Chapter 1: School scenario

"Why are you so far away my love?" Ayla, seated on her chair, was on her phone watching a video of a popular korean boyband fantazing her idols.

"I'm not that far away. " said Asher as he whispher it to her ears and walks to a seat beside her.

"Very funny, Ash." said Ayla, eyes still on her phone

"What? Don't you love me? " Asher was staring at her. It was not a serious question but it was also not a joke.

"More like hate. " she shortly replied.

"You know, there is a thin line between love and hate." Erica couldn't help to butt in the conversation. She absolutely supports the two. They've known each other since they were kids. She's the no. 1 supporter for Asher x Ayla love team.

"Whose side are you really, Erica?"

Ayla put aside her phone and looks at Ayla with annoyance.

"My side" she replied as she winks at her.

"I thought I was your best friend."

Ayla said to her.

"I thought I was your crush. " said Asher with a matter-of-factly voice. Erica nodding her head with agreement. It was true, everyone knows it. Ayla can't deny it.

" Yeah, you were bragging about how he was your knight and shining armor."

"Was" said Ayla emphasizing that it was past tense. It was true that she had a crush on Asher way back then. It started when she was teased by other kids. She was holding her tears back then and Asher was there and he defended her. Since then, nobody tried to bother her because the bullies new target was Asher. She admired him that day but was guilty for what happened. The next days they met Erica. She was brave, smart and strong. The both of them became friends with Erica. No one ever bothered them again.

"It was on 1st grade! Geez, it's already ancient history. " said Ayla as her voice gets louder.

"History repeats itself, that's what others say." Erica loves qoutes, poetry as much as she loves teasing both Asher and Ayla. Asher stifled a laugh.

Ayla got so irritated. It was still early in the morning and class hasn't started yet. She does not know that if should be glad about the three of them being classmates.

"Are you really my best friend?"

"I am" Erica shortly replied.

"You're enjoying this, aren't you? "

"And what if I am? It's looks like I'm not the only one enjoying it. " Erica said with a grin on her face as she gazed at Asher.

Ayla followed her gaze and saw Asher laughing his hearts out.

She glared at Asher. Asher felt her gaze heavy on his shoulders. His eyes met her deadly glare. She's fun to tease but not when she's angry. He coughed and acted serious.

Miss Adkins came inside right on time before Ayla went berserk. He sighed of relief.
