The Mysterious Client's Commission!

Chapter 58: The Mysterious Client's Commission!

Seeing Loki's irritated expression, Dionysus decided to get straight to the point.

"There's been a sudden surge of monsters on the 24th floor. The task I issued has been hidden by the Guild."

"The 24th floor?" Upon hearing this, Loki was certain that Ais was caught in the middle of this chaos.

She immediately yelled at Shiro, "Torajirou! Go get Bete and Lefiya to support Ais! Something's definitely wrong there!"

Dionysus narrowed his eyes, observing Loki's sudden change in demeanor.

"Will three people be enough? Although I brought this up, I sense great danger emanating from the 24th floor."

"There's no other way. Everyone else has their own tasks, and we can't spare any more high-level combatants," Loki replied, maintaining her guard even in this critical situation.

She had no intention of revealing the whereabouts of Finn and the others.

Realizing that Loki's side had limited personnel, Dionysus turned to his own Familia member.

"Filvis, you should go and help them."

The elf girl's eyes widened in surprise, and Loki also looked like she couldn't believe what he was saying.

"Wait! If I leave, who will protect you, Dionysus-sama?" Filvis protested.

"Listen, Filvis. It was my request that led Sword Princess into this mess, so we must show our sincerity." Dionysus explained, his tone serious yet persuasive.

"Besides, gaining their trust is paramount now, and trust is earned through actions, not words. You should understand this, Filvis."

"But..." Filvis hesitated, her gaze wavering.

Dionysus stood up from his chair, his emerald eyes staring directly into hers.

"I understand..." Filvis finally relented, nodding reluctantly.

Dionysus then turned to Loki and straightened his posture.

"If you would allow it, please let my Familia accompany your team."

"Oh, I appreciate the gesture, but the weakest member of the team I sent is Level 3. Can your Familia keep up with them?"

Loki questioned, concerned that a weaker companion would hinder their progress.

"Filvis is the only Level 3 in my Familia, so you needn't worry about her being a hindrance." Dionysus assured the red-haired goddess.

"You have a Level 3 in your Familia?" Loki tilted her head, surprised by this revelation.

"I spent a considerable sum to have the information about Filvis withheld during the last Denatus. The child attracts too much attention due to certain circumstances," Dionysus explained vaguely.

Loki and Shiro exchanged glances, their curiosity was piqued, but the black-haired elf girl just stood there with her eyes closed, without the slightest intention to speak.

"Alright, we're short on manpower anyway. Torajirou, take Filvis and find Bete and the others." Loki conceded after thinking for a while.

After the commotion subsided, Shiro met up with Lefiya, who had hurriedly packed her belongings, and Bete at the entrance.

"It's you again," Bete grumbled seeing the black-haired elf, his face contorted in displeasure at the prospect of working with her.

It looked like he had encountered Filvis before and clearly wasn't fond of her.

"P-Pleased to meet you," Lefiya greeted the black-haired elf politely, but Filvis remained stoic, offering no response.

Filvis's attitude further fueled Bete's annoyance.

"If you dare slow us down, I won't hesitate to kick you away! So, get lost while you still can!" The werewolf snarled.

"Don't be stupid. I'm only here to help because of my God's orders, werewolf," Filvis retorted coldly.

"Both of you, quiet down!"

"Ugh..."

The tension between Bete and Filvis was palpable.

The lone werewolf and the prideful elf clashed at every turn, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for Shiro and Lefiya.

So, it was up to Shiro, the braver of the two, to intervene and prevent a full-blown argument.

Meanwhile…

Ais, who was exploring the Dungeon alone after leveling up, encountered the mysterious person who had previously commissioned Lulune.

The cloaked figure informed her about the surge of monsters on the 24th floor and requested her assistance in investigating the matter.

Just as Ais was pondering why she had been chosen for this task, the figure revealed something that left her with no choice but to accept his commission.

'I sent Hashana to a location on the 30th floor where a similar incident occurred.'

Ais quickened her pace as she recalled the mysterious figure's words.

She swiftly traversed the floors, descending from the 10th to the 18th floor in record time.

Hashana was the name of the deceased armored adventurer.

This meant that investigating the incident on the 24th floor could lead her to that Beast Tamer.

This time, she was determined to discover how the Beast Tamer knew about the name "Aria".

With this thought in mind, Ais left the bustling town and followed the path provided by the cloaked figure.

Soon, she arrived at the northern part of the town, stopping before a cave with a wide opening.

"There's actually a tavern here?"

Ais had visited Rivira several times and even rested there on some occasion, but she had never noticed this secluded little tavern tucked away in a hidden corner.

She pushed open the door and found all five tables occupied, except for one vacant seat at the counter.

The long counter displayed an array of colorful bottles containing popular alcoholic beverages from Orario.

A dwarf, most likely the tavern owner, stood behind the counter with a grumpy expression, wiping glasses.

The remaining seat was occupied by a beast-eared girl.

"Eh? Isn't this Sword Princess? Long time no see! I didn't expect to run into you here!"

The beast-eared girl immediately noticed Ais and greeted her enthusiastically.

"Lulune?."

It was Lulune, the same girl who had been involved in the orb incident last time.

"As a thank you for last time, let me buy you a drink!" Lulune offered with a cheerful smile.

Ais politely declined and, following the instructions given by the cloaked figure, took the second seat from the corner, which happened to be next to Lulune.

"What's your order?" The dwarf owner approached with a frown, asking for her order.

"Jagamarukun, matcha cream flavor," Ais stated, using the code phrase provided by the cloaked figure.

The moment she uttered those words, a loud crash resonated next to her

She turned to see Lulune sprawled on the floor, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"So, you... you're the reinforcement?"

The surrounding people reacted as well, abandoning their drinks and card games to fix their gazes upon the blond girl.

And Ais also understood that everyone in the tavern was one of the "helpers" mentioned by the cloaked figure, individuals who would assist her in her investigation.

Just as she was contemplating how to address them, an adventurer emerged from the crowd.

She had smooth, blue hair with a white streak at the front, matching blue eyes, a pure white cloak draped over her shoulders, shoes adorned with golden wings, and a belt laden with peculiar items.

Her entire being radiated an aura of intelligence and wisdom.

'Asfi Al Andromeda,' Ais recalled the other party's information in her mind.

The captain of Hermes Familia, one of the few "Mystery Holder" in Orario, the creator of countless valuable magic items, and also known as the "Perseus".
