9 Chapter 8:

Sitting in front of the table, Shiro gazed at Scàthach who was sipping her drink that he served for her.

" What are you staring at Master?" Scàthach noticed Shiro's gaze and asked.

" What do you mean by earlier?" Shiro couldn't help but think something was wrong, he was ready to pull out his Zanpakuto but this woman suddenly said he passed, it made no sense to him.

" Just like what it means, you passed," Scàthach said.

Shiro touched the bridge of his nose, he was glad that no fight occurred but he wanted an explanation.

" How did I pass? I thought for a moment you would fight me to see if I am worthy or not."

Scàthach bought down her drink and said. " What I like are courageous people, not just ordinary warriors; nor, just any foolhardy brutes, The way you talked with conviction in the face of someone stronger than you, made you worthy."

Shiro was silent, he nodded his head and then asked the two other people sitting beside them.

" So what are we going to do after this?"

Hajime who was silent since earlier answered. " We're going to explore the mansion, We might find treasures inside."

" Hn, Given this is the Mavericks Lair, There had to be treasure here or somewhere," Yue said.

Shiro nodded at their words and transformed into his cat form, He jumped from his seat and sat on Scàthach's shoulder, " Let's go, we wouldn't want to make those treasures wait for us right?"

Hearing his words Hajime smirked and Yue smiled, While Scàthach didn't mind Shiro on her shoulders she stared at their interaction with an amused expression.

" Let's go Scàthach!" Scàthach nodded and stood up.

Hajime and Yue walked in front followed by Scàthach and Shiro on her shoulder.

[ Shiro POV ]

Walking through the corridors of the mansion, we have seen many doors and opened each one of them, some of them are just ordinary rooms while others were Library where we found a large number of books of many kinds, a Workshop where we found blueprints of mechanical devices and Equipments and the most important above all them.

" OHH! A HOT SPRING!!!" Me and Hajime.

Yep, A Japanese like reaction, Hot spring is a very good experience, imagine after training, Soaking your whole body inside the hot water, Ha~

" Mm~ It's just at the right temperature!" Hajime said putting his hand on the water.

" Ah~ I am so going to soak here later!" Hot springs are good, It helps the body to rejuvenate and relieve the fatigue the body has accumulated, and it's been 4 months since I took a good bath, and I can't wait to do it!!

" Hm, ~ Hot spring is good." Scàthach also nodded in agreement.

After that we explored the mansion and found many rooms, the Mansion is a two-story house and it's quite large, In the first floor it had 10 rooms with different purposes, While the second floor is very mysterious because some of the rooms wouldn't open its door, As if its locked, We ignored and continued to walk until we arrive in the last room of the floor.

Stepping inside the room, The Magic stones that were imbued on the walls produced light, slowly all of the stones light making the room clearer.

The room was quite big and spacious, there was not much furniture inside but something caught our attention.

" Skeleton? "

In the corner of the room, a large throne with the skeleton remains of a man sat, the skeleton was still wearing the same clothes before he died.

Jumping out of scàthach's shoulder, Hajime and I walked forward, however, when we arrived in the center, a Red Magic circle appeared under us.

I was about to escape together with Hajime but My head was assaulted with information, It has the same feeling when I got my memories after reincarnating less painful, The information was slowly engraved inside my head.

Then suddenly a Silhouette of a person popped out of the skeleton, The person had very long hair that was tied on his back, and the person wore eyeglasses and the same Black outfit the Skeleton was wearing.

Scàthach and I weren't surprised about this person, however, the same couldn't be said for the other two, Hajime held the holster of his gun and Yue pointed her hands forward ready to shoot magic.

" It's okay, That person is not alive, he's just a projection," I spoke to calm down Hajime and Yue.

Hajime narrowed his eyes and observed the person for a few seconds, then he relaxed together with Yue seeing it was not harmful.

" I'm Oscar Orcus the one who built this Labyrinth, You who overcomes the trials, Good job arriving in this place."

Starting from that Oscar Orcus began to explain what they are, who they were, and their purpose, Oscar stated how The Gods of this world are the ones who caused the wars and that he only saw them as entertainment for his boredom, And that they are the people who discovered this truth, [ Liberators ] or what others call them, They are the organization that once hoped for the world to become a better place, to prevent the god from doing what he wants, The main purpose of their group is to stop the Mad God from Manipulating the people of the world and to free them from the shackles that he created.

However, Oscar stated that they failed to beat the Mad gods before they could even move because he manipulated the mass, Branding them as the traitors of the Humanities who hoped to destroy the world, One by one they were hunted by the people they swore to protect until only 6 of them left, deciding that they couldn't defeat the mad god, they split apart building the labyrinth, set trials to the people who come, and to reward their powers and knowledge to those overcome, Hoping that One day Someone will appear, Someone will use their powers to defeat the Mad gods.

" I sincerely hope that your fate will be a good one." After saying that Oscar Orcus vanished.

" Ugh! /Ahg!!" Me / Hajime

However at that moment, A surge of Information was engraving inside my head, And this time it was more painful, I held my head and groaned, I noticed that Hajime was the same

" Master!! / Hajime!!" Scàthach | Yue

After a few seconds, the pain disappeared, I looked at hajime and noticed his astonishment, Well that's to be expected, Oscar engraved his Knowledge about the Mad Gods and his Magic to us.

" After learning all of this, What are you going to do from now on Hajime?" I asked.

Hajime stared at me for a moment then said. " Just like I said before, What happens in this world is not my problem, I want to return home, that's all!"

" I see.." I smiled, In the Light Novel others might see Hajime is a very selfish and brutal person, but for me, he is just a desperate person who wants to go home, He who was 'kidnapped' by the people of this world and was betrayed by his 'Classmate' wants to have peace, He who have endured the loneliness, He who survived facing countless creatures that could wipe an entire army, He who had lost his humanity wants to return, he wants to return home to his family..

" Then I would like to accompany you on your journey, though our objectives may be different, I want no- We would like to go on an adventure with you guys. " That is something me and Scàthach had decided, I already informed her about my decision, and she was not against it.

" Different Objectives? What do you mean?" Hajime asked calmly.

For Hajime to go back home he needs to conquer other labyrinths in order to find a Magic that could transport him back to his original world and Conquering Labyrinth means Adventure! Before I leave this place, I want to have an Adventure, Exploring many places and eating many kinds of Foods in this world.

" Just like you said before your Objective is to find a way for you to go home, My Objective is to kill the Mad God that has been terrorizing this world." To say that Hajime and Yue were surprised was an understatement, I literally saw their eyes widen and jaw-dropping hearing my words.

I ignored their shocked expression and continued speaking " And to do that I need more power, In a sense we walk in the same direction but have completely different reasons, You need to conquer another labyrinth to find the Magic to go back to your home world While for me, I need to conquer the other labyrinth to gain more power to kill the Mad god."

I stared at Hajime for a while as he closed his eyes thinking, After a second he opened his eyes and faced me.

" Okay I understand you, However " Hajime paused then released his Magic pressure with killing intent. " If I ever notice of sense that you are going to betray me, I will not hesitate to kill you."

"...."

"..."

"Pfft- Hahahahahaha I see, I see, Then please do so." I laughed hard hearing him, It was foolish for him to release his killing intent and magic pressure after seeing my strength but I understand him, ' Even if you kill that Giant Monster, Don't ever think that I'm afraid of you. ' That's what he wants to tell.

"Hmph!" Hajime said and turned around.

It seems he also understood my sudden laughing outburst, I also noticed Scàthach's amusement when I looked into her eyes.

Then again, This is going to be a long adventure.
