“Is there not usually an alcoholic beverage in one of these carriages?” Luis asked, pointing to the small bar Armand had put in. “Another Dos Equis would be refreshing.”

He was a little surprised that the cousin hadn’t called him on the fake Spanish accent. He kept slipping into his native Mexican. Maybe an Anglo couldn’t tell the difference, though. Like he had a tough time telling an Irish accent from a Scots one.

Luis was having fun with his persona. Zorro was a larger than life character, one of those men who’d do anything without fear. Becoming the hero meant Luis didn’t have to be nervous that Armand’s cousin might not like skinny Mexican boys, or might not like bear chasing cubs. Zorro would go after what he wanted, maybe even wrestle it into submission

The cousin fumbled with the latch, but managed to open the bar and pull out a beer. “I haven’t been inside many of these things,” he mumbled beneath his mask.
