Chapter 76 : : Martial Spirit

Inside the Origin Chasm, the concentration of Battle Qi had reached a frightening level, Psychonic Energy and Mana just worked as a supplementary agent when coming in contact, while Kale focused on managing the energy flow inside the body and the Origin Chasm, all the energy condensed in the form of a spirit embryo at the centre of the Origin Chasm.

A faint connection between his soul and the embryo was then formed, making him sense the faint familiar yet unfamiliar energy fluctuation coming from inside.

After the nourishment of a few minutes that seemed like an eternity, the embryo cracked into pieces, that disintegrated into energy and got absorbed into the body inside. Kale directed his consciousness inside and saw a red peach-like seed floating in his Origin Chasm.

The plump red seed then started to madly absorb all three types of energy inside the Origin Chasm, while Kale had to continue cultivating and maintain the energy conversion rate to keep the needed supply of the energy.

'A seed?' Kale's eyes shined brightly, he was delighted that his plan worked and it was indeed a Martial Spirit related to plants.

The seed kept absorbing the energy all around for hours, Kale was on the verge of falling unconscious any minute but he bit his tongue and forced himself to remain awake, falling unconscious right now would mean that his Martial Spirit's foundation would be damaged,

Eventually, the absorption rate of the seed slowed down, suddenly it trembled for a moment then sprouted, a tiny bud flourished from it and rapidly grew into a flowery plant, the plant had red stem, branches and beautiful crimson leaves, the plant didn't stop there and kept thriving turning into a full-grown tree.

The growth rate surprised Kale, moreover, he could feel an unusual familiar power coming from the tree.

The tall tree was covered in dense red leaves, the leaves, branches and trunk of the tree were in different shades of red.

The most attractive part of the tree was its lengthy roots that were now expanded over the enormous free space of the Origin Chasm, the redwood of the tree had a metallic lustre to it, making it look like an artificial tree that had come to life.

The tremendous size of the tree carried an imposing aura, it carried a certain prestige to itself, making it seem like a royal amongst tree but its presence gave more of a threatening feeling than the calming atmosphere.

Just when Kale thought it was over, he saw that the red leaves covering the top of the tree started to fall, first, it was only a few leaves, then the number increased, in his shocking vision, all the leaves on the tree fell, not even one was left.

Clank… Clank…

When he was still shocked by the previous sight, another unexpected thing happened, numerous red chains came out of the branches and hung down the tree. One end of every chain was attached to the branches while the other was a three-edged claw.

The second Kale saw them, he was stunned.

'These chains... Why do they seem familiar, ‹Undead Being Revival Ritual›?' Kale thought.

He remembered the chains were clearly, although they seemed a little different because of the metallic claws but the feeling they gave him was the same as the ones from the time he used ‹Undead Being Revival Ritual› in his last life before death, using Amon's strength.

He performed ‹Undead Being Revival Ritual› to live even after his lifespan had come to an end, at the time of death he thought he completely failed but the sight in his vision made him think again.

In his previous life, he was very close to plants and researched on them but for every important research, he needed another thing which was WitchCraft, earlier he didn't think that the Martial Spirit can be related to WitchCraft because it was a completely different concept to this world but now the facts were in front of him.

At this moment, his Martial Spirit was completely formed. When a Martial Spirit is formed they become a part of their host, their abilities feels like instincts to the user, as such Kale too began to realize its power.

He wanted to research his Martial Spirit as fast as possible but he was very tired so he put that thought in the back of his head for the time, Kale opened his eyes and looked at Fynn who was staring at him with an incredible look in his eyes.

"Erase evidence… Forest fire…" After saying these words, Kale fainted on the spot and went into a deep sleep.

Fynn understood the meaning behind his words, he nodded and started attending to his injuries, he had a feeling that Kale's death meant his death.

Kale went into a deep sleep that lasted two nights and one day, during this time many things happened in the outside world.

A random fire broke out happened on the mountain overnight burned down the vegetation around the top of the forest. Fortunately, the area around the lone mansion on the mountain was safe, to be on the safe side, one of the owners of the houses cut down all the tree around to prevent the fire break out in advance.

People were curious and suspicious about the reason behind the sudden fire but they were calm, they knew that all things will come to light after Baron Enan will investigate the matter but to their surprise, Baron Enan declared that it was an accidental forest fire that doesn't need further investigation just after the investigation started, and so, no further investigation was done.

Fluorescent Peak, Kale's mansion.

Kale was sitting in his room in a meditative position, his palms were joined together and a pale white egg was lying in his hands, his full focus was on the egg that slightly trembled now and then. Suddenly, a small crack appeared on its surface and extended all around, with a jolt, a little white head popped out of the hole formed due to cracks.

It was the head of a little white snake, the little snake shook its head in irritation and broke the upper surface of the egg, fully coming out of it, its small body was covered in sticky slimy liquid but Kale didn't care, he was carefully observing the little snake.

The little snake has a small body covered with jade white scales, its body was like a piece of art, its eyes were shut tight, a fingernail size white diamond-like crystal was embedded on top of its head.

'These features... Jade Blood Snake Queen?' Kale looked at the snake in slight surprise.

There are several Rare-Grade variations of Blood & Bone Snake, but Jade Blood Snake King and Jade Blood Snake Queen are still rarer compared to others, they don't have an overly big advantage or disadvantage, surpassing others, both are well balanced, the advantage is that their physicals strength is high while the disadvantage is that they are picky eaters and inborn foodie.

The little snake crawled on Kale's finger then opened its mouth and tried to bit his skin, but its fangs failed to penetrate his skin, Kale's physique was now on another level while the little snake was just born.

Kale's lips curled upwards and he chuckled, he took a deep breath and concentrated. Suddenly, a red leaf-like symbol appeared on his right palm, then an illusory red chain with a tri edges claw at its end came out of it and started to swirl around the little snake's body.

Kale took a glance then spoke, "I, in the name of Kale Oshwatt, propose a contract, I shall raise you as a pet from now on, in return, you shall give me your full loyalty, on breaking the contract, your soul shall be mine, do you accept?" As he finished speaking, Kale flickered his fingers and a bone nail came out of his first finger and made a cut on his palm.

The little snake was blindly trying to dig into Kale's skin ignoring whatever he was saying, but the second it smelled the blood, the little snake stopped, it opened its little mouth wide and gave a big smooch to the bleeding wound, the little snake then started sucking on it like, it wasn't blood but milk that a young baby needs.

At the same time, the illusory red chain with a claw that was swirling around the little snake's body dived into the body then disappeared.

Once the chain disappeared, the snake's body slightly trembled but it kept sucking on the blood without any worry, while Kale laughed to his heart's content. He could now feel a faint connection with the little snake, similar to the one he would normally feel with Fynn, as a matter of fact, this connection felt more solid and profound.

In the last few days, he researched and was able to understand the first ability of his Martial Spirit.

It was the same as the contract he made with Amon in the past, a contract with the Devil!

But this time, he was the one playing the role of the Devil.

His Martial Spirit didn't awaken any ability related to normal plants, but the first ability he got was more than enough to make up for that.

Kale named his Martial Spirit, ‹Hell's Tree› and his first ability as ‹Chain Of Contract›.

Similar to how he had made a contract with Amon, Kale had to follow the same old three conditions when proposing the contract.

Firstly, he can't lie while proposing the contract.

Secondly, both parties need to agree to the conditions.

Third, the blood of both parties needs to come in contact with each other.

The little snake wasn't intelligent enough to understand the human language much less make a decision, it didn't try to refuse the contract, that's why it was taken as its agreement by default.

Although the power of the ability is limited due to Kale's strength but once the contract is established, it is powered by the host's lifeforce, meaning the power of the contract can rise depending on the life form level of the host.

In other words, once the contract is established, it only becomes harder to destroy it in time. Kale also has risks too, once he breaks the contract, he would suffer from backlash depending on the other contract holder's strength, the backlash can be strong enough to kill him instantly.

The only way to nullify the contract is the agreement of both parties.

'If I make the right use of this Battle Spirit then the profit is almost limitless, the people's lack of knowledge about WitchCraft and Devil's here is my biggest advantage,' Kale thought.

Kale looked down and saw that the little snake finished its meal and was lying down on his palm, its belly was bloated up showing its foodie nature while its mouth was wide open as it inhaled and exhaled leisurely without a care in the world.

When Kale was still looking at it in amusement, the little snake opened its eyes and revealed the emerald green pupils with a vertical pitch green slit in between. That pair of eyes were like two precious green gems, no one could tell that these were the eyes of a cold-blooded snake that doesn't think twice before eating its own kin.

The little pair of eyes stared at him while Kale was looking at it, the snake then closed its eyes and led on his palm, its breathing became slow as it went into a deep sleep.

'Interesting,' Kale muttered under his breath.

By now, his blood carried faint poison properties, it could cause temporary paralysis to a normal mortal when coming into contact, although he knew that the little snake's species was immune to such type of poison since birth, it still surprised him at how it was completely unaffected.

'I need to hurry up my cultivation of ‹Nether Venom Body›, or else the day it develops its own poison, I will fall at the receiving end,' Kale thought, he had planned to feed the snake his own blood to develop affinity while also using its developing poison to speed up his own cultivation.

"Huh? You are here," Kale raised his head and turned to the door.

The door opened and a man clad in black attire covering his whole body and a mask hiding his lower face was standing at the door. He was holding a small wooden box in his hands.

Although only his eyes were showing, the intense vigour in them showed his increased strength, Fynn was already at peak of Level 20 when he met Kale, he could breakthrough anytime but Kale stopped him and told him to focus on his foundation.

His actual foundation was barely at D, it wasn't just due to the talent but lack of resources, under Kale's investment, he was able to raise his foundation to B, after that he breakthrough, reaching A would have taken longer, according to Kale as long as he masters the techniques given to him, he will still have the chance to reach A by Level 30.

The reason why he hurried was that Kale wanted him to grow in strength as soon as possible for now.

Fynn looked at Kale and nodded 'Is my mastery of ‹Shadow Tactics» that low?' He thought.

‹Shadow Tactics› was a set of movement techniques that allows the user to hide in shadows and move efficiently without making any sound while also hiding the aura and presence when striking down the enemy.

Kale could guess what he was thinking but he didn't answer, the reason Kale could sense his presence wasn't due to difference in skills, it was because of the slave contract he forced on Fynn.

Fynn stepped forward and respectfully placed the wooden box in front of Kale, he then opened it revealing the two sets of crystal plates containing spell formulas with a book in it. These were the spell inheritance sent by Sanae Rosary, one set was of Tier 1 Earth Mage inheritance while the other was of Tier 2 Plant Mage, the book contained the notes of her experience when breaking through to being a Plant Mage.
