1 Prologue

In a fierce battle where blood is flowing as a river, the sound of weapons fighting, and the shouting of thousands sodiers with elephants and horses makes clouds of dusts covering the bloody battlefield densely. On a mountain nearby, a couple of man and woman in black clothes are watching the frightening scene below intensely. Their faces show worries and painful expression as the war continues toward the extreme.

The lady is hugging her hands across her chest, watching the battle ground and saying, "The war today is no different from yesterday and will be the same as tomorrow. The battle path is covered by fresh blood. No matter who wins or loses, the bleeding is inevitable; whether injury or death is waiting ahead. Today our soldiers, friends and companions are bleeding. Tomorrow, the blood that flows on the land will be ours!"

She makes a sigh and continues saying with distressing tone, "I never think that both of us might have a day like this! When the sun rises tomorrow, it's time to end everything between us and face each other with our sharp weapons to life or death."

She turns to look at the man standing beside her and says, "From the moment we parted way on Mahendraparvata, I've been thinking quite a lot. Now, my mind is clear. Today I ask you to meet here because I want to tell you that I no longer blame you. Everything is destiny. We can only walk on the opposite road. From tomorrow onwards, I don't know who still have a breath to take and see the sunshine on the next new day, so today let's forgive and forget each other. No matter what we've done, let's end it here. I hope that you can solve your own heartknot. Tomorrow, surviving or death, we'll do for our nations. No one owes another anything!"

While she's done talking, the woman strides off without turning back, leaving only a painful shadow in the man's heart. He looks back to see the silhouette of the girl he loves the most in his whole life. He then makes a mocking smile glancing at the sky. There are many words burying in his heart but he cannot say them out loud because he knows that he doesn't even have a right to complain nor to explain. When she's near, he feels like being far away, unable to reach. Now she is so far, he suddenly feels that she's nearby; she never left and is always here in his heart, staying with him. Destiny, why are you playing with him like that? Does she know that her phrase-forgive and forget, is burning down his heart to dust. It's more painful than her hatred and revenge. She forgives and forgets everything with him means he's no longer in her heart. No matter what position he's before, currently he's just a speck of dust without any meaning, flying across her path and has no effect on her mind anymore.

He makes a sigh, closing his eyes, trying to hide his teardrops and quietly says to himself, "I will never forgive and forget everything with you. If next life does exist, I'll come back to serve you and stay by your side as one of your people. This life, we've no fate. I'd like to pray for you and swear to Gods that I will sacrifice everything including my life and soul just to meet you again in my next life for eternity!"

After coming back from the mountain, the lady rides a horse to the barrack while the sun is going to set down behind the mountain ranges. Those injured soldiers are arriving continuously. Some are held back on the wooden strechers ; others are dragging their exhausting bodies, tolerating the pain, walking with a stick coming toward the treatment room. Their blood are bleeding on the soil making the lady biting her lower lip, trying to hold back her emotion. For national independence, for saving her country from enemy's hand, to end this endless bloody war, and to save the lives of her soldiers and her people making them living in safety and prosperity, escaping from the control and torture of other country, she can do everything!

"You are doing the right thing, Sivarin!" A sound suddenly rings in her ears with a warm and soft hands touching her left shoulder.

She is awaken from her imagination by that sweet sound and turning to look at her best friend who is currently standing beside her. She said, "Kesara!"

Kesara smiles to encourage her best friend and says, "This is war; we don't only use hard weapons, but also mental attack! Tomorrow on the battlefield, you will use your sharp weapons, and today you are using your intelligence to fight! Creating an illusion for your enemy and killing him on his soft spot! Sivarintevy, you must know that your war isn't just for the victory or failure of anyone, but it's for the security, peace and freedom of our whole country. Tomorrow, no matter what, we have to win!"

Sivarin looks at her childhood friend, seeing the light of confidence in the latter's eyes. The former tries to smile, comforting herself. Right! They have to win! Today, meeting him on the top of the mountain isn't to forgive and forget as she said! He owed her too much. In this life, there is no way that she can forgive him even though he kneels down and begs for mercy for hundreds of reincarnations later. She won't ever forgive! He has to pay back those painful memories and her lost appropriately. "To Forgive And Forget" is just to confuse him, making him believing that and awaking his righteousness, guilty conscience, and regret in his mind. Tomorrow when he feels distress and giving up himself to fate, being in his weakest state, they will make a fatal blow, killing him right away. Destroying the enemy's great general is the path toward her victory.

After discussing the war plan and being prepared for the battle on the next day, Sivarin is now walking outside her tent. The cold windy night mixing with the smell of blood making her breathing deeply, looking at the moon and hundreds thousands of stars in the dark sky. She holds her red silk scarf tighly around her body against the coldness and speaks lightly, "Samutra, have you missed me? Are you staying on the moon looking at me right now? Tomorrow war, honestly speaking, I don't have any hope to win. However, Kesara is very confident. You say? Since young, I've been the only one who is the most stupid amongst us 4. I've never done things right once. Then, if she says that we will win, will we really be able to win? Today she told me to use mental attack toward that man. You know that I hate lies very much. I hate him lying to me, and using me, but finally, I used his method to deal with him. The person like him deserves to get this, right my Samutra? But why is my heart aching like this now? I've never thought that I and him, we both would one day walk to this stage. When did everything started? Why our destinies are like these? Till when can my heart stop being hurt?"

She closes her eyes, reminiscing everything in the past that was gone like a dream in a blink of an eye...
