6 Anos Becomes A Chess Grandmaster!

{AN: "Second chapter as promised.}

After everyone had left to return to their respective living spaces, Nick Fury shared the information he received to the higher up's. And to say they were horrified would be an understatement. They wanted to drop all their nukes on Anos to try and kill him, but their idea was immediately rejected as they knew the consequences of even dropping a singal nuke, let alone all the nukes they owned.

So, they told Nick to try and either bribe or blackmail Anos into joining them. But Nick Told them that he cannot do it as it might trigger Kamar Taj, Asgard, and Olympus to attack them. And in the end the higher ups sighed in defeat as they really couldn't think of a way to reel Anos to join them. And while on the topic of Kamar Taj, Olympus, and Asgard, the higher ups became greedy and told Nick to try kidnapping a student of Kamar Taj to teach their soldiers magic. Nick Fury had to deter their greed for more power by warning them that their leader the Ancient One was as powerful as Zeus and Odin.

In the end knowing that the only thing they could do was to not offend Anos lest they get attacked by litteral God's, they decided to try and earn Anos's goodwill by telling Nick Fury to allow anything that Anos purchase to be free as the government will pay on his behalf. Nick Fury was glad that they actually used their brains as even he doesn't wish for a fight against three dangerous groups ever happening. And after several hours, the meeting with the Shield higher-ups concluded, but before they left, Nick Fury spoke up.

Nick Fury: "Excuse me everyone, but I director Nicholas Joseph Fury would like permission to go on vacation. I have been working here since SHIELD was first established and I was hoping to get a vacation as I am far to stressed from all these problems arising."

Although surprised by the request, their answer was immediate.

All Higher-ups: "No."

And they ended the meeting directly in Nick Fury's face. Nick Fury only had a scowl present on it as he grumbled calling his higher-ups a bunch of racist fuckers. Fury ended up sighing before contacting the agents spying on Anos. Once they had picked up, Nick Fury Spoke.

Nick Fury: "Agent's, how is the target right now?"

Agent 1: "Sir... I'm not sure what to say."

Nick Fury frowned as he spoke.

Nick Fury: "What's wrong?"

Agent 2: "Sir, the target just became a grandmaster chess player."

Nick Fury froze on the spot as he heard what was just said. And the agents became worried hearing silence on the other side, that is until they heard thir director scream.

Nick Fury: "Dam You Anos Voldigoad! It hasn't even been 24 hours and you've gone and cause me even more headaches!"

Both Agent's winced hearing their commander screaming and cursing. Taking several deep breaths to calm down, Nick Fury spoke with an icy tone causing the two agent's to tremble in fear.

Nick Fury: "Explain to me, everything that happened that lead to whats currently happening."

Agent 1: "Well you see."

(Flashback)

When Anos sent a clone to join the meeting, he happened to pass by a building that seemed to be holding a Chess Tournament even though other parts of the city was being rebuilt. Out of curiosity, Anos walked into the building and noticed how only a handful of people were even here. But the place seemed very lively. Noticing him entering the building, some looked at him in curiosity because of the outfit he was wearing, but the others just shrugged their shoulders not really caring much for his outfit.

Anos walked towards the receptionist as he spoke.

Anos: "Excuse me, what is this event your holding?"

The receptionist looked rather surprised at Anos's words before she explained.

Receptionist Worker: "This here is a chess tournament, it was supposed to be a tournament for any interested chess players to increase their ranking. But because of the attack on New York City, alot of the players originally interested didn't attend."

Anos: "Could you explain the ranking system for this tournament?"

The receptionist nodded her head and explained.

R.Lady: "The ranking system is based on your match history. Based on your number of wins and losses, we will assess which rank you best suite. There are multiple ranks starting from Beginner, Novice, Amateur, intermediate, Senior, professional, expert, master, senior master, grandmaster, and finally the champion."

Anos: "I would like to join please."

The receptionist nodded her head as she spoke.

R.Lady: "To join this tournament you have to pay a fee of 10 dollars. And considering your lack of experience in chess, I will place you in the begginer category for this tournament."

Anos: "Say I win the begginer category, can I move up and challenge the higher ranking player's?"

The receptionist nodded her head as she explained.

R.Lady: "Indeed, though if you want to, you can come again during the next tournament as well. Chess does after all require alot of thinking and brain power. So you might get some headaches."

Anos nodded in understanding before he paid the fee and wrote his name on a piece of paper as the receptionist spoke.

R.Lady: "Once your name is called, please head to the table where you will meet your opponent. And one more thing before you go, let me give you a book explaining the various openings for chess, and how each piece moves across the board."

Anos: "Thank you for the book. Must I also pay for it?"

R.Lady: "No. This is a basic guidebook for every beginner. You can return it or keep it it's all up to you."

Anos nodded his head before leaving to prepare himself. He skimmed the entire book in a second before closing it as he already memorised everything.

Anos: "What an interesting game. Alright then understood."

R.Lady: "Anos Voldigoad, please head to table 16, your opponent has arrived."

Anos hummed before getting up and heading to face his opponent. Arriving before the table was a young Indian teenager. The teenager held his hand out in greeting, and Anos shook it. After shaking hands, a rather old man in a fancy suit arrived before them and introduced himself as Henry. Henry then started explaining some things.

Henry: "The paper on your side is to allow you both to keep track of your own moves, and the moves of your opponent. The clock besides you is a timer that will be set to a certain amount of time, and if the time on either one of your clocks end, the one with their time still remaining even if its just by a single second will be declared the winner am I understood?"

Anos just nodded his head and so did the young teenage boy. He wished Anos goodluck, so Anos naturally replied in kind.

Henry: "Considering this your first tournament, you both will be given an hour to finish your game. Goodluck to the both of you, so without further delays, you may begin."

Anos who was using the white piece pressed on his clock before he began. He moved the pawn from d2 to D4.

Anos: 'D4, otherwise known as the Queens gambit.'

And in less than 10 moves, Anos had gotten checkmate against his opponent. Causing Henry to look on rather surprised but not much of a reaction. Anos shook hands with his opponent who he beaten, and then came his next opponent who he defeated with ease as well. Henry started wondering if Anos really was a new chess player, as everyone he plays against always loses to him. And in the end, Anos ended up winning the begginer competition with a breeze.

Henry: "Excuse me Anos Voldigoad, is this really the first time your playing chess?"

Anos: "Indeed, who would have guessed that such a seemingly boring game could be so fun. I must admit it is a very fun strategical and logical thinking game."

Henry nodded his head a smile on his face as he replied.

Henry: "I know what you mean. I also always thought that chess was a simple and boring game, and yet here I am now being a well respected judge for chess. It has grown on me for so long that now I also play chess whenever I visit my family. Its a great way to all get together."

Anos: "That sounds lovely. I hope your family has as much passion for this game as you do."

Henry chuckled good heartedly and nodded his head in thanks, until Anos spoke up once more.

Anos: "So, can I go challenge the next ranking?"

Henry: "Eh? So soon? Don't you want to rest?"

Anos: "No need, my hearts already racing anticipating a good match. So please let's go on ahead shall we?"

Henry merely sighed before reluctantly agreeing and having Anos follow him for his match against a higher ranking opponent. And as the match began, Henry thought that Anos would lose after playing so many matches, yet he was proven wrong as somehow he won once more. Henry couldn't help but sweat slightly in anticipation! This young man might just be a chess prodigy!

Henry decided to keep his eyes on Anos, and he didn't regret it a single bit, as everyone he faced lost to him eventually. It reached a point where he was already fighting Master level chess players, and making them tremble in fear and awe as Anos simply defeated them one after the other without ever losing once. It became so absurd that even the few grandmasters were watching Anos in curiosity. Henry seeing this couldn't help but think to himself.

Henry: 'This young man isn't a prodigy! He's a monster! How can you play so many matches without breaking so much as a single sweat?!'

Henry trembled as he spoke.

Henry: "Anos Voldigoad, to achieve your status as an advance master, you must beat three high rating advance master's. Are you ready?"

Anos just took a sip from his water bottle as he nodded his head and even reply lazily.

Anos: "Yes, yes. Let's begin."

As Anos's first opponent sits before him, he doesn't even give Anos a gretting or even a handshake causing Anos to raise an eyebrow in confusion, but he decided to ignore it, before completely decimating his first opponent.

Henry: "Anos Voldigoad, I'm sorry to ask this of you, but are you really a begginer who just found out about chess? The way you play the game is similar to a high ranking Grandmaster."

Anos: "I speak no lies Henry, the reason I'm so good at the game is because I read the manual on how to play chess."

Everyone only had a single thought in their head hearing Anos's words.

Everyone: 'Bullshit!'

Henry had a strained smile as he spoke.

Henry: "Anos, surely you jest? Just reading the book allowed you to reach this far?"

Anos: "Of course, it's thanks to the book that I know how each opening works, and how each chess piece moves. So all I do is imagine every single possible move that my opponents can make before they make it."

Henry and alot of others there became shocked hearing Anos's word's. And even if they wanted to call everything he said bull, they can't help but actually bieve what he's saying!

Anos: "Well, where's my opponent? I want to get this over with."

Before anyone could even speak, the current global chess champion sat across Anos as he spoke.

?: "Hello there, my name is Magnus Carlson. Do you mind if I were to face you?"

Anos: "Of course, but considering this a tournament, can I presume your prepared to battle and possibly lose your title as champion?"

Magnus merely nodded his head causing everyone to gasp in shock! And after receiving the confirmation, Anos's whe demeanour became more serious as he faced the champion. But even must admit that this human before him is an incredible player.

Magnus: "By the way Anos, what will I get if this match ends up in my victory?"

Anos: "Anything your heart desires."

Magnus Smiles widely as he accepted the deal, and then he immediately got serious as he prepared to go all out.

Henry walked to the two rather fearfully as he spoke in a terrified voice.

Henry: "Magnus Carlson, versus Anos Voldigoad! May the best chess player win!"

And like that, the most incredible game of chess ever watched in history was laid before the eyes of the other chess players. Every move one of them made was heartwrenching to watch. But yet even with the two playing against each other, everyone noticed how Magnus was actually starting to lose! This scene caused chaos among the veteran chess players.

Henry: "This! This is a match not between two prodigies, but between two God's! Two chess God's!"

The veteran chess players all cheered once the final piece was made checkmating Magnus's King.

{AN: "Go watch kitty vs stock fish. Anos is stock fish, magnus is kitty.}

Some other men besides Henry couldn't help but mutter.

Random Judge: "I can't believe it! Magnus actually lost?!

Random Judge 2: "Dammit! We forgot to record the match!"

Henry turned his gaze from his colleague's, and turned back to the table where Magnus was smiling widely in amusement over everything happening. However, the one thing Henry noticed was that Anos had somehow disappeared!

Henry: "Anos Vdigoad is gone?!"

Everyone: "NANI?! MASAKA!"

Meanwhile the person who caused all this Chaos was walking away with his hands in his pockets as he continued his stroll completely aware of the chaos he brought on, but not caring enough to do anything about it.

(Flashback End)

Agent 1: "And thats all that happened sir!"

Nick Fury: "I see. Thank you agent, please continue observation of the target."

Agent 1 & 2: "Very well Director!"

After the communication ended, Nick Fury took a deep breath before screaming so loud, the soundproof walls could not even muffle his scream.

Nick Fury: "ANOS VOLDIGOAD!!!!!!!"

Nick Fury wod continue cursing Anos till the next day when he passed out from stress.
