1 Fight With Mom

"Why does it always seem like someone is following me?" Caryn thought, as she looked around nervously. As usual no one was around or following her, but she can't shake the feeling of eyes watching her. Shivers went through her body as fear started to overtake her. She started walking faster up until the point where it seemed as is she's running. "I need to get home" she thought while trying to catch her breath.

For the past two weeks Caryn have been getting the feeling that she's being followed. She tried talking to her mother about it, but as usual her mother was too busy working and paid no mind to her. Caryn is one of those children who grows up with a single mother who considers herself an independent woman. To be quite honest, she certainly understands why her father left them when she was still too young to understand.

Today she can't even remember his face. Not that there is anything in the house to remember him by. Her mother made sure that she erased all memories of him. After her father left, her mother buried herself in her work and Caryn was left to tend to herself.

At the age of six it was nearly impossible to look after herself, but it was not as if she had any other choice. For the longest part of her life she felt as if she was the reason why her father left and that it was the reason for her mother's behavior towards her.

"Ugh! Why am I even thinking about all this crap when I should be focused on getting home?" she asked herself while crossing the last stop to her home.

She opened the door and sighed when she saw that her mother was already home. "Great, what now?" she thought as she looked at the woman in front of her, looking at her as if she was something that the cat dragged in. "Good day mother", she said looking at the gorgeous woman in front of her. Well she could be quite beautiful if she smiled more.

"Do you care to explain why you were absent from school yesterday and today and also where you've been"? Gwen asked. The petite teenager just raised her eyebrows and threw her bag on the couch. "Look at me when I'm speaking to you Caryn!" Gwen said, now irritated by the behavior of her only child. "Listen you do what makes you happy and I'll do me. It's not like you care about me anyway" Caryn answered. "Well young lady, since you are in my house where I pay the bills, I have the right to ask you about your whereabouts." She looked at the stubborn child with eyes that's now spitting fire. "You know what Gwen, why didn't you just give me up for adoption when dad left since I'm such a burden to you?" Caryn asked, now equally enraged. She stormed up the stairs and locked herself in her room. With tears rolling down her face, she jumped on the bed and cried herself to sleep.
