Dazai One-Shot

After a full day of wandering around the town -visiting and sightseeing- you and Dazai were very tired. He was barely moving his legs forward, his neck bandages were revealing his wounds and his hair was all around the place.

The little wavy bangs were being blown by the wind, his sweat dripping from the sharp jaw on the collarbones.

You ,on the other side, were looking beautiful. The moon was reflecting into your glassy sharp eyes. Your breath was heavy and your cheeks were flushed.

Dazai looked over at you. He was smiling. Something you haven't seen in a long time. He grabbed your hand and began running forward like he had just forgot the long walk you two took. He was running and running, never once stopping to look at your confused expression.

After what seemed like an eternity ,he entered a big tall building by the lake. With his hand in yours, you got to the rooftop . Your breath slowed even more. It was beautiful. Before your eyes, the sight of an enormous empire of lights appeared. The city was drowned in a dreamy pink light. The sun was just hiding behind the mass of electric stars. On the other side of the roof, the lake revealed a mirror-like aspect. The sky was painting itself onto the calm waters.

Dazai guides you to the end of the concrete platform. He nods as if you two spoke about that moment already . He sheds a tear, and pushes you both into the abyss.

Falling down, you feel nothing but pleasure. Your heart is not racing, it is radiating peace. As you glance to see your soulmate, he grabs your face with his warm, long hands and softly kisses your cheek.

The water hits your skin with a huge power. You can't feel your body for a few seconds, then, the same hands pull you out. You gasp in exhaustion for air as he swims towards the shore with you laying on his back.

         He offers you his coat as he places your swollen body onto the glowing sand. As you admire the beauty of the countless stars, Dazai only looks at your tired face. He hugs you tight and thanks you for giving his life purpose again.
