264 264. Journey Back

Two more years passed.

The Adventurers Guild firmly took it's place in the world. A lot of missions kept flooding in encouraging a lot of people to take the profession as an adventurer.

And wthout the influence of the World Government every country started to prosper. Dragon was able to annex those countries who oppressed their people, and from them rose new rulers.

With the prosperity of every country merchants started to become active. Thus the missions assigned to the guild had plentiful rewards.

There was one incident that was worth notice.

Approximately a year ago, a class C adventurer group got involved in the assassination of a country's king.

When the Guild got word of it two class S Adventurers were mobilized. In the end every adventurer involved in that incident were killed, and their heads were hung infront of the Guild HQ for the world to see.

From that moment on the world knew of one absolute rule of the Guild. The guild nor it's adventurers shall never get involved in official matters of a country.

This rule will never be revoked unless under extreme circumstances, requiring the assistance of the guild.

With the booming of trades the research division under the navy, led by Dr. Vegapunk shifter a majority of their focus in creating convenience for travel.

New technologies were researched and developed for better travel. Even going to and from the four seas became possible due to the invention of a particular technology.

Adventurer Guild HQ.

The docks were filled with ships coming and going with a lot of adventurers moving around.

Most of them wore the insignia of their group on their chest.

"Captain Momonga, will we be fine? This is a 100 million mission after all."

A young man with a sword on his waist asked cautiously.

Before Momonga could answer another man next to him smiled and said, "Relax, rookie. This ain't the first time we are going for a 100 hundred million mission."

Momonga nodded, "You just joined the Guild and our group, so your aren't familiar with it's working."

Someone else beside Momonga explained, "Every mission is graded from D to S. Detailed info is gathered by the guild before the mission grade is allocated. The guild is very particular about this issue, as nothing is allowed to go wrong when the grade is being assigned."

The young man listened carefully before nodding.

Their group just entered the lobby when they came across another group.

"Momonga! It's been a while."

A big man wearing a dog cap walked upto to Momonga and gave him a bear hug.

Momonga laughed, "Yeah. It's been a while Dalmatian. You here to take a new mission?"

Dalmatian nodded, "I saw one with a good reward. I hope no one beat me to it."

They talked and walked to the mission board. Momonga took the mission he fancied. He looked at Dalmatian who was still searching for the mission and asked.

"Someone else took it?"

Dalmatian sighed regretfully, "Yeah. Shame, I thought I could earn a bit more."

Momonga elbowed the guy and chided, "You bastard. You earned quite a bit in these two years, don't tell me you spent it all."

Dalmatian shook his head, "Nah. I'm saving up for my retirement. When I leave this all behind I want to be able to enjoy my booze and have a nice nap whenever I want without a care in the world."

Haha.

Both of them laughed.

As Momonga was submitting the mission to be put under his name Dalmatian asked the pretty woman at the counter.

"Shirley, who took the 150 million mission?"

The pretty woman with curly hair paused for a second before saying, "That kid Coby."

"No wonder...

Dalmatian and Momonga understood. Coby was part of Akainu's team. Over the past two years their group mostly took extermination missions.

With his mission gone Dalmatian took another one and left with Momonga.

At the top floor of the Guild.

A lot of people were gathered today.

Aokiji, Kuzan, Garp, Sengoku, Issho, Z, Tsuru, Dragon... the list goes on. Every person present at this moment would be an important personnel wherever they go.

"This is farewell, everyone."

Leo stood with Shinobu as he looked at everyone with emotion. Snow who had changed her size was perched on Leo's shoulder.

Garp walked upto Leo and patted his shoulder, "Take care, brat."

Leo smiled, "I will."

He turned his focus onto a young girl and said, "Tama... make sure you take care of yourself."

Tama had gone tall after two years. Her hair was long and her cheeks were ruddy. Right now her eyes were brimming with tears.

"Big brother, big sister...

She couldn't keep her emotions in check and ran straight into Shinobu's arms.

"There, there, don't cry alright."

Tama stopped after a while and sniffled. Her eyes were red as she looked at Leo and Shinobu.

"Will I see you again?"

Leo and Shinobu looked at each other and sighed helplessly.

"To be honest, there is a 99 percent chance you won't. But... the future is unpredictable. Who knows? Maybe one day we will be stranded in this world again."

Tama chose to accept the latter part of that sentence and comforted herself.

Leo turned to everyone and said, "It's been a pleasure knowing all of you. Take care and live well. And, Aokiji-san, you aren't young anymore. Try to settle down rather than changing girlfriends every now and then."

Aokiji's face twitched when he heard Leo, "Mind your own business."

A few laugh rang out among the crowd.

At the back a person was watching Leo and Shinobu with complicated emotions in his eyes.

"Akainu-san, aren't you going to say goodbye?"

A young man who stood beside Akainu asked.

This young man was of course Coby.

Akainu didn't speak and stayed silent all the way through.

From the corner of his eyes Leo caught sight of Akainu and his team. He saw Coby waving his hand at him and nodded with a smile.

"Then, everyone, goodbye."

As he spoke Leo took out the Dragon - Tiger medallion and injected his spiritual energy into it.

A dazzling glow of light erupted from the medallion and enveloped them.

The crowd watched as the light disappeared from the spot along with Leo and Shinobu.

"He is gone...

"Yeah. To think he was from a different world...

"But I am glad he was here. Would the world be like this if it wasn't for him?"

"That's true."

Everyone dispersed and went on with their work. They would forever remember his deeds in their heart, and the world will know him through historical books.
