Chapter 11

Ava's P.O.V.

'Crowley. What is that?' I asked, my eyes widening slightly as I observed a glowing purple aura emanating off of him.

He chuckled at my reaction.

"What? It's just a little extra protection…from you of course," he replied smugly, smirking in amusement.

'Crowley!' I exclaimed indignantly, scowling. He shrugged his shoulders and grinned at me.

"What? I just wanted to help out…it's nothing important," he insisted in response to my unimpressed look.

'Nothing important, my ass,' I thought to myself irritably, crossing my arms over my chest defiantly.

He rolled his eyes and muttered something unintelligible under his breath as he sat down next to me. He reached his hand out and gently took mine, entwining our fingers and bringing it up to press it against his lips.

The kiss immediately sent shocks of electricity surging through my entire body. I shivered slightly as the tingles spread from my fingertips up my arm to my shoulder blades, spreading to every inch of my skin, causing me to shiver again. This time, however, it wasn't an uncomfortable sensation. On the contrary, it felt…nice. Comfortable. Familiar. Like I had been missing out on something wonderful and beautiful for far too long.

He slowly leaned his face closer to mine until our noses touched, both our breaths mingling in between us. We gazed into each other's eyes, taking in each other's features, searching for the answer to our questions, to our feelings for each other. Suddenly, he leaned forward and pressed a soft yet firm kiss to my forehead. The touch sent goosebumps all along my exposed flesh, and I smiled softly, resting my forehead against his.

'So beautiful,' I thought quietly as I stared into his eyes, mesmerized.

He smirked slightly.

"Well, isn't it? I certainly love that," he commented jokingly as he pulled away completely, grinning cheekily at me and winking.

I rolled my eyes playfully in return and tried to ignore the strange fluttery feeling inside my stomach whenever he did that. After all these years, I still couldn't comprehend how my life could be anything but perfect with him around. It felt like I finally had everything that I'd wished for since the moment that we first laid eyes on each other.
