51 Chapter 48

AN: I got into a bit of a mood. My hand won't type. 😅

DENALI'S LlVING ROOM

ROBIN'S POV

Me and the Denali coven were seated around their living room, currently staring at each other... Isaac is now all clean, wearing a new shirt. Good thing we decided to grab some clothes of his before leaving New York, he does need to buy a whole new wardrobe while staying here for a while. We need to stay here for 2 years, then we leave to save Emmett.

Why don't I prevent Emmett's death? The guy, that himbo... That sweet golden retriever kind of guy never hated being a vampire, he loved it. I won't take that away from him. I need Isaac to come with me because I don't have venom, I used up the syringe of it that Dad gave me.

You might think I'm cruel for not saving him from the pain, but that experience kinda made accepting the transition easier for Emmett... Also, I have a sinking suspicion about something, so I really need him to turn.

"So how are you doing so far, dear?" Carmen asked Isaac with a warm smile, to clear up the awkward atmosphere.

"Oh, I'm loving it! I feel great, I look hot, and the fact that I'll forever be this beautiful is making me so Happy! I've never felt this good in my entire human life... So I'm really glad I met Robin. I'm thankful that I got a second chance," He replied enthusiastically.

We all gave him a warm understanding smile, he did look a lot better before he transitioned, Isaac still looked handsome, but he did look like he was always worn out, tired... We all sensed that he was sick, the scent was strong, to the point that if he didn't turn, I don't think he would've lasted even a year. The medical field hasn't advanced yet to the point that they could prolong his life more.

"By the way, you guys should stop deflecting, and just rip off the bandaid... Here let me start... HOW did this beautiful young girl get turned and why? I don't know the details as to how my best friend knows her, but I have kind of gotten a hint that she was a big deal for her when she was still younger before we met in New York." He asked my cousins, and then directed his gaze to the girl, whom I still do not know the name of.

The girl started fidgeting in place, and she kept looking around to the Denali's, well I guess she's one of their coven now too, a new cousin... Weird... And then she held her gaze towards Kate... Who was now looking everywhere else, but me. She looks so guilty right now.

Tanya and Irene just smiled wryly at her and then sent me and the girl an apologetic look, Irene and Eleazar held the girl's hand, seemingly trying to calm her down, they look like a family now, I guess they adopted her...

Tanya let out a sigh, reluctant and tired of having to deal with this... who made her the coven leader? Poor Tanya.

She began to explain what happened after our coven left for New York. They were all sad that we had to leave abruptly because of me having found my blood singer, and since I didn't want to end up killing her, we chose to leave rather than kill her. They all grew very fond of me, I was the first baby of the family, and they felt like they lost something precious to them so early, and they regret that they wouldn't be able to see me grow into a woman... So, even if they get it, in their hearts, they were still dissatisfied.

At this part, the girl looked at me with a complicated look, I can't imagine how she's feeling right now or how she feels about me.

They tried to let it go, busying themselves with a lot of things, some even planning for when we meet again, or visiting us at our new temporary home... But one particular person in the coven had the hardest time accepting it, and yes... It was Kate... She was the closest to me, and she loved me so much that she was so angry that I had to leave just because of some human, she couldn't accept that she wouldn't see me grow up, I was like a breath of fresh air for them, after living for more than a thousand years...

So she acted irrationally... She convinced herself that she just needed to get rid of the source of the problem, then I might come back. She was quiet and didn't talk much after I left, and they thought she was ok and just sad, so they let her be. But one night, they noticed that she wasn't around, at first they thought that she might have gone out to hunt or go to her little private love nest in the woods, they all had one. Irina was tasked to check, but she wasn't there.

Another guess they had, was that she went on a hunt, but... She didn't hunt around this time, she just hunted the day before... They all had this sinking feeling that something was wrong, and then suddenly, Carmen had the idea that she might have gone to my blood singer, whom I now know the name, which is Coraline, now Coraline Denali.

An orphan who was the new kid being fostered by the owner of the flower shop, age 15 when we met. She was 2 years older than me at that time huh?

So, hearing Carmen's guess, they all went quiet and wide-eyed... And soon all of them ran in Coraline's direction, aside from the couple, they all knew where she was, they visited and scouted, just to be safe and informed about her. As they grew closer to her location the smell of blood permeated through the air... It got stronger the closer they got to the location... Their heart sank, they might be too late, all they could think of was me, and how this would affect me mentally and emotionally, they were already thinking if they should even tell me about her death.

When they got to the location, the smell came from the second floor, in the room with the opened windows, they all jumped through it without hesitation and saw the scene... The girl lying in her bed, now unconscious from losing too much blood, was just there, Kate was just looking at the bleeding girl, with a conflicted look... She may have already woken up from her moment of stupidity and is now in a moral dilemma to either turn her or not, because she stabbed her in the chest, she's pretty much gonna die any second now.

Thinking about my reaction if I ever learned about this, she decided to turn the girl, thinking that at least the girl wasn't truly dead, tho she could imagine that it would be weird for us if we met again because the girl would learn that she got turned because of me...

But before she could even move towards Coraline to turn her, 2 vampires came in to interfere, 1 was Eleazar who blocked her to protect the girl and his wife who was now with the bleeding girl, Carmen was crying and kept saying sorry to the girl for being late, then she bit her to give Coraline her venom.

Except for the couple, the sisters were all confused as to what was happening, and why they acted this way. But they realized that they needed to do something first, and that was to get rid of the evidence, the blood spread through the mattress but none dropped on the floor, so they asked the couple to take the girl home with them while they cleaned up.

After getting rid of the evidence, and making it seem like the girl ran away, the only weird thing would be the missing mattress... Which I think would forever be a mystery for the owner of the house, who was conveniently absent when this all happened... They went back and waited for her to wake up.

While waiting, the sisters discovered from the couple that it seemed the girl was connected to them like how I was to Carlisle and Esme. They started to plan what to do and say to Coraline after she woke up, due to the connection, the couple was a bit dissatisfied with Kate's action, even though they knew the reason, they all agreed that what she did was wrong... Now having a clearer head, Kate didn't refute them and was remorseful of her actions... But it was already too late... The only good thing about this is the fact that the couple found their child.

When Coraline woke up, as expected... She was distraught, she was even hysterical for a while... She was scared and confused... The pain of being stabbed, dying, and the pain of the transition... It was all too much for the young girl. But the couple was patient and understanding of her plight... They stayed with her, and when she calmed down enough, they explained the situation to her... Understandably, she was furious at Kate, and me... Even if I wasn't there, and it wasn't my decision, it was still done to her because of me...

For a while, she was closed off, not talking to anybody else but the couple, and now turned parents, she didn't reject them, since she felt the bond and their sincere feelings towards her, and she was an orphan longing for a family.

It took a while of coaxing, apologizing, and making up to her... But eventually, the girl opened up to the rest of the coven... Tho she's still scared and a bit upset with Kate, she realizes that it is what it is... Even if she's dissatisfied with Kate and me, can they turn back time? No. So she adapted and learned to live with it.

As Tanya finished her retelling the story of how this all happened, my gaze roamed to Kate, and then to Coraline...

"I'm sorry this all happened to you because of me" I audibly said, while bowing my head in her direction. Making her feel my regret and how sorry I was.

Her eyebrows furrowed and then she let out a sigh of defeat before replying to me.

"It's unfair, I shouldn't forgive you this easily, but seeing you like this, and feeling your emotions... I can only relent... So I was your blood singer huh? Is that why you talked to me back then?" she asked and gave me a playful smile.

Everybody in the room let out a breath of relief that they didn't know they were holding back because of the tension. They were now gazing at us with warm smiles.

To be honest, I was expecting her to be mad at me still for a while longer... But I guess I'm cheating since I have a high affinity with vampires... And I think it took effect here.

*No, I did, because I found you cute back then. They asked me to pick someone from the crowd and I chose you.* I said to her with a grin.

It turns out that Coraline hasn't learned how to sign yet, for some reason. But I, and I'm sure everybody in this room knew that it might have been because she refused to learn it because of her ill feelings about me back then. So Carmen translated for me. Which brought a smile to her.

"So, the last time we heard from you, was through a letter, you told us that your coven went to the Volturi and made a deal and that you had to lock your family's memory about some information about you. But you didn't explain what that deal was, and earlier, before Isaac tuned... we felt something off with your emotions, care to explain?

After suddenly being reminded of her, my jaw immediately clenched shut... And my heart felt like it was being stabbed and crushed at the same time... It hurt, my expression must've been all too clear to them... I felt Isaacs's hand press on my shoulder, assuring me... I looked up to him, since he sat at my seat's arm... And gave him a pleading look to do it for me. I don't think I can do this. He just gave me an understanding look and started to explain what happened as I told him.

I zoned out, I was trying my best to calm my emotions... I tried distracting myself by thinking of how I would placate my cousins after they finished hearing the whole story, I might need Isaac to help me with stopping all of them from charging towards Rosalie.

I suddenly got pulled out of my thoughts by a loud crashing sound... Correction... Loud crushing SOUNDS, plural... And also a long series of profanities and curses of different languages, even from the olden times... They were enraged for me, and the living room furnitures are taking the brunt of it. They were so pretty and cool too... Oh my God, the bear skin rug got ripped... Ugh... Nooooo, the moose head...

I just let them get it out of their system, hoping that it will fizzle out soon... But when they did quiet down, they started talking about going to her and massacring her whole clan including the guy who had the guts to take her away from me... So I had to act quickly.

"STOP AND LOOK AT ME!" I shouted, lacing my voice full of intent and emotion. Making the compulsion stronger. I only said these set of words to not control them fully, but to have them look at me, long enough for me to explain.

They all dazedly looked at me and waited for my next action.

*Nobody's going to New York to murder my mate. I know you currently don't care a rat's ass for her, but I do. I made my choice, and am making my peace with the fact and situation. I'm the one who's directly affected by this, and I decided to let it go... So please let it go for me...*

After a while... A long while... They calmed down... But were still very angry at Rosalie. Which at the moment is understandable, it's still fresh, and they felt my pain. I love them for loving me this much, but it's worrying how much they would do for me... Vampires are intense people huh...

Now I'm dreading the time when my actual family learns about it...

AN: another chapter done, we're close to reaching 50 chapters! Yay! Not much happened in this chap, more on just explaining how the girl got turned, more monologuing, and stuff. The next chapter will have a bit of a time skip. 😉
