24 24. Undercurrents

While Ast was busy freeing his tribe and moving swiftly towards the central region of the orient forest, someone made the information about the vampire ancestor public.

Someone high on the ladder leaked the vampire's location in the orient forest of planet bloom-01, as well as the story about how 'Resistance' was making a tactical plan to save this vampire, was circulating among the concerned channels.

Now 'The Council' and 'The order' were free to publically move their forces towards planet bloom-01 as everything was already out in open.

Ast was moving quickly towards the central regions and was now minutes away, along the way he asked Dave various questions about his clan and faction to get a better picture of the conflict and the parties involved.

Ast and Dave finally reached the place where the vampire ancestor was buried, along the way Ast could see various arrays and runes inscribed but he didn't know the purpose of these.

Dave took out a crystal and a vial containing the blood of one of their clan's founders. He explained to Ast that the crystal was there to open the array mechanism to bring out the tomb and this vial of blood would break the dormant state of the ancestor.

Ast instructed him not to use the vial unless instructed. Dave took out a scroll from his storage ring and placed the crystal on the ground. But the location where to put this crystal was the key to operating this array and the scroll was there to tell Dave this exact location.

Ast was intrigued seeing all the details and he even kept a mental note to learn more about arrays and runes later. Suddenly various runes lit up and the crystal disintegrated in front of their eyes turning into strange and ancient symbols.

The ground they were standing on vibrated for a while and a very clean coffin emerged from the ground. Nobody would guess that this coffin would have been underground for a considerable amount of time seeing the top-notch condition of the coffin.

There was some mechanical noise of some cogs turning and then the door to the coffin opened with a snap. Inside the coffin lay a man, who seems to be in his early forties, his skin colour was a bit pale and deathly and his hair pitch black, he was wearing royal clothes adorned by jewels and artefacts.

Seeing this sight Ast didn't wait for much longer and activated his skill 'Absolute Servitude', a blood red insignia was formed on the tip of Ast's index finger which he placed on the temple of the dormant vampire.

The insignia was absorbed inside the vampire and suddenly a small coating of morphing blood-like substance completely covered the vampire ancestor. He was in a cocoon of blood which was moving and squirming like jelly.

The cocoon started floating in mid-air and then without any warning suddenly all the blood enveloping the vampire was sucked inside his body and for the first time in quite a long time, this ancient-looking vampire ancestor opened his eyes.

An ancient aura surrounded a large area centred on this vampire. The colony of bats that Ast had avoided earlier were flying at great speed towards this man in front of Ast and Dave.

He was completely swarmed by this huge number of bats but he didn't even flinch and it even seemed that he was greeting them as if they were long-lost companions meeting after a long time.

The visibly huge colony of bats suddenly entered the man's body and only a tattoo was left on his wrist.

Then this vampire suddenly knelt in front of Ast and the words that came out of his mind shocked Dave to his core.

"Your servant awaits your orders master"
