8 Chapter 8

-[Wynne]-

He groaned in slight exhaustion as he got off the floor of the lab. There were books piled up in the different corners of the lab as well as spare parts of machines.

He'd been at this for a few weeks and with the use of time dilation glyphs and lack of sleep, he'd made a lot of progress.

Turning to the robot that stood in front of him, he couldn't help but feel proud at his results. Standing in front of him was the unfinished model of his variant of the atlesian knight.

Instead of the ugly and bulky looking robot that the military used, this version was sleek and more humanoid. It was still obviously a robot but it was less clunky than what Ironwood was using.

He'd replaced the clunky guns on the arms for actual hands to allow for more diverse uses.

All that was left was to finish their programming and arm them with weapons to make them proper killing machines.

'Suck it Ironwood.' He thought in a moment of pettiness.

He hadn't neglected his usual workout and semblance training during these weeks. He also allocated some time to learn how to use and control his ice powers.

His ice powers were still a closely kept secret so far. He'd been careful to make sure Jacques and none of the staff in the manor saw him.

The revenue from Huntsman Legends was only rising higher as was his reputation but that had reached the height that it could and had maintained itself there.

All in all, it was a productive few weeks. He idly wondered how Weiss was doing as he went back to work.

-[Blake]-

Laying in bed in her team dorm in beacon, she couldn't help but frown in frustration at Yang and Ruby's screams as they played Huntsman Legends on their scrolls.

Weiss was playing as well but the Schnee was more composed, only frowning instead of shouting.

She couldn't blame them but she also wanted to sleep. She'd admit the game kept her from getting bored when she was in hiding after running away from the White Fang.

There were temptations to spend money on it but she had to save her money to survive. She was ashamed to say that she gave into temptation once.

Her white haired teammate, who was the sister of the creator of the game that her teammates were obsessed with, was apparently one of the top players in the game.

She was surprised when she first downloaded the game, expecting some manner of degradation of faunus only to find that it was different from her expectations.

Everyone knows that the relationship between faunus and the Schnee family is terrible so it was somewhat expected that the faunus would be made a joke of but it was instead the opposite.

She and Weiss surprisingly got along well but that would all change the moment she was discovered to be a faunus.

She'd been careful to hide her ears so she didn't have to worry about it as of now.

"Take that you bastard!" Yang raged at her scroll.

Now if only her teammates would shut up and let her sleep.

-[Ironwood]-

Though the hype of the 'genius' Schnee had mostly died down, it was still there. The game's popularity hadn't died down in the slightest, rising each day with new players downloading and playing it.

He had been patient so far. Had he decided to approach Wynne so soon after his success, he would be on guard.

He waited for the talks to die down but he also had to be careful to not wait too long that he would slip back into silence.

He wasn't worried about the boy creating another game to make waves. The scientists that looked over the game's code said that it would take all of them months if not over a year to create something like that again.

This was his time to strike and sway this talent to his side before he gained any more influence.

-[Wynne]-

"What is the meaning of this?!" Jacques screamed in outrage.

The white haired man was hoisted in the air by a white glyph that restrained his hands above his head.

In the air around him were blue glyphs that had large ice spikes forming out of them, the pointed tips only inches away from his neck.

"It's exactly what it looks like." Wynne said, standing in front of him. "The Schnee Dust Company is a family business. No amount of hair dye and teeth whitening will ever make you a Schnee."

Jacques's face squeezed in rage. "How dare you?! You ungrateful child! Do you have any idea what you're doing?! Do you really think you're going to achieve anything with this?!"

"I know exactly what I'm doing." Wynne said, tapping the scroll as a projection was displayed above it. "These files contain every single illegal and immoral action you have taken from the moment you took over this company. All it takes is one tap and it goes public."

"I taught you better than that. If you do that, the SDC will be forever ruined! Neither of us will benefit from that!" Jacques sneered.

"That's one option. If I release this, you will forever be out of business and will spend the rest of your life in jail while I'll still have Schnee Entertainment to build up. Even if you somehow get out of jail, you'll never find a job." Wynne said as he turned off the projection.

The man opened his mouth to speak but Wynne beat him to it. "One more thing, those hidden accounts that you've been funneling most of the SDC's money to aren't as hidden as you think." At this point, Jacques turned paler than he already was.

There was nothing that Jacques could hide from him. No offshore account or shell company to hide his ill gotten funds in. He'd already hacked into the system and given himself authorization of the accounts, transferring them into his one company account.

Even if Jacques managed to get out of going to jail, he was done and stranded.

"Well it's either that or I'll kill you." Wynne said, revealing his other option.

He could see Jacques shudder in fear before trying to compose himself and play the sympathy card. "You would kill your own father?"

"I'd kill the sperm donor who aided in my birth. You're not my father." He countered, the ice closing in on Jacques, the pointed tips now pressing against his neck.

He took pride in the sheer fear on Jacques' face. Walking to stand directly in front of him, he raised up a sheet of papers that he'd brought with him.

This was one of the reasons he wanted Weiss out of Atlas before he did this. She was happy pursuing her dream of becoming a huntress so he didn't want her to bear the burden of witnessing this.

"These are documents saying that you will hand over every manner of control or influence you have on all Schnee businesses to me and at no point can you ever attempt to reclaim them." Dropping it on the desk, he pulled out a pen.

"I won't kill you today. All you need to do is sign them." He said, walking to stand close to the bound Jacques who had begun to emit an unpleasant smell.

"I-I'll do i-it! I'll do it!" Jacques caved in fear.

The glyphs suspending him in the air disappeared as he fell to the ground painfully.

"I made a few copies of these but just in case you even think about trying anything..." Tossing him the pen, he looked down at him as the temperature in the room got cold.

Ice began forming on the floor where Wynne was standing, spreading to the walls as Jacques shiver became more pronounced.

"No one would investigate it if Jacques Schnee suddenly fell ill." The ice creeped up Jacques' leg encasing it in a layer of frost. "So I advise you to choose wisely."
