An Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint

Ethan Nakamura was sleeping peacefully when the Star Stream system was introduced. Faced with the struggles of surviving in a ruined world, he fights for the characters he once read, but who have now emerged from the pages and into his life. Knowledge of TWSA aids him, but due to a late encounter with the author, he receives something else. Short stories specific to the U.S. scenarios he fights in. Short stories centered around Anna Croft, shortened to ACSS. With the culmination of this knowledge, Ethan seeks to survive and save the people he loves in this ruined world, and make it to the end of the scenarios. He only has one wish; to make it to the end of this world and see what is beyond. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I rate this story for 14+ and older. Episode 2-The Psychotic King (2)

[What is a good person? What is a fool? What constitutes a selfish person? What constitutes a self-aware person? These are questions that people ask themselves – questions that people don't get to answer. There was a woman out there, in pain – in suffering.] Asher Kim, Imaginatio Ultra, 6/9/2021 10:04 AM

These are the words that I contemplated when I was walking through downtown Seattle. The air was still smoky, the sky was clear, but the dead bodies of Incarnations littered the road. Mathew McFarland was currently killing some random group, and he was using his red flag to buff the party.

[You have received a +5 Buff on Strength Stats!]

My strength stat was currently 22. I also found out that my [Anger Lord] attribute multiplies Strength and Stamina on an exponential scale. If my strength and stamina stats were 22 - which they are - then my [Anger Lord] attribute would multiply it like this: [Anger Lord] Lv.3 times Strength and Stamina equals = 66 to my Strength and Stamina. Honestly, it was so broken that I didn't even know if it was right. For now, I could only use the [Anger Lord] attribute time to time. Plus, the scenario limit for stats was 60 as well.

[You have activated "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" Lv.3!]

I looked at Mathew McFarland. He seemed to be going on a freaking kill streak. He was killing an entire group of Incarnations so quickly. Some of them were children.

[Constellation "Demonic Judge of Fire" has left the chat.]

[Constellation "Abyssal Black Dragon" has left the chat.]

[Constellation "Secretive Plotter" is pursing his lips.]

(Fucking, Ethan... help me...) Mathew McFarland thought.

I won't help you, you bastard. Instead, you should do all the work. I looked at the other Incarnations. They had puzzled looks on their expressions, but these people were idiots. The [Insidious] skill was powerful. Paired with no emotions, the person would had it would be able to do quite well in chaotic situations. Mathew approached an Incarnation. They got on their knees and begged for life. With my skill, I saw that this person was a husband that had a wife.

I looked away. That was the least I could do. Cinnamon approached me as I looked at the Puget Sound of Seattle. It was such a beautiful day. The sky was clearing somewhat, humans were dying, and the world was being terraformed into something better. Yet, I felt nothing when I looked at this city. Shortly, I saw something in my view.

[Incarnation "Cinnamon" has used their skill "Seduction Lv.3" on you.]

"Hey, Ender, how are you?"

(It's actually, Ethan.) I thought. I didn't want to say it though.

"I'm doing well. You?"

(I can't believe I'm talking to this loser,) she thought.

Well, I want a beautiful woman with a sense of style and self-respect. We can't get what we want in life, you bitch. This is what I wanted to say to her, but pretenses had to be made. I casted my eyes to the ground.

"I'm doing well..." I responded.

"Uhh..." (Weirdo), she thought. "Well, I'm going to go somewhere else!!!" (Mister McFarland needs my help,) she thought giddily.

I was still standing. I looked towards the sky again. After I was done, I turned towards the "main group." They seemed like such a nice "family". It made my blood boil.

[Secretive Plotter has sponsored 300 coins to Incarnation "Ethan Nakamura."]

(Thanks man...) I thought. (I'm going to need it.)

Mathew McFarland would die soon. But I needed the other character of TWSA: I needed George Machen.

***

During the First Scenario.

George Machen was done puking. Tears leaked out from his eyes, but his glasses caught his tears, and fogged them. His muscles were still twitching, and his breathing was out of control. He needed to get up. Someone had to take control of this situation and -

"Hey, stop!!!"

A fellow trainee was trying to kill another. Others were shocked, while some thought it was training. But... George didn't think it was. His comrade in arms just died, the drill sergeant died because they were killed by Lieutenant. Michele. She killed the drill sergeant. George wasn't a good marine, but he knew this and thought this: (People can't just get their head blown open in an instant. People can't die in an instant.)

George knew what to do. He needed to escape from this place. He ran to the entrance of the dorm, but their was a blue shield there. He tried kicking it. He needed to get out.

"George!!" Jael yelled.

George felt a hard hand hit his shoulder. He almost used that Krav Maga he was learning, but it was-

"George, it's me!!!" It was Jael Bodesh, George's best friend since middle school. He wouldn't would he....?

"You know what you have to do, George!!"

Jael placed a sharp knife into George's hand. They began to speak and said: "We are good soldiers... We can't be like these animals...!-"

Before Jael could finish his sentence, a blanket was wrapped around his neck. Jael flailed his arms around desperately, but he couldn't move. George, knife in hand, tried to stab the attacker. But the bastard maneuvered Jael in a certain way and-

-Stab...-

George Machen accidently stabbed Jael Bodesh in the heart. With trembling eyes and arms, Jael grabbed the blanket around his neck and moved out from under it. He began to fight against this fellow trainee that attacked him, but the scenario timer was quickly dwindling down.

[30 seconds until First Scenario - Proof of Value is over!]

Every marine trainee saw this message. Some intensified their attacks, while others despaired.

"George!!!" Jael shouted. "You killed me!!"

Jael looked to the sky, as if he knew something was watching.

"You stabbed me in the heart!! It's okay and--"

[Proceeding with check-out!]

Jael's head exploded. He would never finish the sentence. The blood splattered on George Machen's face. It never entered his eyes though. George Machen took of his glasses. They dropped and shattered onto the ground, as he let them go from shock.

[Constellation's are questioning this scenario!]

[Constellations are besieging the Dokkaibi Bureau with complaints!]

[The Dokkaibi Bureau has sent an Intermediate Dokkaibi!!]

[Woah, the hell is this?!] Dokkaibi Herald said. [How did you survive this scenario!?! Sheesh, I've been trying to make sure everything was going smoothly and this happens...]

That is how George Machen survived the scenario.
