104 Author's Thoughts

Thank you for reading Angel in the Pandemic! For all of you that have supported me, I hope that this novel has brought some semblance of joy to your lives, as simple and straightforward as this novel has been!

I initially wrote this novel as more of a 'heartwarming' tale where a young man caught in the pandemic would get healed by an angel. I wasn't trying to make a big deal about the novel so I didn't add the typical troupes that gave more drama to the story.

That's why it's relatively short. I have always wanted the story to only last a year to show how one year can change someone so differently. And it wasn't just Desir who changed. Althea had grown tremendously from her previous self and I'm sure that the two of them will continue to grow until the end of time. I had planned for the story to be about a hundred chapters and I'm glad that I have managed to hit this landmark!

I just wanted this story to be a 'feels good' novel that you don't have to tense your emotions while reading it. It's a weird thing to do, writing a novel like this and I hope I didn't fail your expectations.

As for whether I'll continue writing novels like this, I think that this will be my first and final 'feels good' novel. I initially wrote this novel to practise my first-person perspective writing and I think that I have gotten the hang of it. Also, I'm not sure if you guys feel the same, but I feel like this kind of story gets bland after a while. It happened in Otonari and other novels of this genre.

It's probably cause novels feed on drama and conflict. Like will the couple get together? Will there be something separating them? Is there some fiance or will the parents be against their relationship?

All of these tropes will be common in romance novels because it keeps the audience engaged and unless there's some other factor like action/adventure, the romance will begin to feel boring.

And well, I have written my fill of heartwarming! I wanted to make something like Otonari and I think I have satisfied my craving. I'm not sure how many of you liked this story and the ending, but I'm sticking to it!

As for what I'll write in the future… I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking of either writing a harem-action novel or a romance-magic novel. I'll figure it out in due time.

Alright! Once again, thank you all for reading Angel in the Pandemic. Special shoutout to Gryzmot who has been there from the beginning and has always commented on my novel just to let me know that there's someone reading it!

I pray that you guys will stay safe during this pandemic and find happiness with your perfect half!
