1 Chapter 1

In Osprey, Florida, USA, two friends were on their way to school. Today was a very important day. Today, the two girls had their Grade 3 Mathematics FSA. Anneliese, the quieter of the two friends, was in a car, and her dad was driving to school. Her mother was on the phone. Anneliese looked out the window: buildings speeding by, trees blowing in the breeze. Anneliese's mother said, "I know you're going to pass that exam,".

Then, the car stopped at the left turn light. The driver and passenger waited and waited. Anneliese's dad couldn't wait any longer: he had to do the thing. "NO! DON'T DO IT, DON'T DO IT, DON'T..." Anneliese yelled. But it was too late. Her dad has changed lanes and was now speeding down the long way to school.

Now both girls were at school.
