The Show Begins

Ban's target for the night is to kill the Class S Arena ranker without showing his existence. That Class S is also known to be the patriarch of the James family. Although he can easily kill the man himself, he wanted more than a simple assassination. He wanted to destroy the territory while eliminating those mercenaries all at once.

Ban wanted to show that patriarch on how his subordinates turned against him.

When Ban examined the area, he noticed someone lurking outside of the James family territory. He guessed that person was also just like him, plotting against the James family.

'What a coincidence.."

Ban rubbed his chin. He slowly crept towards that person and raised his brow since the person was a woman. What made him baffled was that, she wore white-colored dress all over her body.

'Is she a rookie or something? Her level is quite high though..'

*Booom!!* *Crackle!!*

"Assassins!!"

One of the guards shouted at the top of his lungs when he noticed one of Ban's familiars as he casted a lightning spell that resounded all over the territory.

Ban checked the territory and smiled.

'The show is about to start..'

Meanwhile, the woman got startled when the alarm was sounded. She probably guessed the guards noticed her even though she hid herself well. She was about to leave when she heard another crashing sound inside the territory.

*Bang!*

"Who dares invade our James family?! Such audacity!!"

The patriarch of the James family dragged a dead body as he exited the mansion. That dead body was Dame whom Ban especially sent towards the mansion.

"Head!"

The group if guards approached the man immediately.

"Jacob...!" The woman muttered in a low voice while gritting her teeth.

Ban raised his brow and read the woman's thought. He nodded after a few seconds why the woman resented the patriarch.

'Guess I'll help her take revenge. After all, my goal here is the same with hers, to kill that man.'

Ban turned his head to the patriarch and smirked. He noticed that women and kids were not present in this territory so his operation will be perfectly executed.

Other mercenaries didn't reveal themselves as they were waiting for orders. However, due to assassins lurking nearby, their formations were jumbled while dealing with them.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!**Boom!**Boom!*

Soon, chaos broke within the territory as weapons and elements blasted all over the place.

Jacob, the head of the family couldn't help but glanced at his territory slowly being ravaged by the chaotic fights. His expression turned livid as his body instantly covered by black lightnings.

One of the guards examined the dead body beside Jacob and exclaimed, "He's a known land developer's chairman! Why is that man here?!"

Jacob raised his brow and glanced at the dead Dame. He frowned and asked, "Are you sure he's that person?"

The guard nodded in confirmation, "I can't be wrong. He's the son of Drei, the old man in the Pitt family."

"So that means all of these assassins were all his subordinates? Why would this guy attacked me? I don't even know him." Jacob knitted his brows pondering the matter.

"Aaah!!! You killed my boss!!"

Troy recklessly dashed towards Jacob whose pondering about something on his mind.

"Protect the head!"

The guards immediately surrounded Jacob and readied their weapons. Some used daggers, fists, weapons and elements while preparing for the incoming attack.

Jacob frowned and noticed how clumsy Troy was. He didn't have time to think as Troy was nearly approaching him.

Meanwhile, Ban glanced at the scene while smiling. His eyes flashed with purple lights before returning to normal.

When Jacob thought that everything was over, he suddenly received a strong danger coming from all sides.

*Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

*Cough!* *Cough!*

Jacob's body was full of bloody injuries. After all, he's just an Elemental Divergent. He has a weak body even though powerful with elements. He glanced at the charred bodies of his guards and Troy with deep confusion. He didn't know what just happened.

"Head!! What happened?! Who attacked you!?"

Soon, Zen and the other high-leveled mercenaries approached Jacob. Their expression changed greatly seeing their patriarch covered with cuts and bruises.

"Stay away from me!!" Jacob shouted as he stared vigilantly at the incoming people. He casted a lightning domain that prevented the others to get closer to him. This is the first time in his life that he suffered such injury from the sneak attack.

"Brother? What happened? Why are you on alert towards us?" Zen asked in confusion.

"Those f*cking guards sneaked attack on me." Jacob gritted his teeth as he stopped the bleeding from his body.

"Say what? You mean our family's guards?" Zen glanced at the charred bodies and frowned. He continued, "Maybe they are imposters? I can't recognize their faces at all due to being charred."

Jacob frowned and shook his head. He replied, "I am certain that they are genuinely our guards." He turned and narrowed his eyes at Zen, "Did you do something to them?"

The mercenaries changed their expression and glanced at Zen with doubt. If anyone in the family wants Jacob dead, his brother is the one to be suspected first.

Zen dazed for a second and frowned. He replied in a deep voice, "Are you suspecting me for turning against you? Even though I have lofty ambitions, I still know my limits. Why should I target you when I know the family's future is developing well with your leadership?"

"Then do you think my injuries are fake?! I let you handled those guards while I handled the mercenaries! Now those sh*ts sneacked attack on me. Who's fault do you think it is?!" Jacob shouted at Zen with livid expression.

"I..." Zen had no words to say as Jacob's reason was on the spot. However, he knew to himself that he didn't do anything at all.

"You step to the side! I'll handle these mess first before I'll judge your punishment later." Jacob examined the chaos in the territory. The problem in those assassins were still in place and needed to be solved first.

Zen had no choice but to step aside. He didn't know what was the problem. All he could do is to watch the scene with a frown on his face.

"Orders, head."

The mercenaries slowly approached Jacob as they waited for his response.

"Get rid of these invaders as soon as possible! I don't want to trouble myself with those old bastards from the bureau." Jacob waved his hand and ordered.

"Yes!"

The mercenaries readied their weapons and scattered all over the place.

Ban smirked and already controlled more than half of the mercenaries at will. He only ordered to not kill one another and pretend to fight just like a sparring session. His eyes glowed in purple lights once again.

'Time for the second wave of attack..'

Suddenly, more than a hundred snipers in the territory pointed their weapons at Jacob. They immediately rained fire to the target without stopping.

Jacob's face paled when all the lasers landed on his body. Another wave of danger that made him shiver just like earlier.

"F*ck!!! What in the world is happening!?"

Jacob casted a lightning shield all over his body. Due to being slow in movement, he could only receive the incoming bullets helplessly.

*Sizzzle!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!* *Boom!*

Jacob got no choice but to run towards the mansion with ugly face. He was at a loss at the moment. His mentality didn't work well as he faced dangers from all side.

Ban chuckled at the scene.

'This is better than those sci-fi movies out there.'

Meanwhile, the woman gawked at the scene. She wondered if they were having a combat drill at the middle of the night. Chaos happened everywhere like she was watching a war between countries up close.

Zen also stared at the scene with disbelief. His brother, who was a Class S Arena ranker was running for his life. Zen also took cover fearing those roque mercenaries might target him.

Jacob was about to arrive at his mansion when Elementalists destroyed the mansion with their spells. He twitched his eyes and took a deep breath.

"F*ck! I don't care anymore!! All of you shall die!!"

Jacob raised both of his hands at the sky.

*Crackle!!!* *Ruuumble!!*

The clouds turned black and swirled around. Black lightning flashes every now and then.

Ban raised his head in the clouds and his eyes shined. He licked his lips as if he saw a delicacy up there.

*Ruuumble!!* *Ruuumble!!*

The lighnings became unstable and was ready to be released.

"Bastards!! Face my fury!!"

'Wrath of the Heavens!'

Jacob chanted silently as he smashed both of his hands to the ground.

The woman widened her eyes as she stared at the heavens in terror. She suddenly had an impulse to leave the place in a hurry. Suddenly, she heard a mutter beside her which made her baffled.

"You cannot enjoy a show without a snack..."
