The Summer in Cambodia

Kingdom of Cambodia- On the outskirts of Cambodia's capital city, Phnom Penh, lies a dangerous town where criminal activity are through the roof. Not only limited to murder and human trafficking but also home to the world's most dangerous crime and drug rings.

The White Wolf counter-terrorism unit was assigned to rescue a Shanghai VIP who was kidnapped by a criminal leader named Prak. His crimes are not limited to smuggling drugs but also weapons and money laundering. Prak was a man in his 40s. He was fit, tall, and very intelligent. He have his own team of minions working for him from young to old.

The VIP was a well-known journalist and a university professor, Qiang Wei Lan. She was on a business trip to Cambodia when she encountered a group of gang. She was knocked unconscious and they brought her inside a hut. When she woke up, she saw a young man sitting in a chair. Wei Lan was tied up on a chair with her both hands behind the chair. They interrogated her because they thought she was a foreign spy.

Prak looked at her and to her DSLR camera. He sneered at her and spoke in Khmer (Official language in Cambodia), "You think I don't know what this is?"

Wei Lan replied in Khmer (she learned Khmer before coming to Cambodia), " Give back my camera! Why do you have it?!"

Prak stood up and went closer to Wei Lan. He stood in front of her and grabbed her cheeks with his right hand.

"I know you are a spy from China, why did you take the photos?" Prak asked sternly.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I was doing my job." Wei Lan replied angrily.

Prak gave the camera to one of his men and told him to break the camera. Then, he taped her mouth so she can't speak.

"Watch over her and make sure she doesn't leave. Do not hesitate to kill her." Prak spoke in Khmer and his men nodded. There are two men with rifles behind her and another two armored men outside the door. Wei Lan struggled to untie herself but she immediately quiet down when the muzzle of the rifle touched the back of her head.

"One more sound and you're dead." One of the men warned her sternly in Khmer. Wei Lan closed her eyes and prayed that someone will rescue her.

The White Wolf Counter-Terrorism Unit arrived in Cambodia within 48 hours. They were notified by the intelligence agency that Wei Lan is located few kilometers away from the capital city. White Wolf SWAT commander, Li Zhi An, and his team jumped into the van as the driver took them to their designated location.

The location was in a village with many stilt houses which consists of wooden piling that's extended from the ground. There were villagers in one area and in another area, one of the stilt houses was heavily barricaded. White Wolf unit set up their base not too close to the barricaded house. Along with other officers, Commander Li and his team discussed about their plans and tactics before rescuing Wei Lan.

After ten minutes, they finished discussing and Commander Li asked everyone to get ready.

One of the officers tapped on his shoulder, "Commander Li, are you sure we can do this? We might not have enough man power." Li Zhi An looked at them and replied calmly, "We can do this. Follow my instructions. Don't be afraid. Remember, first, we negotiate. We only shoot when it's the worst case scenario."

After several minutes, they got their necessary equipment. His team got out the bullet-proof shield and each of them got their assault rifles ready. Commander Li signalled his hand and asked two of them place explosives on the front door. He asked another two team members to go in the bushes and asked them to wait for his hand signal only.

One of Prak's men noticed him that police officers had them surrounded.

"Sir, we need to leave. How about the girl?" He asked.

Prak didn't look alarmed, "They can't do anything right now. Otherwise, she will die in our hands." Prak signalled his men to get their rifles ready and loaded.

Li Zhi An signalled his men to go back where they were and stay in their position until further notice.

In a short while, two of Prak's men came out of the front door while holding onto Wei Lan. The explosives can only be activated with a button so everyone is okay for now.

"We only want money otherwise she will die." One of the men shouted and Li Zhi An calmly replied, "We can talk this out but drop your gun. We can give you money, whatever the amount you ask for. She is very important to us. It will not end well on either side if you harm her. Understand?"

Then, another young man appeared and applauded.

"You really know how to negotiate. I know you want her alive but I can't keep her alive. She's a danger to us. I'm just helping you to get rid of her!" Prak smiled confidently and said, "I'll keep all of you intact only if you give us what we want and that is, this woman must die and you must give us money."

Commander Li spoke calmly, "She is not a spy, you were mistaken. Please ask your men to drop their weapon, we can talk it out. Okay?"

Prak was getting irritated so he grabbed a rifle from one of his men. Li Zhi An and the rest of the officers' guns and rifle were ready to fire at any give time.

"Last warning. Please drop your weapon. Or else we will shoot." Commander Li shouted.

The other two team members from White Wolf unit were in one of the bushes. They saw an officer in a SWAT uniform signalling them to fire. One of the them was confused so he asked his partner, "Did you see that? Who we are suppose to fire? Didn't Commander Li say to wait?" His partner replied, "I think we're suppose to shoot the three guys over there."

Two of them looked at the same guy signalling them to shoot. One of them got the rifles loaded and he started to aim at the guys.

"Hey, wait. That's not the commander! Stop!" His partner failed to stop the gunshot.

Wei Lan was accidentally shot in the head and one of Prak's men spotted the two members.

"Sir! They shot the girl! I saw them!"

The other two members knew they screwed up big times. Prak signalled them to eliminate the two SWAT officers.

In a blink of an eye, two of Commander Li's team mates were brutally shot and killed. They failed to save the VIP. Prak escaped safely while gunshot was everywhere. Multiple officers were injured and Commander Li clenched his fist. He was mad like hell.

When the gunfire ended, smoke was everywhere as well. Two other members who were with the Commander Li went to their team mate's side and sending them off quietly.

Li Zhi An went to his two team mates who died, "It was my fault, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you guys joined. I'm sorry." He was upset that they died so young, they just started their career. The paramedics came over and covered all of the dead bodies. Each of them was carried away for their family members to confirm the bodies.
