1 Chapter 1 : The Monster

Their mission was simple. They were to go and get this so-called monster reported for causing trouble in the orphanage and bring the new mutant back to the mansion. This would be simple. Professor Xavier himself had chosen to go on this mission. Wolverine and Storm were also with him. 

They arrived at the orphanage and saw a lady with blonde hair talking with a family who was adopting a little boy with black hair. Once she was done to the woman and man who just adopted the little.

Professor Xavier, Storm, and Wolverine walked over to the lady at the desk.

"Hello how can I help you," she asked.

"We came here for the monster everyone is talking about," Xavier explained.

"You sure that girl is extremely dangerous.  You don't want that child she not safe!" The lady exclaimed.

"Can you just take us to the girl?" Wolverine asked annoyed.

"Alright follow me but don't say I didn't wear you of how dangerous she is, " The blonde lady said leading the way to where the monster was.

They then arrived at a room with a large steel door. That had a sign that says danger in bold letters on it.

"She is in here but be careful already hurt multiple kids. Plus she scares every adult so she never gets adopted." The lady said before walking away.

Xavier, Storm, and Wolverine walked into the room and see a kid wearing a black cloak sitting on a broken bed. They also saw scratch marks all over the walls.

"Hello Amber, " Professor X said causing Amber to turn around a little bit.

"You can go ahead and leave like everyone else. You just end up being afraid of me once you see my face, " Amber said.

Storm then walked over to Amber and put a hand on her shoulder.

"No young Child we came here to take you out of here. We want to help, " she said.

"Why would you help a monster like!" Amber shouted clawing the wall with her cat claws.

"You're wrong Amber your not a monster. You a mutant who just needs help learning how to control your abilities. Where just like you, " Professor X said smiling at Amber.

"What do you mean you just like me you all look normal unlike me, " Amber said not believing them.

Wolverine then extracted his metal claws from his knuckles. Amber eyes then widened seeing that they were just like her.

"You really or like me. So you know what it's like to be different just like me, " She said removing her hood revealing purple eyes, and an orange furry cat feature face. She then stood up also revealed an orange furry tail.



"If I come with you. I won't be locked up alone anymore? But what about the people here?" She asked.

"They will not remember you were every here. But you will come with us to a place where no one can hurt you or treat you badly ever again, " Professor X explained.

"I come but who are you guys?" She asked grabbing Storm's hand and walking over towards the other two.

"We are the X-men and we help mutants find their way in the world. Teach them to control their power, "Professor X explained.

"So where are we going?" She asked as they get in the car. Wolverine was driving and Professor X was in the front passenger seat. With Storm in the back sitting next to Amber.

"Back to the Xavier Institue for Gifted Youngster, " Storm tells her gently.

"There aren't many of us there, but I'll introduce you to Jean, Kurt, and Scott, " Storm told her. "But the professor has been picking up another mutant. Though has yet to identify it, " Storm explained.

"What your name?" Amber asked.

"Storm also known as Ororo, the one driving is Logan is also known as Wolverine and the other person is Professor Charles Xavier. But we mainly call him Professor except for Logan who calls him Charles, " I explained smiling.

"Why?" Amber asked confused.

"Logan is a lot older than he looks and is older than the Professor, " Storm replied.

"Healing powers?" Amber asked and Strom nodded.

"What are your powers kid?" Logan asked.

"I have enhanced hearing, night vision, course, and of animal enhance speed and strength. But I don't plan on using them, " Amber tells them.

"Why?" Storm asked shocked.

"I'm a monster all I do is hurt people with my powers. I just want to be normal but I will never be with my appearances, " Amber stated teary eye.

"Your not a monster or normal you have an amazing gift, " Professor X tells Amber.

"No gift, just a curse, " Amber stated still teary eye.

"Only if you let it be, " Storm tells her placing a hand on Amber's shoulder. "I felt the same way about my gift. Being able to control but I eventually learned to control it and use it to help people back at home, " Storm explained.

"I can kind of control it when I'm calm, but the caretakers and other kids always call me monster making me lose control," Amber explained.

"That won't happen again. You never be called a monster again and I will help you learn to keep you cool, " Professor X assured Amber.

"Yeah stick with us kid and you'll be safe, " Logan adds, Amber smiles and does off on Storm's shoulder. Storm wrapped her arm around Amber's shoulder as the Professors smiles at us. "Someone really should become the kid parent figure. She definitely looks like she wants one."

"How about you become her mother Storm. It looks like she starting to take a liking to you, " Professor X said.

"Maybe I will she seems like a wonderful kid, " Storm said smiling at Amber.
