Prologue: The Southern Blossom Dynasty.

The Northern Border Dragon Dynasty reigned in the northern land while the Southern Blossom Dynasty reigned in the southern land. The two dynasties coexisted naturally and peacefully each respecting the other dynasty's territory. The Northern Border Dragon Dynasty specialized in martial arts while the Southern Blossom Dynasty specialized in literature and art.

The Southern Blossom Dynasty governed five major cities;Jinshi Harbour,a bustling port city in the North bordering the Beinan Sea known for its trade and sea activities Jiuxiao City in the East,Yunqi City in the South ,the Vermillion City in the West and the Imperial Capital being the centre. The Imperial Capital was so large that it had small prefectures or towns within it. There were five prefectures within the Imperial Capital namely;Mingzhou Prefecture Xianzhou Prefecture,Hezhou Prefecture Yinzhou Prefecture and Lianzhou Prefecture.

Mingzhou(Bright Prefecture) was a bustling town known for its vibrant markets and lantern festivals that lit up the night sky. It was known for its brightly painted wooden buildings with intricate roof frameworks. The town's architecture featured heavy overhanging roofs with wide eaves and slightly upturned corners to protect the wooden structures from weathering Buildings were adorned with vibrant lanterns and decorative motifs symbolizing prosperity and happiness.It was where the Imperial Palace was located and where the rich government officials and businessmen resided. It had landforms like Jade Hill which was the source of the legendary Jade River which flowed all the way to Hezhou Prefecture draining its water into He Lake.

Xianzhou (Immortal Prefecture)was a mystical place rumored to be home to immortals, with breathtaking landscapes such as Wuling Mountain. The buildings had incorporated elements that reflected its mystical reputation.Pagodas and temples with multi-tiered roofs and flying eaves such as Moonlit Pagoda dominated the Xianzhou Prefecture.

Hezhou(Harmony Prefecture) was a peaceful town famous for its harmonious community and the serene He Lake,which reflected the surrounding cherry blossoms.The town featured courtyard houses with symmetrical layouts and calm reflecting pools. Public buildings like tea houses and meeting halls had open-air pavilions that allowed residents to enjoy the serene views of He Lake.

Yinzhou(Hidden Prefecture) was a secluded town shrouded in mist,known for its elusive beauty and a few secretive martial clans residing there.The architecture in Yinzhou was designed to blend into the misty environment. Rammed earth buildings and stone fortifications provided defense, while the residential areas were characterized by low-profile, earth-toned buildings with courtyards that offered privacy and seclusion.

Lianzhou (Lotus Prefecture) was a town surrounded by lotus ponds,celebrated for its exquisite lotus seed cuisine and annual Lotus Blossom Festival.Lianzhou was celebrated for its waterfront architecture. Houses and public buildings were built on stilts along the lotus ponds, with walkways and bridges connecting them. The architecture featured open spaces and large windows to capture the beauty of the blooming lotuses.

The Imperial Palace stretched up to a length of 100 li(50 kilometres) with magnificent palace halls such as Longwei Hall which was the emperor's hall, Yuhua Hall the Empress' hall,Tianming Hall,Yingwu Hall the Second Prince's Hall and Meilin Hall which was the Imperial Consort's residence. There were two Ancestral Halls; Shengzu Hall (Hall of the Sacred Ancestors) ,a grand hall where the dynasty's ancestors were venerated and Zuxian Hall( Hall of the Virtuous Forebears) which was dedicated to the remembrance of the dynasty's most revered ancestors.

In the palace there were also lecture halls such as Wenxue Hall ( Hall of Literature) where members of the royal family,sons and daughters of officials were taught literary works and art.Ziran Hall (Hall of Nature) where the study of natural sciences ,ethics, political science,morality and philosophy was done and Orchid Needlecraft Haven where girls were taught needlework.

The Wen family was the Royal Family reigning over the Southern Blossom Dynasty. It consisted of thirty six year old Emperor Wen Jian,thirty four year old Empress Bai Xueying, thirty one year old Consort Huan Su Yi, sixteen year old Crown Prince Wen Mingye, fifteen year old Prince Wen Hai and fifteen year old Princess Wen Xiang. Wen Mingye and Wen Xiang were born of the Empress while Wen Hai was Consort Huan's only child.
