Chapter 6: The Foolish war and Demons

After finishing our talk with the guild master we waited for him to tell the people that the elfs will help defend the town, after that we went outside into the town and started walking towards the inn I stayed in before.

"Who are you? …. You don't seem to be the master of this mansion, are you maybe a thief?"

"don't worry, I'm an adventurer who is tasked with freeing you and your friends"

"don't mess with me!! As if a human can be tasked with freeing us!! You must be some kind of thief who came to steal us to sell us to a different place!! Humans see us as nothing but a playthings, if not for the chains I would have killed you in the spot!! You bastard!!"

"This guy seems to be so energetic for someone as injured as him, it seems like I really needed you guys to help me after all"

I went inside the cell and braked the chains that restrained Clair to the wall, after that I reached my hand towards her neck, but she jumped back away from me surprised.

I reached my hand to remove the collar again and she didn't move this time, I touched the collar and activated {Overload} and the collar turned into dust immediately, she moved her hand to her neck to check if the collar was really removed.

After that, I went and freed the male elf, but he remained silent the whole time contrary to Clair who was quite talkative.

The elfs who were sleeping inside their barriers were confused at first, but they calmed down after Lao and Rex explained the current circumstances to them.

"Clair, is there any beastmen slaves in this mansion?"

"yes there is, they should be in the next room"

I used Scarlet again to cut down the door to the next room and went inside the room with Lao and Rex and the freed elfs, when we entered the room we saw a group of different kinds of beastmen, they were not chained like the elfs but all of them had slave collars, most of them were females and most of them were children, one of the males stood up and approached the cell door, he was a tall man with wolf ears and tail.

"you guys are the elfs from the other room, how did you break out of your cells? and what happened to your collars?"

"We were saved by this human here, he is an adventurer who was tasked with the job to save all elfs and beastmen in this town"

"my name is Ryo and I'm here to save you guys"

"r-really?! We are thankful for that!!"

"We can get out finally!!"

"mom!! Wake up!! He said we can be free again!!"

I freed all the beastmen and destroyed their collars, the men started thanking me none stop, and the women hugged their children and started crying happily.

"it seems like some of you guys are sick, here let me fix that for you guys…{Mega Cure}"

"no I mean, you used such an advanced spell on all of them without any chant"

After that, I healed all of their injuries and calmed them down, and started preparing to teleport all of them.

"are you guys all the slaves in this mansion?"

"there were some human slaves in this mansion but it seems they were taken out from here some time ago"

After that I took a lot of meat from my {Storage} and placed the meat on a metallic table I made in the past as practice, I got the meat from the monsters and animals I hunted when I was building my house, and after that, I lighted a big fire from some leftover wood I had in my {Storage} and placed a grill on top of it, and after that, I took out some condiments and placed them next to the meat, and finally, I took out an artifact that looks like a water tap, this artifact produces an infinite amount of water from water mana crystal.

"…everyone, why are all of you looking at me like that? Don't just stand around and go take a bath and change your clothes, after that come and eat as much as you can I'll start preparing a place for you to sleep and rest your bodies"

After that I took Lao and teleported back to the town and headed for the second noble's mansion, we infiltrated the mansion and headed for the basement to search for the slaves, when we found the elfs I freed them and healed the injured and cured the sick.

I was faced a lot of hate from the elfs but Lao's presence with me helped to calm them down, after that, I teleported all of them to the safe place and asked Rex to take care of them.

After that we headed to save more elfs and beastmen, we were faced by some resistance from some of the owners but I dealt easily with them using {Shadow Arts}.

We kept going back and forth between the town and the safe place many times, but we reached the end at least last, the final mansion was an empty one because the owner of this mansion was one of the nobles who helped the idiot son escape.

Right after entering the mansion I felt the presence of a strong person, from the presence I can feel it was clear to me that there is someone strong enough to defeat both the guild master of this town and the guild master of the elfs town at the same time, because of my skill {Presence Detection} I can see that this presence belongs to an (SS) rank for sure, I didn't feel any hostility from him but I placed my hand on Scarlet just to be safe.

"Ryo? What's wrong? You have been acting strangely ever since we came to this mansion"

"it's just that I have been feeling a strong presence from this mansion"

We entered the mansion and headed towards the place where the slaves are kept, we found only one elf child and tree beastmen women in the basement, so I freed them and destroyed their slave collars and healed them, but I could feel the strong presence from the next room, it seems like this presence belongs to another slave in the next room.

"ten years ago I was basing by a village where humans and beastmen lived together in harmony, I had a friend in that village and was visiting him, but the village was discovered by this noble and so he started hunting the beastmen and killing the humans, I tried fighting him but he took some of the villagers' hostages, and when he noticed that I was a dragonkin he offered me a deal, the deal was to let him capture me and he would release all the villagers go and I agreed, after that, I signed a contract with him to stay in this cage and to never break from it by myself and in exchange, he will keep the existence of that village a secret from the world, the contract we signed was bound to us by blood and the one to break the contract will face the consequences"

"what were the consequences for both of you?"

"for me, it was the death of my friend in the village and for the noble, it was his own death, but he died three years ago, but the contract was still active even now"

The dragonkin told me his story with downcast eyes, he seems frustrated because of what happened, dragonkin are the strongest of the beastmen and they have a very long lifespan, it's said that every one of them has at least three skills and that some of them even has the ability to transform into dragons, and that all of them have high resistance against curses, that's why slave collars don't work on them and that's the reason why there are no dragonkin slaves in this world.

And the blood contract he talked about is a magical item that forces the people who signed it to fulfil the terms they signed upon, the blood contract forced the people to fulfil the terms by the use of consequences, the consequences can be anything from pain and suffering to death, but when using this item you have to specify the end of the contract, and that is if one side died naturally the other side will be released from it.

"so you was desperate to save your friend and signed a never-ending blood contract"

I used my skill to break the blood contract effect and then used Scarlet to cut the cage down, the old man started standing up slowly and then he started stretching his body.

By the time I teleported the last group to the safe place it was already dawn, so I asked Rex if he had explained the circumstances to the people gathered in here.

This time I'm wearing a glasses, these glasses were made from a Mithril and Adamantite alloy and I enchanted it with recognition inhibition and many other effects, the recognition inhibition can prevent anyone I don't want to recognize me from noticing who I'm, or I can make it so my enemy will forget how I looked like after one hour, and that's what I set it to do and the target was whoever is helping the idiot son with this foolish war, I did this just in case they were watching the idiot son using some kind of monitoring artifact.

After two hours of waiting they have finally arrived, they had knights and mages and some heavily armoured guys, the idiot son was in front of the lot riding a big horned horse, we waited until they came closer to us and the idiot son wasted no time and started laughing like a maniac.

The moment I used my summoning spell a small army of skeletons that consist of a general skeleton as the leader, 29 skeleton knights, 50 skeleton paladins, 20 skeleton mage, appeared in front of me.

"if you think you can beat my summoned monsters then prove it"

"Guhh!! Get in formation and start attacking them!! We still outnumber them by a lot!! Kill the lot of them!!"

The idiot son started barking his orders and I ordered the skeletons to kill every one exempt the idiot son and his noble friends, my skeletons moved into formation far quicker that the enemy's army, the paladins were in the front and the mages behind them, the general and the knights jumped into the front lines and started attacking the enemy's directly.

Lao took out his longbow and started firing arrows at the enemies, he was using wind spirit magic to guide his arrows so they never missed their target, I noticed that sometimes he was shooting more than one arrow at a time, and the arrows he fires are moving by themselves and chase after their target.

Rex was fighting using a twine blades, one is red and the other is blue, the red one was leaving a trail of fire with each attack and the blue one was leaving a trail of water and ice with each attack, the fire was destroying the weapons and armour it struck, while the ice was slowing the movement of the enemy the water would cut them into pieces.

Seth was fighting using his bare hands, he was punching the air and suddenly a repel would spread across the space in front of him sending his targets flying, according to {Analyze} he is using a special type of martial arts, the essence of that martial arts was to control your mana to send it across the space you are attacking and affecting it in a lot of ways, he would sometimes punch his enemies directly in the chest which causes their armour to breakdown into pieces, then he would finish them off with a punch to the face destroying their heads completely.

"go surround and attack him from all directions!! He can't fend off all of our attacks at the same time!!"

I was surrounded by ten of the knights and the heavy knights, but… "{Shadow Arts}!! …and {Batto: Iai Enjin}"

I held them in place using their own shadows and then I beheaded all of them with one flowing motion, after that, I started attacking the heavy knights, when they saw me attacking, they all held their shields up to block me, but my attacks have reduced all of them to pieces, Scarlet was sharp enough to cut through dragons scales and bones, so cutting through some armour was no big deal.

"dame it!! These skeletons keep regenerating no matter who much we destroy them they keep coming back!!"

"another group of knights died!! How can we lose to a group of only four people?!! We are un elite troops for god's sake!!"

"GYAAAA!! MY ARM!! MYYYYYY AAAARRRRM!!"

In a matter of two hours, all of the enemy troops were killed brutally, leaving the idiot son and his friends staring at us in a daze, after a brief moment they started running away.

"Retreat!! Retreat!! We can't fight against those monsters!!"

"{Teleport} ….{Telekinesis}"

"wha-?!! GUHHH!!"

I teleported to in front of them and used my skill {Telekinesis} drop all of them from their horses to the ground, and then I started walking toward them slowly while leaning Scarlet on my shoulder, and Lao, Rex and Seth were coming from behind them as well.

"so,….. is that all you have? Coward"

"Impossible!! Impossible!! Impossible!! We can't be defeated!! We can't!!"

"what are you an idiot? You have already lost, you are defeated, you and all of your stupid friends were no match for us four"

"Ooh, it looks like the other group have finished their fight as well, that was the signal of victory!!,...…erm, sorry what were you saying?"

The idiot son just stared at the fireworks we used as a victory signal with a dreadful look on his face, our fight was recorded and broadcasted throughout the whole town, so the other group saw our fight from start to end, we used this strategy to raise our army's morals while dropping the enemy's morals.

The elfs were sceptical about if they can trust a human with the lives of their brethren, but when they heard that the young master of the village will accompany him along with an (S) rank elf adventurer, they could only expect good results.

But it seems not all of the elfs were happy to know that their brethren were coming back home.

Lanzen Berlarn is the head of the council that advises the elder of the village, and he is the big brother of the current elder of the village who is bedridden at the moment because of an unknown illness.

He and most of the council members were clearly not happy about the return of their brethren, they were looking from the direction of the gate to the faces of their fellow elfs.

The elfs in the village waited for the human to come back for three hours but he didn't show up, the human told them that he will come back by the sunrise today, but more than two hours had passed since then but he was nowhere to be seen.

"See?!! See?!! I told you we shouldn't trust the humans!! And there you have it!! After trusting him with your young master he went and disappeared with him!! He must have taken them as slaves by now!!"

Lanzen saw this as his chance to incites the people of the town against that human, and he started inciting the people against the adventurer's guild as well, and then he started blaming the guild master for all of this, but suddenly one of the elfs who worked in the guild came running and calling for the guild master.

"Shalden-sama!!Shalden-sama!! a letter arrived for you!!"

"a letter for me? From who?"

"it's from Mark-sama the guild master in Donatis!!"

"let me see, hmm...…hahahahahahaha, I see!! I see!!"

They continued to wait for one more hour before they could see a huge group of elfs and beastmen marching toward the village.

After going back to the safe place where the elfs and beastmen are waiting for us, we found that they have cooked a lot of food for us while they were waiting for us.

"We have cooked some of the food you left for us for you guys, we thought you must be hungry because you didn't eat anything since this morning"

"thank you for that, we were really hungry after that battle"

"Ryo is right, I'm really glad to find this much food prepared for us"

We started eating while watching the beastmen children playing around and running after each other, and the elf children were inspecting the barrier and hitting it with stones and stick to see how strong is it.

I noticed that some of the elfs were talking happily with the beastmen, but most of them were sitting in the corner of the barrier and looking at me with an unhappy face on their faces, Lao noticed that and was about to scold them but I stopped him from doing that.

Then I felt someone was watching me intensely, and when I looked in that direction I saw a beastmen boy who is around five years old looking at us with a mouth full of drool, so I singled for him to come closer.

"do you want to eat with us?"

"…can I?"

"yes, go ahead"

"yay"

The boy had a fox ears and tail, he was a fox beastmen. His father saw him eating with us and came to apologize, but I told him that I was alright with him eating with us, the boy's mother was chatting happily with the elf women Clair.

After eating I carried the fox boy who is named Kon on my shoulders and called out to everyone inside the barrier it was time to leave, I put all the tents and the leftover stuff inside my {Storage}, and then after that, I had everyone help me clean the place before taking the barrier down.

I asked everyone to come closer to me and used {Teleport} to take us to the vicinity of the elf village and from there we started walking toward it by foot.

After reaching the barrier I used {Hijack} to make it so beastmen could pass through, and we were greeted by the scene of every elf in the village waiting for us.

"Lao can I ask you to provide an empty space for me and the beastmen, I'll set a camp there and I'll provide food for all of us"

"got it"

"and take this hairpin and give it to your wife, it's enchanted in case she was in danger"

"is it time already?"

"yes, a huge fight will break out in the next couple weeks, so be prepared"

The guild master was the first to come and greet us, and the freed elfs started running towards their families and friends.

After erecting all the tents and making a place to cook in, I erected two baths and covered them with big tents and I hanged up two signs by the entrances of the tents, the signs had men and women written on them respectively.

I was in the same tent with Seth, he said that he wanted to talk about something with me, Kon also insisted to stay with us which caused his parents to come and apologize to me again but I told them I was fine with him staying in the same tent with us, it seems that he had become attached to me.

After that, we started cooking lunch for everyone, and after eating our lunch I assembled all the beastmen to talk to them about what are their plans from now on.

"We don't really have any plans, to be honest, most of us used to live with some of the humans of this country, we lived in harmony with the humans in those hidden villages"

"hidden?"

"yes, there are villages were humans and beastmen lives in harmony, but the royal family of this country attack and kill all the humans and enslave us beastmen, naturally no one should know where these villages are located but they are discovered by coincidence from time to time"

"the holy theocracy attacks the beastmen continent every year, but sometimes this country sends its soldiers to help them and they always capture beastmen and use them as slaves"

I used {Shadow Arts: Shadow Domain} and transformed the whole area into one huge shadow and used that shadow to hold the demons and their summonses in place, Kage and his family started eating the demons one after the other, the demons had the ability to regenerate but the rate they were eaten at was way faster than their regeneration, it didn't take more than five minutes for Kage and his family to eat all of the demons.

"No!! No!! No!! My demons!! Noooooo!! This is impossible!! How can this happen!!"
