CH. 109: Prophicized Battle of Gods
The raging battle continued for more than half an hour now. While Nyx was fighting the titans, the adventurers created opportunities for her to strike by grabbing their agro.
Akira watched the battle from his high sky and contents himself with the simple seat of spectator, simply watching the ending climax of the fight and the great unfolding of the unfinished Danmachi novel.
And out of nowhere, a glowing figure appeared right beside him. Its hair materialized and fell on its shoulders like a waterfall of silver ice. "I received your call darling~" She said once she took complete form.
None other than Alice. Akira's official wife that brags about her alliance ring all the time. "Thanks for coming Alice" He greeted her. Alice laughed a second, "Kufufu~ You know I had to come when I received your call~... Besides, I treasure every second I spend with you~" She said.
Sharing that sweet moment, Akira asked, "Nyx against the strongest Titans of Greece. Who do you think would win?" He asked.
She put her hand on her chin as she thought for a second, "Would you like to receive an accurate response from the future?" She asked. "No, I just asked for your personal predictions" He replied.
"Personally, Nyx doesn't seem to be in a good state. If it continues like this, it won't be the happy ending for her." Alice expressed her opinion of the current situation.
Casualties were increasing heavily and she still hasn't figured out a way to stop her Titans. Ais Wallenstein was also starting to feel exhaustion, as well as Ottar. But the two continued non-stop, Ottar was ordered not to stop until the threats were down and Ais knew that stopping would engrave the situation more than what it already is.
And from the heart of the action, the main antagonist lifts his hands in a symphonic monotonie and orders for destruction, "Let there be carnage..." He says.
Hearing the order, the Titans roared angrily. Lythos the mountain crushed the ground using his huge legs and destroyed everything beneath him.
"..!!!" Ais noticed this sudden trigger within the monsters. Her movements became faster by the second as she went all out.
*KABOOOM*
Ais jumped on Lythos's legs and used her high agility and speed to run across his rock skin. Lythos was annoyed by this ant that crawled on his body. Spikes started appearing on Ais' path, avoiding every single one by using slalom movements she was able to cross his lower body.
Lythos began shaking his body intensely, moving left and right with great force to make her collapse on the ground. "Th—This..!!" She inserted her enchanted sword inside his skin and held tightly to it.
From afar, her comrades noticed how Ais was struggling on getting to Lythos's head. "We must help her!!" Finn shouted. "Sh—She's too far away!! No long range spell can reach such distance!" Gareth replied. Finn looked at Ais once again with a frustrated expression, "Damn it!" He cursed.
While Ais was being shaken, boulders and huge rocks fell from Lythos's upper body. Ais could only move to different angles in order to avoid the falling debris.
"That's my chance!" Nyx created a sphere in her hands and striked it on Lythos while his guard was low. The black sphere closed the distance quickly and exploded on his stomach. "GRAAH!!" Lythos groaned as he was knocked back a bit. And that huge momentum which shook Lythos completely was enough to blow Ais away. She was thrown from a hundred meters up and fell with great speed towards the ground while still holding her sword.
"I GOT YOU!" If it weren't for Nyx teleporting right below her and catching her, it would have being a completely other story. Ais shook her head a bit as she regained consciousness. The thing meeting her sight was the hypnotizing gaze of Nyx whom just saved her.
"Y-You..." Ais mumbled in shock and surprise.
Nyx didn't mutter a word. She simply let go of Ais and put her down on the ground while she went back to fighting against the titans. It looked very bad for her, she still have not figured out a way to inflict deadly damage. But when she does, it'll be the end.
"You know you haven't done a single damage, right?" Akira said, as he appeared right next to Nyx and spoke facts.
"K-Kyaar! You scared me!!" She cried, shocked of his sudden and random apparition.
"Look." Akira requested, pointing at the soldiers and adventurers at the distance, falling one by one like flies while she struggled against the opponents.
"You ought to find a solution quickly. Something is gonna happen soon, and you won't like it." Akira said indifferently.
"Wh-What do you mean by that?!" She asked, surprised.
Suddenly, the aspect of the sky changed almost immediately. Earthquakes shattered the lands and swollen everything that's standing above,
"It'll be the end of Orario. No, it'll be the end of the world if you don't stop Hades. But for that, you'll need to defeat the titans first. Clock is ticking darling." Akira ended, disappearing once again and leaving Nyx alone there.
Rifts appeared around the entire senary. Space-time around everyone became overwhelmingly unstable, people died of unknown causes. The numbers dropped to less than a hundred left excluding the immortal gods.
As if the world had stopped around her, Nyx found herself in a blacked out domain formed by the extreme focus produced by her mind and potential ideas colliding with each other, trying to create an efficient stratagem that could lead her to the imminent victory.
Nyx's instincts let her turn around quickly. She saw that the blonde girl she saved from before was struggling a lot, against the quakes. Nyx quickly teleported beside Ais then repeated the process, collecting as many individuals as possible. Even though the titans were extremely heavy, their mass didn't affect the shattering ground below them.
"Listen closely! If you want to overcome this, I'll be in need of your help. You don't need to know my name, but just distract the titans while I deal with Hades." Nyx explained to them.
Needless to say that the group of survivors were startled because of her, emotionally unstable as they've watched so many of their comrades die, despairing— almost seeing their deaths in front of themselves. But still, they decided to groan their fighting spirit out and continue till the end.
"We'll do as you say! I'll be everyone's sword!" Ais yelled out, pulling out her sword and getting in a fighting position.
Nyx points her finger at Stratos the tornado titan. "He's our key to victory. We'll use their powers against them!" Nyx said. Receiving a nod from the survivors. The latters jumped from their positions and started making moves in order to attract the titans.
And while these fighters were doing their best, Hades was standing on a stony platform, chanting a deadly forbidden spell which was potent enough to end the entire world.
"Warum zum teufel hast du das ubersetzt!!" These words repeated themselves like a chorus in the ears of every living tissue on this world. Literal horns grew on Hades's head as his almost divine like aura and appearance shifted to that of the devil. But after all, he IS the god of the Underworld, a devil on its own.
A red aura enveloped the god. From the same rifts surrounding them, dark spiky tentacles came out and destroyed everything on their path, making the humans' mission against Hades even more difficult.
Even with this seemingly impossible difficulty, the humans made all kinds of movements which infuriate the titans, "GROAAAAAAAAAR!!" They shouted, running around the humans. "Come catch us you freaks!!" They said.
The same thing repeated with all four of them. United in one place, Nyx descended to earth and waited for Ais to bypass her as Stratos followed her.
"I've got his attention. The rest is up to you! Please save us!" Ais pleaded on behalf of everyone. The immense tornado swallowed everything on its path towards Ais, "Blooooow....." It roared with an indistinguishable yet thin windy voice.
"Alright!" Nyx jumped back at the sky and locked her attack at Stratos. She stockpiled her entire dark energy and started casting a spell so powerful she could seal an entire titan. However, she won't be getting any other chance, this is her only try and if she misses it'd be the end, a calamity in short.
The dark sphere, representing the seal, had spectral chains launching at the target and neutralizing it, "Bloooown..." The titan roared, confused. Looking around he noticed spectral ghostly chains covering his tornado parts and preventing him from going anywhere.
"It's now or never!!" She yelled out, with the spell getting bigger and stronger.
"Behold! [DARK ABYSS] !!" Nyx yelled out. The sphere of darkness broke into a thousand pieces, millions of dark spectral chains launched at Stratos and completely immobilized him.
"...!!!!!!" Even with all his strength, he couldn't overpower them chains. He broke a good ten amount of them but they'd instantly regenerate, making his body even windier he tried fighting back and freeing himself, only to get swollen by the real deal.
If Stratos was a tornado, Nyx's [Dark Abyss] sealing spell was a gluttonous anti-cyclone— the very thing responsible for the formation of a giant tornado.
Hades watched as Stratos was devoured by Nyx's abyss. But now was no time for him to mourn at the loss of a titan. On the contrary, he smiled. One was down, but three were still remaining. The issue of this battle was going to decide the fate of the entire world.
