Chapter One

"CandyLayla! Bring us our lunch" the Alpha's son who is the future Alpha of my pack roared at me from the dining table.

If there is any definition of a girl so fed up of life and had a name, she would be called CandyLaya.

At the tender age of 17, I had tasted every kind of torture available in this world from almost every member of my pack. The Blackmoon pack was no longer the pack I used to know and used to love.

I just prayed to find my mate and leave this life of torture and pain.

I quickly tied my long black hair into a ponytail and carried the tray of food to the table.

"It's about time you brought us our meals bum " the alpha's son spat at me.

Killian took a liking in bullying me for reasons known to him only.

"I'm sorry Future Alpha Killian" I apologised to him.

He glared at me and dismissed me harshly.

I didn't mind how many times he insulted me , as long as, he didn't hit me, which he had done many times before.

I walked to my room in the attic and lay down on my small hard bed and begun reminiscing about my former life when my parents were alive.

A teardrop escaped her eye. She missed her parents so much.

"CandyLaya!!!" She heard her name being roared downstairs.

She cleaned her face up and rushed downstairs.

She saw the pack members glare at her.

"Come here you bitch!" Killian snapped at her.

She gulped as she paced towards him with meditated steps. He looked very angry.

"How may I be of assistance to you Master Killian" she said with fear in her voice.

He smirked sinister,

"Do you realise that this food has no salt in it?!" He said calmly but with hate in his tone.

"I'm sorry Master Kill-" she couldn't even end the statement when a hand smacked her viciously against her cheek throwing her off her feet.

She held unto her slapped cheek as she looked at him in shock. It wasn't her fast time but this time, he hit her unreasonably.

"Get up and go start preparing for my birthday. It's in two days. I want everything perfect alright?!" He commanded.

"Y-Yes Master Killian" she feebly as she rose up and walked to the kitchen.

She couldn't help but break down in tears. She was being treated so badly in her own family.

She begun scrubbing the pots and washing the dishes. She finished after a while and begun sweeping and dusting the house. Her best friend Maya had gone to school. She was her only friend and the daughter of the Alpha.

After sweeping and mopping, she was so exhausted. Luckily the entire pack wasn't home. Probably had gone for a run or an important meeting. She had a few hours to rest and relax her mind and body.

Her wolf Kayla had been restless for quite a while now. It was obvious that she could sense her mate closer.

Candy didn't want a mate, she just wanted freedom but she had to stay here, in order to please her wolf Kayla.

Candy had an extraordinary wolf. She hadn't shifted in front of the other wolves including her best friend Maya, so they all thought that her wolf was dead.

Her wolf was a pure white wolf with a pentagram and a crescent Blue Moon engraved in it on her forehead.

She was the most beautiful wolf she knew. She had seen every other member on their wolf for before, but none of them's beauty matched io to hers.

It was a fact that she spoke not that she was boasting. She hardly spoke to anyone except for Maya and Kayla of course.

She walked to her room and laid down on her bed and took a nap.

CandyLaya woke up panting. That was the strangest dream she had had in a while.

Her dreams were usually horrendous but this particular dream made her feel extremely troubled.

" What kind of dream was that?" She asked herself.

The door to her room suddenly barged open and an excited looking Maya walked in.

"Hello Candy bae.Guess what? " she said happily as she hugged her best friend CandyLaya.

She hugged her bestfriend back.

"Tell me girl" she said.

"Well, I've found my mate hun.His name is Troy. He's so cute " Maya begun describing her mate.

Candy stared at her and smiled at her. She was happy for her friend.

'I hope we find our mate soon too' her wolf said to her.

She smiled and nodded.

"I hope you find your mate soon ,so that my jerk of a brother stops pestering you" Candy heard her friend say.

She just smiled but inwardly, she didn't want a mate for herself but for her wolf.

"Thank you hun" she acknowledged her best friend's concern for her.

After speaking for a while, Maya left to her room, while Candy sat down and wrote in her journal.

'Today, my best friend Maya found her mate. I'm so happy for her. I wish I never find my mate, if he's going to be as bad as everyone. Today, Killian smacked me on the cheem so hard I lost my balance and fell.

I wonder if he would ever be a good Alpha. He's so mean to me and others too.

Anyway, the cure to the pain, is more pain'

After writing in her journal, she closed it and hid it under her bed.

One day, all her pain would disappear. She was assured of that.

But for now, she had to endure this pain.
