Annual Rebirths to End the Empire

"I didn't want things to end like this." She said, looking around. The empire she had tried so hard to protect was destroyed. Plagues, cross-empire wars, nothing was left. She clenched her fists, nails digging into skin. Drawing blood. Suddenly, her head jolted up as voices echoed. Whispering in her ear. Temping. "Your curse is to undo what was written on paper. Nothing more, nothing less." She smiled. Yes, the curse. The curse would save her. "So send me back. Give me Endless rebirths. Until I get it right." ~~~~ Pls help dis rando author ;-; I have dirt bank account and dirt writing skills but gold imagination ~~~~ Please give me viewssssss art release every 5k ~~~~ *read till at least the second chapter before you decide to ditch it pls* - UPDATES RANDOMLY (deal with it, suckers!) CHAPTER EIGHT - Noa's a stalker (but not really)

CHAPTER EIGHT - Noa's a stalker (but not really)

~~ 300 years ago, the original life ~~~~

Noa dashed down the streets, now abandoned. Behind him, angels roared and spewed fiery plumes into the sky, raining embers. Raising an arm over her head to shield his eyes, Noa dashed into a cave before any embers struck him.

It was a small, dirty cave, barely big enough for him to sit inside. It's more of a nook, then. Some prince he was. Not even that anymore, since everyone he was supposed to protect was dead. Clutching his legs a bit tighter, he watched fires blaze all over the place. Next to him was a small cottage. There was nothing he could do. aside from watching, as his empire burned.

And then, there was a small silhouette. Of a person. A woman, more like. She was holding a gleaming sword. Noa watched as she paused to look somewhere in the cottage.

"I'm sorry I failed you."

Her voice was so riddled with sorrow, that Noa felt that he should step out and offer some words of comfort, but his legs were rooted to the spot. Then, suddenly the human's head snapped up, and Noa's did too. An ever-familiar blue eye was studying the human. An angel. The human was talking to it. What? And then, a final word rang out. "No."

The human fell backward, and the angel let out a final plume into the sky, before flying away. As soon as it was gone, Noa scrambled up to shake the human's shoulder. Nothing. She was dead. Just to check, he tapped her wrist. No pulse either. Oh, but there was something Noa wanted to say.

"If there's a such thing as second chances, I hope you get one too, or that I, at least, can help you out."
