" That was a lot quicker than what I was expecting, Silva."

Emerald said to me, looking a bit curious at my abrupt departure from Pietro's Clinic. But with the complete knowledge and memories that I acquired from the good doctor with Soul Archive and I have an idea of what to do next. As much as I would like to meet Penny, that is still a ways off since Pietro is still trying to figure out how to give an android a soul. He is close, although because of the leads he has of smiths capable of providing weapons souls, has weight to it since I know they exist due to the fact I have the combined memories of all of Mistral's artisans and craftsmen.

A number of them were at one time apprenticed to those almost legendary smiths. While most of those craftsmen lived hermit-like lifestyles, devoting themselves to their craft in isolation and away from mundane distractions. I had a passing interest in them at one point but decided not to bother since they all shared the same problem. Every time they crafted something with a soul in it, they lost a part of their soul in the process, just like Pietro in the canon when he made Penny and became paralyzed from the waist down.

Plus, I can't exactly warn him against it as he would do it anyway to have a family despite the consequences. As I organized Pietro's memories with Soul Archive, Emerald drew my attention.

" Hello, Remnant to Silva, come in."

" Oh, sorry about tuning you out, Emerald; I was lost in thought."

Emerald looked at me with suspicion and asked.

" Your visit with that doctor was a lot shorter than I thought..."

Seeing how Emerald told me she trusted me a bit more now, I decided to let her in on one of my secrets.

" The reason for that is simple. When I touched him, I used my other Semblance to copy his memories and knowledge into my own mind."

The mint-haired girl's eyes widened in shock, and she asked.

" Your other semblance?! As in, you have more than one?!"

" Yes, I have more than one Semblance, three to be exact."

Emerald blinked her eyes a few times to process what I had just told her, then said.

" Okay, I know you can make portals, and I originally thought that conjured weapon you used in the tournament finals was an extension of your portals. So you're telling me that you can create weapons with your Aura, create doorways to vast distances, and copy people's memories?"

" A bit inaccurate on some parts, but I can fill you in if you want. Think of it as trust reciprocated from me to you since you told me you trust me now."

Emerald looked confused but replied.

" Thanks, I guess."

After a few moments, she had a look of realization and asked.

" Wait a minute; you said you could copy memories. Does that mean you copied mine already?!"

" No, I have not, and the only guarantee I can give you is my word."

Emerald looked nervous at what I had just told her and looked ready to run, but she calmed herself by taking a deep breath. The mint-haired girl then said to me with an even tone.

" I will take your word for it... for now."

" I understand, and let me tell you more about myself and my past. That is if you want to hear it?"

Emerald thought about my question, then replied after she relaxed a bit.

" Might as well."

" Let's find somewhere for brunch or an early lunch then."

I plan on telling Emerald almost everything with the exclusion of my past life, Salem, the Relics, and the Brother Gods. Let's see how things turn out.

Another day ended in Mantle and Atlas, with night soon shrouding both cities.

After several revelations from Silva, Emerald and he returned to the tavern they were staying at and found Neopolitan wrapped up like a caterpillar in a cocoon with blankets in their room. Silva smiled, looking amused at the tri-colored girl's antics, and the mint-hair girl asked sarcastically.

" Having fun?"

Neopolitan ignored Emerald as the tri-colored girl curled up into a ball to try and warm up some more in the chilly tavern room. Silva went to a corner in the room and took out some mechanical parts and tools he had just got from a junk shop while out with Emerald. The snow leopard faunus started to put Pietro Polendina's knowledge to use in constructing a few items he had in mind to help the situation now and his plans for later on. As Silva worked on his little project, Emerald and Neopolitan watched with curiosity.

Neopolitan lightly elbowed Emerald, then pointed her thumb at Silva to silently ask if the mint-haired girl knew what the snow leopard faunus was working on. Emerald shook her head in denial despite the fact she was with Silva as he bought quite a few things before returning to the tavern. They eventually got bored and decided to kill time with a fighting game on their Scrolls. The mint-haired girl grew increasingly frustrated as the tri-colored girl was mercilessly beating her. Neopolitan then antagonizes Emerald by conjuring a sign that says as the tri-colored girl smirked at the former thief.

" Git Gud."

" Shut up!"

Emerald retorted at Neopolitan's provocation and gave up playing games with the tri-colored gamer that uses the username Triple_Threat1C. Emerald dug out Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban that Silva gave her before it got printed in the following months and read it. Neopolitan shrugged at her fellow travel companion's choice and went to play some online matches. Silva then exclaimed, much to the two's surprise.

" Done!"

Emerald then asked, looking curious at Silva's project.

" Done with what, Silva?"

" Kotatsu!"

Emerald and Neopolitan didn't know what he meant as Silva brought out a short table with a blanket around its edges. The faunus sat down on a cushion he bought and had his lap enter the kotatsu. Silva had one in his previous life after experiencing it in the cold climate parts of Japan and even got a model he could travel with to icy regions. Silva took out some cushions for the girls and gestured for them to come to join him. Neopolitan got up and was the first to join in as she was curious about what Silva had built. The tri-colored almost immediately melted at the pleasant warmth and slumped against the table, looking content.

Emerald looked weirded out at Neopolitan's reaction and looked at Silva as he started working on a program on his Scroll. The mint-haired girl asked the snow leopard faunus as she gestured at the kotatsu.

" Silva, what is that?"

" A kotatsu."

Emerald rephrased her question.

" What in the world is a kotatsu?"

" Just join us already; I promise you will like it."

Emerald huffed at the reply but got up and sat down on a cushion with her legs under the table. The former thief felt the toasty warmth of the kotatsu and relaxed as she said.

" This is nice, especially with how chilly it has been lately."

" That's why I built it in the first place, Em."

Emerald picked up on the nickname and asked Silva feeling unsure about it.

" Em?"

" Do you dislike it?"

At Silva's question, Emerald replied, sounding hesitant.

" It's not that... it's just, well..."

The mint-haired girl sighed and then said.

" Go ahead."

Silva smiled at Emerald's acceptance of her nickname and enjoyed the kotatsu as he planned his next move for Atlas.
