“Maybe we should recreate their first date.”

“Lock ‘em up somewhere and make ‘em talk.”

“Handcuff them together for a day.”

“Make Armand jealous.”

“No, make J.T. jealous.”

Ted raised his hands for quiet. “The jealousy thing isn’t working. Both of them have been playing around. Armand says J.T. needs to be with guys his own age and J.T. says Armand needs someone older and more sophisticated. We have to come up with something different.”

A tiny hand went up at the back of the room. “We got something in the mail that might help.”

Mrs. Ingleheart, the diminutive matron of the office staff, rose. “The charity bachelor auction is coming up pretty soon. We got the poster and sign-up sheet, and it just hit me.”

She paused, evidently expecting the others to understand. When nobody responded, she heaved a sigh. “You boys need to read more romance novels. We get both of them to volunteer, then we secretly buy them both, and have them show up at the same place.”
