Poor but Lucky Story of a Young Man

*RUMBLE!!!*

The audience felt the tremor as they stared at the screen with widened eyes.

Such a magnitude of attack brought terror for everyone.

Even the young lady at the stage staggered from the shock.

Just as everyone guessed the fate of the young man, the camera steadied itself for the outcome.

Everyone became dumbfounded when they realized that the young man was safe and sound while the old man was thrown a few meters away.

"L-Look, the young man is alright."

"What just happened?"

"This.. Do you think this tremor was familiar?"

"Yeah. Now that you mentioned it. There's indeed an earthquake right before the auction starts."

"But this tremor was a bit lesser than ealier."

The young lady then explained, "That's right. Before the auction starts earlier, Mr. Luke tested this treasure's quality at the 99th floor which is only one level below us. However this time, the test came from the underground dojo of the building, but you could still felt the pressure of the attack made by Mr. Luke."

"Oh. So that's how it is.."

The crowd nodded in agreement at chatted with one another about the exchange in the video.

Nana had a look of realization and stared at Ban, "So this is the talisman you mentioned earlier. Did you made this talisman yourself?"

Ban nodded as he chuckled. He took a talisman and passed it to her, "The diamond in the middle is the main talisman. You can take it out if you want and make a design of your own."

"Really?" Nana examined the talisman and plucked the diamond in the middle effortlessly.

"..."

Ban turned speechless when he saw her action.

Nana took off her necklace and replaced the stone in the middle with the talisman.

"Help me wear it." She turned to Ban and exposed her fair neck to him.

'I just made an example. Why did you shamelessly took away my thing?'

However, Ban could only complained in his mind as he helped Nana wore the necklace again.

"How do I look?" Nana asked as she fluttered her eyelashes at Ban.

"Stop showing off to us virgins! Demmet!"

A young man not far from Ban couldn't help but cursed out loud.

Not only the young man, everyone saw Nana's action also reacted violently.

Ban squinted his eyes at the crowd wrapped his arm to Nana's waist. He even gave the crowd a provocative smirk.

Nana felt Ban's intention and leaned her chest closer to his.

Ban's smirk stiffened as he slowly loosen up his grasp.

'Damn this woman is so daring.'

"You!"

"F*cking brat! Let go of our goddess!"

"Bastard! I curse your wee wee becomes small!"

Ban twitched his lips when the crowds' curses becomes absurd. He then tidied himself up and sat back down properly ignoring the furious crowd.

Nana laughed and also did the same. However, her eyes never left at Ban. Her curiousity towards him got even bigger.

The young lady at the stage also took notice of the action of her Big Sister. She threw Ban a curious look on her face.

'Nobody made a move on my Big Sis like this before. Even Big Sis approved of his action. Just who is this young man?'

The old men didn't pay attention to Ban since they were concentrating at the screen.

"Another attack?!" One of the crowd exclaimed when he saw Luke preparing for another attack.

"You peed yourself?" Luke asked in disbelief at the young man.

"Uhh." The young man only dazed. He couldn't believe he was still alive.

"Prepare yourself, kid. I'm going to attack again." Luke bent his knees.

"W-Wait. This...." The young man became flustered. He almost cried, "You won't kill me because of my treasure, but the heart attack you brought to me."

"Hehe. It will be over in a while. Just stay still. I'm sure I'll penetrate your defense this time." Luke was getting fired up and dashed for the second time.

"W-Wait.. You're kidding, right?" The young man's knees almost gave in when he heard Luke's claim.

"SERA!! I LO-"

*BOOOM!!!*

*RUUMMBLE!!!*

"Amazing!"

"Look! The young man make it out unscatched."

"Damn! What a formidable treasure. Even a 10th level Enchant monster couldn't push the young man even for an inch."

"Yeah. One should know that an all out punch of a 10th level Enchant is like a missile or a cannon that can blast a building into pieces."

The young lady also commented, "That's right. Our building has a special material that could withstand a cannon's blast. However, other buildings don't." She paused and continued, "Now for the last phase of testing, we have invited a 10th level of Elemental for the test."

"Oh? An Elemental this time?"

"This treasure is indeed amazing. If it could withstand an all out attack of Elemental, then this will be a desirable treasure for any Divergents out there."

"Right."

...

"I'm beat, kid." Luke raised his hand in defeat. His arm was getting numb so he decided to stop.

"Phew!*" The young man let out a sigh of relief. He was like getting an amnesty by a god of death himself.

"Don't celebrate too soon, kid." Luke snickered and pointed at the door. He continued, "God may bless you, kid. This madman will be your next partner."

"Don't scare the kid, old Luke." An old voice was heard at the room. He then examined the bracelet of the man and asked at Luke, "That's the treasure, right?"

"Mm. I'll explain the details to you later." Luke nodded and continued, "Try testing it for yourself. I suggest you go all out. That treasure is a tough nut to crack."

The old man called Max raised his brow. He turned at the kid and said, "Very well. Prepare yourself, kid. I might burn you a little."

The young man slumped to the ground. He muttered in disbelief, "Ma- The legendary Madman Max." He paused and closed his eyes, "I'm doomed!"

"Heh! Not yet." Max grinned at the young man. He continued, "Believe that the treasure can protect you, kid. You'll be fine."

The air suddenly distorted as the surroundings became hotter by the second.

Even Luke escaped the room with haste.

"Whirlwind Inferno!"

"WAAA!! SERA! MARRY ME!!!" The young man exclaimed once again before he was engulfed by the raging flames and wind blades.

...

"Grandpa?" Tina called out in surprise when she recognized the old man at the scene.

Ban was also startled and asked, "He's your grandpa?"

'What a madman. He burned the whole dojo to the ground.'

*RRUUUMMMBLEE!!!*

The building rocked once again from the attack of Max.

The screen turned bright for a few good minutes.

The audience exclaimed in shock. This Elemental attack is a whole new level of magnitude for them.

"Damn! I'll prostate to that young man if he can survive that attack."

"Hard to tell. He has the treasure on him."

Everyone anticipated the result. They didn't blinked their eyes at the projector.

"L-Look! The light is fading!"

They tilted their heads. Their hearts were beating fast, eager to know what happened.

"..."

Ban smiled as he already knew the result. However, the attack of Max consumed most of the energies that was reserved in the talisman. Who knew Max wanted to continuously burned the area. Now, the talisman barely have an Energy to defend a caliber like Luke.

"What the!? He's still alive!"

"Whoa! What a life saving treasure!"

"F*ck! I must have this treasure no matter what the cost!"

Everyone became frenzied after witnessing the result. The young man was still alive and well. The whole dojo became melted ruins, but the young man's position wasn't affected even by a bit.

Old man Luke returned to the area. He was getting goosebumps after witnessing the surroundings.

"Damn, old Max! You really went all out.

"Haha! It's been a while since I let out some steam. This is so refreshing!" Max laughed heartily. He raised his brow and asked, "Who's that young lass behind you?"

"Ah. This is my grand daughter, Sera." Luke smiled. He then turned to his grand daughter and said, "Barely passed."

The woman named Sera blushed and approached the dazing young man.

"Are you alright?" Sera worriedly asked.

Sera was also the one that Ban and Tina met at the entrance together with the young man.

Tina didn't know Sera even though her grandpa and Mr. Luke were friends since she liked to live away from the Capital.

"You- Mr. Luke is your grandpa?" The young man realized why Luke suddenly wanted to kill him earlier. He even brought a back up.

"Mm." Sera nodded gently. Her face still has a tint of redness. She heard the young man's confession earlier.

The young man didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was having a roller coaster of emotion this night.

"Haha! What a happy ending!" Max gave the young man a thumbs up.

"Che!*" Luke gave a snort and walked out of the room after receiving the bracelet back.
