Anita [REGRET BEING A MERMAID]. part 3

I was still in my room sleeping when my mum shouted my name from downstairs.

Mum: Anita!!

Mum: Anita come downstair immediately.

I stood up from my bed and stretched myself.

Me: owwwww!!

I yawned lazily as I made my way downstairs to meet my mum.

Mum: what really happened to you when you went out to meet your friends?

Me: nothing mum.

Mum: do you know that since you came back from your friend's place you have slept for over six hours?

Me: what!!!!!!

I checked the time which was reading 9:30 pm and I could remember vividly well that I entered inside my house around 2:45pm. Is it because I went to a spiritual place or because of the herbs I ate?

Me: nothing mum, I am okay.

Mum: ok, go and brush your teeth before meeting your dad, he is waiting for you, also your food is on the dining table. Just be fast you hear?

Me: yes mum.

I said as I hurriedly went upstair. I brushed my teeth and came back to meet my dad who was watching channels news by then.

Meet my dad, average in height but a robust man. He is dark in complexion while my mum and I are exactly his opposite. He is not a womaniser, he doesn't cheat, he loves doing things on time and he loves people who are good and well mannered. He goes to work early in the morning and comes back late in the night. He is always protected by two policemen, segun and frank. That's enough for now, you will know him better as the story progresses.

Dad: the most beautiful princess I have ever seen.

Me: blushed

Dad: what happened to you. I came back and you were sleeping, that's odd.

Me: what do you mean dad?

Dad: you don't normally sleep in the afternoon, remember you hate it because you said those that sleep during midday are usually fat.

Me: I was tired that's all.

Dad: ok, your food is on the dining table, go and eat.

I rushed to the dining table, there was two plates covered there. I opened the first one, fried rice and chicken. I opened the second, it was filled pepper soup containing liver, heart and other things gotten from goat.

I quickly rushed my food, came back to the sitting room to greet my dad and mum before heading upstairs for the final sleep against tomorrow.

I know for sure Tracy will come and meet me in schools. But the problem is I am not willing to see her. To hell with her god forsaking beauty but damn, she is really beautiful. What a twist!

EARLY MORNING NEXT DAY…

I got up from my bed. Did my morning prayers before going over to my dad's room.

Me: good morning dad, good morning mum.

Dad: good morning my princess.

Mum: good morning Diana, how was your night?

Me: cool mum.

I said as I went back to my room where I entered inside my bathroom. I brushed my teeth and took my bath before coming out of the bathroom.

I got to where I kept my make up kit where I took my cream, applied it allover my body. Then I brought out my uniform.

White shirt, black skirt and a black tie to match. I wore my uniform sat down, did a little make up on my face and looked at the mirror.

Me: wow, Anita! You are so pretty.

I said to myself. I wore my white socks and pair of brown sandals before going downstairs.

Mum: Anita my dear, your food is ready.

Me: ok mum.

I said as I joined them on the dining table. Our food this morning is tea, two slices of bread and alot of fried eggs.

As usuall, my dad was the first to finish his meal. He pecked me and my mum, took his suitcase and left to work.

When I was through, I took my bag and met my mum.

Me: mum I will be leaving for school right away.

Mum: wait a minute.

She said as she reached for her purse, searched inside and brought out five thousand France notes.

Mum: take this for your lunch.

Me: thank you ma. See ya later.

I said as I left her happily. I got outside and my driver Emma was already waiting for me..

I looked everywhere to see if my dad left his red SUV car, my favourite. Unfortunately for me, he took it to work.

Me: let's use this one instead.

I said pointing to a black BMW.

Emma: ok.

He said as we got inside. Me sitting at the back seat. He started the car and we drove off to school.

Emergence PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL

Time check 8:30am

we got to school late as usuall. Well, nobody dares to talk to me. They know who my dad is.

I came out of the car and waved Emma good bye as he drove the car out of the school vicinity. I got inside the classroom and they were studying chemistry.

Me: good morning miss gift.

Miss Gift [our chemistry teacher]: good morning madam. Thank God you have arrived. We have gone far and I am not going back again. Collect the note from your friends if you care to know what you missed.

I walked to my sit. Everyone looking at me, well not like before since Tracy have over shadowed my beauty.

Speaking of Tracy, I looked around and saw her. As usuall, she was sitting alone. She kept looking at me while I quickly dodged her stare. I got to my sit and sat down.

Joy: good morning Anita.

Meet joy, my only friend in ss3. She is lucky I choosed her as my friend. She is very beautiful but not as beautiful as me. She is also very clever and her dad is stinkly rich. We were the most beautiful girls in school before Tracy came. Unlike me, Joy didn't care. She never felt as if Tracy ever existed. Anytime I ask her if she isn't bother at the way Tracy's beauty surpasses ours, her reply was always "I AM HERE TO READ MY BOOK NOT FOR BEAUTY PAGENT"

Me: morning Joy.

I said as I sat down, turned around and yet, Tracy was still there looking at me.

Me: oh God, how am I going to overcome this?
