12 Meeting Ace

The boy looked at Quinn in a daze, Quinn smiled and crouched down before patting the boy's head saying "What's your name kiddo." The boy said "Ace" absentmindedly.

Quinn smiled and said "Good name. I'm Quinn, nice to meet you." Ace said, "You're my uncle?" Quinn smiled and nodded before saying "How old are you, Ace." Ace said "5" Quinn looked over at the blonde-haired boy and said, "And you?"

The boy said "Sabo. Also 5." Quinn smiled and said "Pretty strong for a 5-year-old! Hahaha" he stood up and looked at Garp before saying "5 years old eh?" Garp grinned and said, "They're pretty strong right?"

Quinn shook his head and looked down at the boys before saying "What have you two been doing?" Sabo said excitedly "We're stealing treasure so we can sail away and become pirates!" Garp felt his mouth twitch and Quinn laughed saying "Good! Hahaha"

Garp snapped "Don't encourage them!" Quinn grinned and said, "Who wants to be a marine anyway?" Ace and Sabo were confused, Ace said "Aren't you a marine?"

Quinn nodded and said "Reluctantly." Garp choked and Ace said "Reluctantly?" Quinn grinned and said "I wasn't always a marine.." he looked at Garp before whispering "Wanna hear a secret?"

Ace and Sabo looked at Garp before huddling near Quinn, who bent down and cupped his hand in front of his mouth, so Garp 'couldn't see', as he said "I was a pirate before!"

Ace and Sabo gasped and said "What!" Quinn nodded and grinned before continuing "A really strong pirate! The strongest in the world!" Ace and Sabo gasped again and said "No way!"

Quinn nodded and kept feeding Ace and Sabo a bunch of pirate propaganda. Garp eventually grunted and said "Alright! Enough!" Quinn chuckled and straightened out before winking at Ace and Sabo.

Ace and Sabo grinned and Garp deflated saying "I shouldn't have brought you here…" Quinn burst out laughing and a marine came running saying "Vice-Admiral!" Quinn pulled Ace and Sabo behind him as Garp said "What."

The marine started breathing heavily and said "Fleet.. Admiral… Said… He.. Needs.. You.. Back!" Garp sighed and said "Alright, go back. I'll be there in a minute." The marine nodded and ran back.

Quinn frowned and said "We just got here. Why do we have to go back?" Garp sighed and said "I don't know. Let's just go, we'll come back another time."

Quinn sighed and looked at Ace and Sabo before saying "I gotta go. The next time I see you both, I want to see progress! Train hard." Ace and Sabo nodded and Quinn and Garp walked away.

Ace said "Wait! You said you were a strong pirate? How strong?" Quinn pulled a paper from his pocket and shot it back to Ace and Sabo, the paper unfolded and stabbed a corner into the ground, facing them.

Ace and Sabo looked at the bounty and their eyes widened in shock.

Quinn chuckled and disappeared along with Garp.

The duo reached the docks and Garp said "You showed them?" Quinn grinned and said "Why not? The kid's a good kid. A little grim, but still good." Garp chuckled and shook his head, Quinn just silently smiled and they returned to the ship before sailing back to Marineford.

A few weeks later

Quinn and Garp arrived back at Marineford and got off the ship. Quinn sighed and said, "What does that guy want now?" Garp laughed and said, "Probably something you did." Quinn threw his hands up and said "I literally haven't done anything, why can't this guy just get off my back, jeez."

Garp laughed and they walked to Sengoku's office.

Sengoku was reading a report on his desk when Quinn and Garp walked in. He looked at them and said "What took you two so long?!" Quinn rolled his eyes and sat down on a couch lazily, Garp did the same and pulled out a box of rice crackers, seemingly out of thin air.

Quinn swiped a few crackers from him and chuckled at Garp's upset look. Sengoku felt his eyes twitch fiercely at their nonchalant actions, he took a deep breath and said "You have a Vice-Admiral ceremony to attend."

Quinn sighed and said, "You called me back just for that?" Sengoku started to get angry again and said "Yes! What do you mean just for that?! It's very important!" Quinn sighed again and said "Just set it up already, I'll make an appearance. For a Fleet Admiral, you sure are slow."

Garp burst out laughing and Sengoku seethed as he said "Get out! The ceremony's tomorrow!" Quinn chuckled and left. Garp looked at Sengoku and chuckled saying "Cheer up Sen! He's a strong guy!"

Sengoku grumbled and said, "Would be nice if he could listen to orders for once.." Garp shook his head and chuckled before taking a bit from his rice cracker, that was impossible. Nobody could control Quinn.

Quinn remembered Hina and Comil and went to the exchange hall.

He walked into the building and looked around before seeing someone at a counter. Quinn walked over and said "Hello. I'd like to exchange my points for a devil fruit please." the man nodded and said, "What would you like?" Quinn rubbed his chin and said, "What do you have?"

The person gave Quinn a list and Quinn looked at the list. There were dozens of fruits available, among them were several interesting Paramecias, namely the Cage-Cage fruit, the Heat-Heat fruit, Size-Size fruit, and the Goo-Goo fruit.

Quinn hummed before saying "The Size fruit please, also can you keep the Goo fruit on reserve?" the man nodded and said, "What's your ID?" Quinn said "0066600" The man nodded and gave Quinn the fruit before saying "Here you go."

Quinn smiled and said "Thank you." before leaving.

Quinn walked back to Hina's house, tossing the Size fruit in his hands. He approached her house and saw a group in front of her door again. Quinn rubbed his temples and walked over.

A group of women said "Hina! Just come to us, Tsuru said it was okay!" Hina frowned and said "Hina said no already!" the women simply wouldn't take no for an answer and demanded Hina to go with them.

Quinn coughed behind them and the women turned around before wrinkling their noses saying "Who are you?" Quinn was amused and said "Scram out of my sight, little girls." the women got all heated up and started shouting at Quinn.

Hina looked at the hopeless look on Quinn's face and giggled as she said "Vice-Admiral, seems like you're in a pickle." Quinn ignored the women and said, "It's difficult being famous.." Hina felt her mouth twitch as she said "Vice-Admiral.. I don't think that's what's going on…"

Quinn sighed and said "Listen little girls, if Tsuru wants my little Commander, she can come to ask me herself. Whether she gets her is a different story. If she can survive a hammer strike maybe she can have Hina." Hina smiled wryly and said, "I don't think that's possible.."

Quinn chuckled and the women snorted saying "Hmph! Granny Tsuru will show you!" Quinn rolled his eyes and said "Run along little fishies, bye-bye!" the women glared at him before leaving.

Quinn watched them go and said, "You think they always travel in groups?" Hina watched and said, "Hina thinks it's possible." Quinn shook his head and said, "Must be hard to go to the bathroom then.."

Hina snorted and laughed, Quinn chuckled and threw the fruit at Hina, hitting her in the head and cutting off her laughter, as he said "Eat it." Hina picked up the fruit and rubbed her head with an annoyed expression as she said "Can't you be gentle? Hina is a young girl still." Quinn rolled his eyes and said "Yeah, yeah. Just shut up and eat it."

Hina grumbled and took a bite from the fruit before gagging on its horrible taste. Quinn chuckled and said, "Let's go, training in hell begins today!" Hina almost collapsed and muttered weakly "What was the training up until now.." Quinn grinned and said "Intro training. Show me your power."

Hina got a bunch of information in her mind and grew to 20 meters, she looked down at Quinn and smirked "Haha! Hina is bigger than Vice-Admiral now! Let's see how you bully me now!" Quinn smirked and raised Ikari, he hooked the hammerhead around Hina's neck and dragged her down to the ground.

Hina smashed into the ground and shrank back down to her normal state, she looked up at Quinn hatefully as she said "You're so mean! Hina hates you!" Quinn picked Hina up by her collar and dragged her with him as he said "Enough talk, more training."

Hina struggled and said "Wait! Hina found someone else to join the crew!" Quinn paused and said "Who?" Hina said "Smoker-Kun. We're friends." Quinn let her go and said, "Go get him, I need to test him myself." Hina stood up and dusted off her clothes as she said "No problem! Also.. Thank you Quinn-san."

Quinn raised a brow and looked at Hina, who added "This fruit is really expensive, Hina likes it a lot." Quinn smiled and patted her head saying "Don't worry about it Hina. I'm here to help you all the time. Go." Hina smiled faintly and ran off.

Quinn shook his head and went to get Comil before going back to his residence and waiting in the training ground behind it. Quinn changed into a t-shirt and shorts with simple sandals.

Quinn leaned on Ikari and lit a cigarette, waiting for Hina. Comil sat down on a chair and sighed saying "Things keep getting more and more lively." Quinn smiled and said "Tired?" Comil sighed and said "Sometimes, but my family needs me to work."

Quinn smiled softly and said, "You have a family?" Comil smiled and said "A wife and a boy." Quinn said, "That's good, is that why you joined the Marines?" Comil scratched his head and chuckled "I'm not very good at anything else. Just a simple brute."

Quinn chuckled and said, "Don't worry Comil, you won't be a simple brute when I'm finished with you." Comil chuckled and said, "That's what I'm worried about.." Quinn smiled and kept silent.

A few minutes later

Hina showed up with a man. She was wearing a pink t-shirt and white short shorts with shoes. The man was wearing a normal t-shirt and pants with boots but he was smoking two cigars at once.

Quinn looked over and exhaled a mouthful of smoke as he said "You're the new guy?" the man nodded wordlessly and Quinn said, "What's your name." The man said "Smoker, Vice-Admiral." as he saluted.

Quinn waved and said "Enough with the formal attitude, so annoying. Come here, boy." Smoker walked over and Quinn released his Conqueror's haki on Smoker.

Smoker grunted and stood up straight, Quinn grinned and kept increasing the pressure little by little. Smoker started to sweat and fell to one knee, as soon as his knee touched the ground, the pressure disappeared.

Quinn smiled and said, "Welcome to the team, as you can see, we're only 4 at the moment." Smoker got up and said "Only 4, Sir?" Quinn slapped his back and laughed "There will be more haha!" his hand passed right through Smoker.

Quinn said "A logia?" Smoker nodded and Quinn slapped his hand again, with Haki this time, as he laughed "Good! Hahaha" Smoker went flying and slammed into Quinn's house, face first.

Smoker sat on the ground and held his head, groaning.

Quinn chuckled and said, "Let's start training!" Hina and Comil deflated and Smoker walked over, he looked at Hina in confusion and said "What's wrong?" Hina said, "You'll see, Smoker-kun…"

Quinn began their training, since Hina and Comil were ahead of Smoker at this point, Quinn gave them a strict and extremely tough training program. It was basically, train until you couldn't train anymore, then keep training. There was a daily list of workouts for them to do, they had to stay until they completed them all.

Quinn left Ikari in the middle of the training field and told them if they could move Ikari a single inch then they could stop doing that training routine. Quinn gave Hina and Comil different training plans, Hina's was more based on her devil fruit while also training her body.

Quinn focused on Smoker himself and beat Haki and the 6 powers into him. What he did was he sparred with Smoker, but while he was fighting he talked about how to activate the Haki in his body and how to achieve the 6 powers. Smoker was learning quickly, he had to really because Quinn was attacking him constantly with blackened fists.

His logia powers didn't work against Haki and Quinn made sure he understood that.. Thoroughly.

For 6 months, Smoker went home beaten and bruised all over. Eventually, Smoker and Hina stayed at Quinn's house because they just couldn't walk that far when they were finished.

Quinn also constantly used the 6 powers while training Smoker, not only for himself but for the rest too. They could see his movements and emulate him, although hard, it wasn't that hard. They already had the basics. All that was needed was practice.

And boy did they practice.

1 and a half years later (1509)

Quinn looked at the 3 collapsed people in front of him with a big smile as he said "There ya go! Come back tomorrow!" Hina started crying, Comil chuckled and slowly got up before dragging his body away saying "Thanks Vice-Admiral!" Quinn waved and dragged Smoker and Hina into his house before throwing them in separate, already filled, baths.

Hina fell into the water and sunk to the bottom, as bubbles came to the surface. Quinn was amused and grabbed her from the water before shaking her saying "Look! A bird!" Hina said quickly "Where!" before realizing she was in a house.

She looked at Quinn hatefully and said "Hina hates you even more!" Quinn grinned and said "Shower, little bird." before leaving the room. He checked on Smoker to see him doing just fine, at least he wasn't drowning in a bathtub.

Quinn smiled and walked outside before sitting on a chair and watching the sunset as he lit a cigarette. The 3 had made excellent progress over the past 2 years. All three had a good grasp on both forms of Haki and all 6 of the 6 powers. They had a better grasp on Soru and Geppo while the rest was just okay.

Quinn himself had already mastered all 6. He could basically walk on the air if he wanted to. Tekkai and Kami-e were a bit redundant since he had Armament and Observation haki, Rankyaku and Shigan were almost never used because he primarily used Ikari to fight, and Geppo and Soru were nice to get around with.

With Quinn's strength, he basically didn't even need to use any of the 6 powers but he learned them because he could. There was no downside to learning them, he was already plenty strong by himself, rivaling Whitebeard in his prime.

Quinn honestly didn't know how strong he really was, he never had the need to go all out against anyone before. If he had to guess, he'd probably say he was just as strong, if not stronger than the 3 Admirals. Then again, he never fought seriously so there was no way to find out.

When he was with Roger, he was the strongest on the crew with Roger and Rayleigh just behind him. Quinn sat on his chair, watching the sun go down, smoking his cigarette as he thought of Shanks and the rest of the crew. He wondered how strong they were now and what they were doing. He had only seen Rayleigh since the crew split. He saw Shanks and Buggy at the Execution but other than that, he never saw them again.

He sighed to himself and hope they were all doing okay
