Serco’s POV starting Saturday

Serco's POV this past Saturday:

"I just wanted to hear your voice, bye now" I answered, then quickly ended the call.

"Are you seriously calling your girlfriend, right now?" The Afarion, who currently had my foot pressed on his neck, complained,

"Why have attacks become more frequent? What are you planning?" I asked instead.

"Are you just gonna ignore..." I pressed my foot down harder causing him to gag and struggle,

"I ask the questions, you answer them." His powers which were also fire, like mine, began going wild to preserve the life of its user but unluckily for him, my affinity for the fire was much higher.

"We... we" His voice was now hoarse, "I can't say." He finally forced out, so I snapped my fingers engulfing him in fire. He let out an ear-piercing scream but we were far from the city so no one would hear him.

"Care to try again?" I asked after removing the flame and releasing the extra heat from his body to provide some pain relief.

"It's you! We want you!" He shouted. I removed my foot and he immediately backed from me, his wings were already ripped off and the area was cauterized so he could not heal. He stared at me with pitch-black charred skin and frightened eyes "You... are not a regular Guardian... You're a high-ranking Infaniyan... We... were ordered to figure out your limits and weaknesses." I scoffed then began thinking if that was enough information to gather before I kill him, "Please... let me go..." He pleaded, making me laugh.

"How old are you?" I inquired, leaning down in front of him. He in turn leaned away from me, which wasn't improving my mood.

"I'm... 142." I tapped my chin

"And... on Afaria, you kill and torture humans for fun annually, everyone takes part, is that correct?"

"That's not fair!" He began so I raised my hand, instantly turning my armband into a rapier and pressing the tip of my blade against his throat.

"Answer me." blood trickled down from his neck to his already brunt chest, but his skin was slowly starting to recover,

"Of course, but... that's not my choice! The king forces us to participate, if I refuse he'll think I'm rebelling!" He yelled in his defense, So I sent him a smile,

"You would not refuse to celebrate your favorite Holiday." His face healed slightly and along with it his eyes filled with tears

"But..." I stabbed his shoulder and he shot flames from his hand at me but they were absorbed, You'd think he would have learned his lesson earlier

"I didn't ask you a question," I stated, slicing through his right arm and then burning the wound closed. This time he gritted his teeth but refused to scream. "Good, don't speak unless I tell you to." Even though he stayed quiet he wouldn't stop crying... "When I found you, you were trying to rape one of my citizens." He gasped, ready to lie and defend himself but managed to stop that impulse, "I know it's true, I do not need a response from you." He began panicking and looking around for a way to escape but it was clear there was none. We were far underground in a room I created for interrogations. "I know you failed in my city but... how many times were you successful? How many people have you raped, murdered, or eaten, other than the 140 for your homeworld festivities?"

".....2,247." He answered.

"Wow, you kept count for so many... you must have enjoyed it!" I commented.

"Please, stop, I'm being honest. I don't know what more you want from me." He replied in a trembling voice still weeping like a child. I then channeled the flame to my sword

"I want nothing from you." I was prepared to strike him down but then he blurted,

"Wait! The Prince is here! The King's son, chosen by the Black Flames." ... I changed my sword back into an armband.

"Oh him!... We met him. Do you know his face?" The Afarion nodded rapidly, so I put a brand on his uncut shoulder and whispered the words so he could not turn against me, "This is my servant, he heeds my call and mine alone lest the fire devour him from within." The pain of the brand was nothing in comparison to everything else so during the process he was only smiling with relief, "Do you accept?" I asked, to finalize the pact

"I do, I cannot betray you, I cannot disobey, I cannot harm you." He appears to be being honest since the brand did not kill him. *sigh*... I miss Akina, I wish we could have spoken longer... I then created a knife to reopen his wounds and holding his arm in place so it could heal properly.

3 hours later, he had finally recovered enough to move so I led him to the bedroom area I created. It was a twin-sized bed, white sheets, no windows because we're underground, and an oak chair in the cover of the room, next to a small wooden bookshelf with a desk lamp on top of that.

"This is your room," I informed then pointed to a white door in the room to the left. "That is the bathroom... there's a shower in there. Take one." He nodded and was about to walk away when I added "Do not leave this area, do not contact anyone without my consent." He flinched but nodded again. I believe he would try something underhanded if I didn't give him direct enough orders, I hate having a subordinate I can not trust. I teleported back home and flopped down face-first onto my bed. It felt like I had only been asleep for 10 minutes when I felt the barrier being breached again and had to shift myself to the location of the problem, this time I was met with a group of 13.

"Oh is this the city's guardian?" One mocked, "Weren't expecting such a large group were ya?" I rolled my eyes and I chose to transform my weapon into a zweihänder.

"Your numbers are, Irrelevant." I lunged my sword at the one that spoke and his body withered and turned to ash almost instantly, then I called my weapon back to me. It was glowing brightly in my hand the other 12 were now on edge. "Who wants to be next?" They gave each other looks and then agreed to come at me all at once, making my job a lot easier, All I had to do was spin my weapon around me to slice all of them in half, only one managed to see what was happening and dodge. The rest couldn't be saved since I passed my flame into their bodies through the blade, their wounds couldn't heal as fast as they were burning, so the bodies crumbled, becoming charcoal.

"What did you do to them?" I pointed my sword at him and he flinched,

"They have all passed on, did you really think just 13 would be a..." That's when I felt the barrier being breached on the opposite side of the city. "I see..." While I was distracted he tried to flee but my blade turned into thousands of tiny needles that pierced his skin, disintegrating him from the inside, and then it once again returned to me to become my arm jewelry. I can go a few days without sleep... but I am so exhausted now. Being so sleepy puts me in a terrible mood. I do not have it in me to show mercy today. I made my way to the location of the offenders but this group had already touched down in the center of the city, unfortunately, so I'll have to hold back.

"That... was fast." One commented the rest seemed to be more on edge after his statement and like fools, the humans gathered around to watch on the sidewalk. From a distance they believed was safe but they were only making my job harder. "We don't have to fight, just pretend to lose track of us, the humans will never know. Less trouble for you, and we'll be gone in a week." I sighed and resigned myself to hand-to-hand combat, I changed my armband into bracers and got into the correct stance.

"I would prefer we fight somewhere else, but none of you are leaving here."

"Scatter!" One of them yelled. So I went for the Afarion closest to me; grabbing him by his wings so he couldn't fly off, and using my powers to burn and tear into them. I then tossed him down into the asphalt. Traffic finally halted, as it should have earlier. I headed onto the next victim kicking him in the face, which he managed to block with his arms but he was unaware of my strength; I broke both his arms and still stomped my heel into his nose. I systematically took them all out one by one, throwing them each into the same hole in the road. I left the one that originally yelled "scatter" for last since he seemed to be the leader.

"All I wanted.... was a M***** F***ING NAP!" I shouted at him and he erected a wall of earth between us but I reached my hand through it and grabbed him by the neck, then tightened my grip, moving my flames into him, and carefully burning him from the inside, to make sure the scene did not look too gory because of the human onlookers. Looked like there were only 10 in this group. After I let his lifeless body go a News crew approached me, I was obligated to remain cordial so I pasted on a smile for them, but I was so sleepy I couldn't even remember what I said after that. I teleported the survivors into the underground cell I had made then transported myself back to my room. The cell is made with power suppressors buried beneath it, they affect me but not as strongly as Afarions on their level. There's also no way in or out so they can't escape. Thankfully, this time I managed to get some sleep.

Many days passed, turning into months and the attacks began becoming more frequent so I had no choice but to inform my father. This has been eating into most of my free time and if I want to spend some of it with Akina... I will need to accept help for once.

I decided I had enough prisoners so all other attackers were dealt with more permanently. One day, as soon as I woke up... the person who was on my mind was Akina. This occurs frequently but today I decided to visit, I sensed her mom was not awake and it was late so I knocked on her window because I would not feel right just teleporting straight into her room. To my delight, I heard her lock her room door and rush to let me in. It feels like forever since I've gotten to hold her in my arms... and I fear that a larger event is coming... one that might get in the way of me seeing her on whims like this in the future. So I will take advantage of these moments.
