2 Desperate Occasion of the Passionate Fool

Surprisingly, the fearsome Calamity hasn't noticed both of you yet.

Although gritting your teeth, you still want to know your partner's name. Still, in a prone position, you hurls your gaze at her once again. "I forgot your name, what was it again?" Showing a scornful laugh with a face full of pain.

"I didn't expect that giant tree's disgusting odor could give you amnesia."

"Who knows, this is your fault, to begin with, and I hate you."

She anchors her elbow into the sands and rests her head on her palm as a crutch, leaning on her side. "Aww, I love you too."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"I'll tell you my name if we survive." Giving you a thumbs up.

You regret your curiosity, although a realization hits you in the head right after. You then inspect the wild underground worm-like dragon as you realize that the horrid abomination of mother nature is glaring at you from afar while deliberately approaching your position.

Surprisingly, you don't feel any signs of life in the area beside you. Until you glance back and find your partner sprinting away at full speed.

"How petty can you be!?"

Anger acquired.

Roses are red, violets are blue, your blood streams down from your mouth and you want to pluck every nail on your partner's toe.

You buckle up your strained body, pushing your weariness away because dying after a few hours of being reincarnated is stupid. So you say, "To hell with this!" And decide to hustle your aching muscles.

Two people in one game, the marathon of stupidity. Unexpectedly, you manage to chase down the uncompassionate devilish rascal! Currently tailing two meters behind her with your considerable fitness and long legs.

You start to think that your nickname was given to you because you're remarkable at running, possibly with the 'away'.

It doesn't take more than ten seconds for you to horse into the unknown beside your very dependable partner.

The wind pushes her pinkish hair, you can hear many thuds and clanks from her whole equipment when running.

"It took you a while to notice the fact that our puny lives are in grave danger." Says her hustled lips beneath the gas mask.

You close the distance between you and her, and then point at your face, "Blood won't stop streaming down from my mouth, and I'm in great pain! Do something about it!"

This isn't your former boring world, if a whale-sized worm dragon who wields a sword two times longer than its size exists, then some magical healing property jizz and stuff should exist as well. Looking at her numerous pouches, there must be an item for first aid healing—even though your condition isn't something to be treated with first-aid in the first place.

She looks left and right, then gives you a thumbs up.

Your disappointment is immeasurable.

The powerhouse starts to diminish, you can't feel your legs after the slavery that your brain did by keep telling the below meat-stick section of your body to pumps those overworked muscles like a cat threatened with a cold bath while gazing at their owner's smelly hands.

Your vision is not something to even question anymore. It was already fully painted with red, all you can do is trust your instinct, and maybe your amazing and very dependable partner.

Behind those dimly red visions of yours, you can notice some dark area enveloping the ground at a visible speed.

"GAAAAAAAAHH!!!"

Your partner then suddenly pushes you away.

Something blasts you off more, and the forces behind it are definitely not from your partner.

An extremely huge chunk of metal is trying to meet-and-greet the ground by cleaving down the yellow sea of grains and separates you both like a wall, it only took several inches more to the left for half of your body to be a grinded meat on the desert as a raw minced dish special. You can see the Calamity that is still far away, that thing had just thrown a bloody massive sword accurate enough to almost split you in half. Fighting is not even on the options menu, grouping up and relying on your partner's judgment seems to be the shiniest action you can take at this moment.

You wipe the blood on your eyes.

Many profanities are being thrown on the other side, some of them are pure sentences that can get a family-friendly television show to be canceled by toxic social media.

The Calamity is approaching you, strafing down the sea of sands to get its hand on the sword.

You worry about your partner's well-being—

Probably not.

"I'm not Long Leggy without reasons." You then sprint away enduring the pain.

Reconciling with your partner at the end of the split ground, your partner takes out a small retractable launcher from her pouch.

She loads the launcher with a strangely looking round, "I despise doing this every time we're in danger."

"Wait, why?"

"You'll know why, close your ears."

The launcher propels the round into the sky, shrieking a sharp noise of eaten fuse from an explosive.

Quite dumbfounded, you gaze at the elevating shiny thing. You're wondering whether you want to give it a salute or protect your ears.

You thought that it would only poof a little at the sky—not creating a sonic boom of an electromagnetic field kilometers across the vicinity.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!?"

Your hearing, vision, and the whole fiber of your body are being tormented with an electrifying ride from ticket to hell. The blasts engulf everything in its path, it might scare away or hurt the Calamity but it also scares your soul from your body.

Out of every scenario from multiple possibilities in the many world interpretations, this outcome might be one of the worst you could experience at this very moment. Hands on ears, mouth open, and electrocution on every nook and cranny of your muscles that turn your whole body to do a jarring rave party.

The torment goes on for five minutes. Once it ends, both of you rest down your ultra tense stiff-as-rock body and fall like dead trees to the sands together at the same time, facing to the sky. All of that jazz and glitters—wearing a fully unamused deadpan, you are forced to conserve the beautiful sceneries of constellations spreading their source of light to decorate the universe.

"This sucks."

"Told ya."

Unlike a normal healthy human being, you managed to stay conscious the whole time. This amount of physical traumatic stress should already make a sane and insane person pass out.

Are you a human at all?
