Chapter 25

J.T. wandered out of the showers to watch, toweling his long hair dry. I gave the crew five minutes to stop staring, then bellowed for order and we got back to work. I did catch more than one “teenager” (of both genders) paying more attention to the kid than to the supposed game in front of them, which added to the re-takes. J.T. managed to sit through nearly an hour of cuts and re-takes and minor changes in the script. Then, he got tired of watching “Bart” flub his lines and fall off his mark.

“Okay if I go get something to eat?” he asked while John was setting up yet another re-take. “No offense, but this is kinda boring.”

“I told you it’s a job, kid. And it’s hard work, not a lot of glitz and glamor.” I handed the boy my bank card. “Take a cab down to Bay Cities and get sandwiches for everybody. At the rate that knucklehead is going, we’re going to be here half the night.”
