Chapter 3:Veil of the Jade Empress.
Most songs the Honeyed twins performed were composed by Mizi Yue and each attire they wore matched the theme of the song they were performing. That night they were performing a song titled,'Kindred Spirit' composed by Mizi Yue . Kindred spirit was a love song about soulmates who met under the an ancient tree for the first time.That night the twins wore coral red dresses.
The dresses had a cross collar design with the right side over the left,tied with a sash ,and a form-fitting bodice that flowed into a wide and flowing skirt, reflecting the traditional Hanfu style. The dresses' fabric were made of luxurious silk with intricate patterns woven into them. The sleeves were long and loose,draping gracefully.Golden hairpins were nestled in their hair that was elegantly styled into a traditional updo. They wore matching golden rings,bracelets and necklaces that matched the opulence of their dresses.
As Mizi Yue plucked the strings of the qin,the girls began the dance with a gentle sway, their silk sleeves fluttering like the wings of a butterfly. They performed the 'Lotus Step',their feet tracing delicate patterns on the marble floor, mimicking the bloom of a lotus in moonlight and emulating the part of the song where the love spark between the soulmates in the song began blooming inside their hearts. The dance emulated the similar melodies of the soulmates' hearts in the song through the synchronized dance of the twins.
With a coy glance they transitioned into the 'Willow Sway' their bodies bending and flowing with the grace of willow branches in a soft breeze to represent the part in the song where the love between the soulmates flowed like poetry.Their hands adorned with golden rings,weaved through the air creating enticing patterns.
As the music crescendoed, they concluded with 'Silken Embrace ' a move where they enveloped themselves in their long flowing sleeves only to emerge like a blossom unfurling its blossoms,revealing a glimpse of allure that lied within.
The next performance was also a song composed by Mizi Yue and the performer sang out the lyrics unlike the Kindred Spirit where only the melody was played. The girl was wearing a black Hanfu dress with a black cloak on top and a black kuitou hat with a black translucent veil attached covering her face.The song she performed was Veil of the Jade Empress,a song about a mysterious beautiful woman.

It was half past eleven and all the other guests had already left the dance house. Xue Yao was left alone looking around in confusion like a homeless wretch. Wen Mingye was no where to be found. On the table where they had sat,there were a number of small empty wine pots. Xue Yao searched every possible place he thought Wen Mingye could have gone but he still didn't find him.
