Merry Christmas, everyone!

This chapter has a little bit of a sadder theme towards the end, but I kind of liked writing it!

"His name is... Uzumaki Naruto."

"Uzumaki? Then, is he the son of Kushina-sama?! Wait... but that must mean... Is he-"

"Yes, he is the jinchuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox, the son of Kushina and most importantly, the one that Minato left behind in his place." the Third said, thinking back to when Minato told him about hisbfuture child.

'Minato... you were regarded as the fastest shinobi in the world and also one of the strongest, why did it have to go down like this? I can not imagine how sad it must be... to not live long enough to see your own son's future...'

"Lord Third! We are taking Kushina-sama to the hospital! This is really bad, she had the bijuu extracted from her!"

"Hurry! And get someone to ask Tsunade for her help, she is the only one that might be of help in this situation!"

"Yes, Hiruzen-sama!"

(Somewhere in the village, two days later)

"This room... I'm back here again..."

"Look! Izuna-san is awake!"

'How did I get back in hospital?! Maybe I overworked myself during that fight with... Madara I guess...'

"Hey, you! Are you a nurse? How long have I been asleep?" Izuna asked one of the women looking at him.

"It's been a couple of days since the Nine Tails attack. Don't worry, it's all finished now."

'Don't worry? As if I have anything to worry about anymore... I lost too much already.'

"What happened while I was unconscious?"

"Well... a lot of things happened... most notably, Lord Fourth, Minato-sama, lost his life fighting the beast."

"Minato-sama died?!"

'How could such a thing happen?! He was the strongest shinobi in the whole village!' he thought. 'Is the Fox that powerful?!'

"Izuna-san, I have something to tell you."

"Yes?"

"You might have heard this already, but... both of your parents died during the incident... I am terribly sorry for having to deliver such horrible news." the nurse said, with an apologetic tone.

"It's... fine... I knew already. What happened with the Uchiha compound?"

"It was destroyed almost entirely."

"And do you know anything about Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha?"

"I do know that Shisui is fine, I believe he is currently in active duty. The other two are probably also fine."

"Ok, that's good to hear, thank you. When can I get out of here?"

"Unfortunately, you need to wait a little longer. The reason you got here in the first place is that you exhausted your chakra reserves and fell unconscious. You are not injured or anything, but your body needs to recover."

"But I can't stay here any longer, I need to go train! I have a chunin exam in a couple of months!"

"I'm sorry but this is best for you."

'This can't be! I need to get out of here... Who knows what happened to the village while I was asleep? And not only that, I need to pass this chunin exam... I need to make them proud...'

(Two days later, in front of the hospital)

"Thank you, I will go now. Good day."

"Good day, Izuna-kun!"

'Finally out of that place... now... I need to find Shisui.'

Izuna started running towards the usual training spot where he met up with Itachi and Shisui.

As he hurried there, he looked around him at the village. On each side of the street, on every street, destroyed buildings and sad looking people where everywhere. The sight was depressing for Izuna. To grow up in a village and then see it in such a state was obviously really saddening, even if Izuna knew it was going to be rebuilt.

'I'm never going to forgive that man!' he thought with an angered expression on his eyes.

As he reached the training ground he noticed the absence of the trees and grass that filled the area. In fact, he didn't even realise he arrived at first because of this.

"Shisui! I need to see you! Are you here?!"

"Izuna!" answered a familiar face.

Izuna turned around with a disturbing look on his face.

"Itachi... not you... I need to talk to Shisui!" he said, activating his Sharingan.

Itachi felt threatened by Izuna, and even more he felt shocked.

Shisui then came from behind Itachi, looking at Izuna for the first time since the incident.

"Izuna... you..."

"Shisui!.... I finally understand what you meant... I matured, I now know what it means to be a shinobi, what life is like... I understand what you were telling me back then... You said that there is no clan that feels greater love than the Uchiha, that our power comes from the bonds we form with others, from the friends and family we try to protect... I finally found out what you meant....

I felt love for my family, my mother, my father... I felt a strong need to become stronger and protect them and even in the end they protected me... I had love for them and...

got punished for it.

For loving them I felt pain I never even imagined before. I felt despair, hatred. I understood that life is cruel and miserable. I now know that bonds were only made to be broken, so I decided that I would end all friendships, that I would become stronger than anyone else so that no one could look down on me or threaten me.

Starting right here, I will end my emotions and begin my real training. I will avenge my parents and kill that masked man.

There is no other way to end my hatred..."

He raised his head once more to Shisui and Itachi who were both shocked by his words. What scared them, however, were his eyes.

Maybe without him even knowing, Izuna had done it...

He had awakened the Third Tomoe, he had fully matured his Sharingan!

"Itachi, stay behind me." Shisui said, wary of Izuna's clenched fists and angered face.

"Shisui!! I will come to you in a year. At that time, I will defeat you in battle and prove my strength!" Izuna yelled out.
