10 Bliss Zone

A smile indicating a sense of happiness and relief suddenly appeared on the village head's face the moment Tyler's good news reached his ears.

Right at that instant, the honorable village head of the Southern Villages fell to his knees and tried to show his gratitude to The Hangman.

"You won't dare know how delighted I am after hearing this, Officer. You have saved my people from terror, and getting only thanks is way too small for a reward."

Tyler's brows furrowed slightly.

"From the extreme edge of my heart, I thank you, Officer Hangman," the village head appreciated with a polite and sincere expression.

However, Tyler spent almost all these moments thinking foolishly.

'I was only trying to do my job? I'm a Strider, right?'

Not wanting to look weird, Tyler quickly returned his focus to the village head's gratitude. Now, he cursed himself for letting this great person stay so long in kneeling before him.

"I'm not a god, sir. You just have to be thankful to whoever got my back at that terrific place," Tyler said as he tried to make the village head stand up.

He sighed.

"I really appreciate your help, Officer," the village head thanked again, and Tyler only responded with a slight nod.

Shortly...

"Supreme one, all the casualties are already in the temple. The High Priests seek your present at this moment."

A young boy with pale skin and long dark hair clad in the attire of a servant notified the village head the moment he stepped into the room. Judging by the fact that he came in a rush, the village head felt a sense of hastiness.

It was time for the "seen" casualties to be laid to rest.

Some of the victims of the Horned Beasts' attack weren't taken away, so fortunately, the dead ones were to be buried. Even though some of them had some lost parts in their bodies.

"Umm, Officer. I will be highly honored if you can join our village at the funeral. Please, I beg of you," the village head pleaded politely, and with just a few stares on his face, Tyler couldn't help but accept his proposal.

Even though he had other important missions to accomplish, Tyler just tried to make the poor people of the Southern Villages happy. At least, it was really good to pay the dead last respect, not even after he didn't have the chance to see the corpses of his deceased family.

"Okay, sure," Tyler looked at the village head, "I will go with you, sir."

The village head smiled hearing Tyler's acceptance and nodded positively.

"After you, Officer Hangman."

Tyler nodded and made his way out of the room with the village head following suit.

They walked through a wide path that was visibly leading to the temple, and just as they progressed forward, a thought flashed into Tyler's mind.

'If my new skill could really do anything good, then maybe I can try to make the one of the deceased wake up.'

'Huh? What are you saying, Tyler?! That's way too out of the point. Expecting that might be ridiculous.' He thought.

Tyler doubted his guess.

'Tsk. There is no way that can happen.'

He tried to let go of such uncertain thoughts and concentrate... Soon, they arrived at the temple, the whole place was packed with both dead and living bodies. No, the living had the major figure.

The cries seemed to calm just as everyone got sight of the village head and The Hangman, and these actually made Tyler quite amazed.

'Maybe it's their damned culture... Or rules.' Tyler guessed, staring around as he walked.

The moment they got to the temple, the village head took the lead as they approached the top of the altar. Three priests could be seen standing in front of the group of corpses as they seemingly made enchantments in calm complicated manners.

Tyler sighed.

The moment they got to the altar, The Spot of Virtue, the priests quickly began the funeral. Meanwhile, Tyler was busy staring at the village head who suddenly let out the tears in his eyes.

Tyler quickly held onto his right wrist. "Why do this, sir?" He asked, mumbling.

"T—Th... That's my daughter," the village stammered in tears.

Sigh...

Tyler was pained.

He tried to console the village head quietly since it seemed talking at that moment wasn't acceptable. Even the village head had to stop making sobbing noises.

Because, now, it was time to burn the bodies.

Actually, this is the culture of these people.

Tyler looked at the beautiful lady lying dead on the rocky platform in which he was kept. She had pale skin and blonde hair, and her beauty was still unruffled even at death.

Unlike the others, she was the only one with her body parts complete. She was only injured by the sharp claws of the Horned Beast all over her neck...

Tyler's heart skipped a bit.

"And she is really beautiful," he commented with a dismal look.

The burning began...

Almost all the corpses had been burnt to pure ashes after quite a while until they got to the village head's daughter.

"Stop!"

With a rush of panic, Tyler ordered the priests not to lay a single flame near the village head's daughter's corpse.

"Huh???" One of the priests froze.

Literally, the whole crowd was stunned.

"Don't you dare try to put flames on her!" Tyler yelled at them.

Hearing this, the priests stepped back in an instant, and let The Hangman go close to her.

Sigh...

'I can just try to use the skill on her. Maybe she can just wake up... I pray.'

He activated his Ability through the system and tried to use Bliss Zone.

---------

[Bliss Zone detecting usage...].

[You want to raise the Southern Village Head's daughter from the First Stage of Demise].

[This situation is rare and powerful, and it would cost three Impulse Points to function. Do you agree?].

---------

'Three Impulse Points??? That's a lot!' Tyler complained inwardly.

'That's all I got.'

He hesitated for a while... This chap wouldn't let this lovely lass go just like that.

'I agree.'

He had to...

----------

[Bliss Zone activated... Good things will occur in just a small spot due to this skill being in the Dormant Tier level].

[Bliss Zone occurring in the rocky coffin of the village head's daughter].

----------

Half an hour had passed... And the village head's daughter didn't wake up.

'Please, wake up. Don't prove that this Ability is as useless as I had thought lately.'

Everyone in the temple waited and watched Tyler's drama. It seemed as though he was only playing tricks on everyone, and even the village head was kind of suspicious.

In the first place, did anyone really know what he was doing?

Tyler didn't think so.

But after a while, it was visible.

*Cough*

Right before their eyes, the village head's daughter coughed back to life.
