An Odd Little Girl

If monsters were a thing, what else was there? Spirits, beasts, vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards, holy creatures, demons, angels - that covers most of them. Who knew what else was there? If that didn’t make it dangerous enough, how about telling you that I live right beside a ravine that had a waterfall flowing into it and a lake at the bottom? Oh, and a valley between several mountains that had numerous forests in it with a jungle right around the corner. Yeah, that’s exactly where I live. In this weird, fantasy world.

Last Time

Alyth's P.O.V

"Mallo, we're changing shifts," I said, putting my hands in the cold water. "I know. Wash your hands well." I nodded without looking at him. Ribius was sitting on the couch, reading a book.

We are guarding Masilta for the last time. Starting this morning, we're going to the East mountains to look for Halvort and the others. They've taken way too long, and we're all so worried about them.

Mallo told me to wash my hands because when fighting monsters, their blood splatters all over my hands, and it can be poisonous if it's not washed off properly.

I watched Mallo fighting the monsters outside the Village Gate with my chin propped on my palm. He's using Martial Arts because he doesn't use any weapon. I blinked twice. I can't get used to the silence.

I hopped down from the chair I was sitting on, walked over to Ribius, and sat on his lap. "Hey, get off." He demanded. I shook my head. He sighed and I grinned, taking it as a sign of victory.

"I wanna read with you!" I said while pointing at the book in front of both of us. "It's boring for you." He said as he leaned the book down. I shook my head. "Nothing can be more boring than sitting and not doing anything!" He rolled his eyes.

"Fine." He held up the book again and we both read in our minds. Though, I can tell he reads faster than me because he keeps on turning the page after 10 seconds of reading it!

"Eh? I don't understand," I finally said after five minutes. Ribius turns the pages way too quickly, and the subject of this book is almost impossible to understand. Come on, who would, when the title of the book is 'Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy'?!

"Can we read another book?" I asked with an overly cute and innocent face. He folded the bottom-right corner of the page we were on and closed the book. He put it down on the table next to the couch and picked another from the pile.

Yep, I can totally understand this when the title is 'Introduction to Quantum Mechanics with Applications to Chemistry'! Why does he only read books with such confusing titles?

I turned back and looked at him with the 'you-kidding-me-or-what' look. He grunted and pushed me off his lap and I fell face-first into the floor. I stood back up and shot him a hateful glare. "Meanie," I said before stomping my way into the storage room.

I could see Ribius ignoring me and going back to read his book. I opened the large door that leads into the storage room. As soon as I opened the door, the Magic Candle lit with fire.

I was always fascinated by the Candle. I entered and closed the door behind me. I love this room, it has the coolest things ever! Mallo usually stores his potions, Magic books, spells, scrolls, and even Magic boxes in here!

The entire room had shelves all over it, with books and scrolls floating in the air. I smiled. There was a big table in the middle of the room, books, potions, and strange ingredients all over it.

There were small cabinets and drawers with random stuff in them, and some drawers were floating as well! I looked around in awe. I've been in this room around 4 times now, but it still amazes me!

On the left side of one of the shelves laid a large, detailed map of the Western lands and seas. On the right side of the same shelf was a same-sized map but of the Eastern lands and seas instead.

Somewhere on another shelf probably were the northern and southern lands.

I sat down on one of the chairs that had a wool blanket on it. On my side of the table laid papers, an inkpot, and a quill. There was also a rolled-up scroll. That was the question scroll that Mallo and Ribius wrote for me.

I picked a paper and placed it in front of me, and with my right hand, I held the quill and dipped it into the inkpot. Then I wrote.

'Roah Ja Savah Wel Tis Illvense E Juhara, E Sev Ronta Hei Wasq Ru Nawata Ci Xirun.' I was studying Western countries and seas. I even had to draw their exact places and cities, although I do forget some of them.

If you look at the map from above, Evertine would be North Northeast, and Sever would be East Southeast. In the upper right corner of Evertine is a country named Neresole. Above and around them is Seb-betaten, Ocean of the East. On the bottom edge of Evertine is a small island and in the center of that island is the village of Masilta.

Then there's Quavar, a large island in the top middle of the map. A nearby island is Ivastolle. On the Western side of the map is Bai Han, the 'Asian' Empire. Hesura, the ocean of the west, surrounds Bai Han. In the exact center of the map is an unnamed island, although it's probably going to be Bai Han's territory. In my past life, Asia was eastern. But here, it's western. How interesting...

Then, Illvense is the middle ocean.

I learned all of that, but Mallo and Ribius are both giving me very hard questions. Something like 'Why would Bai Han have the advantage of getting control over the middle island?' or 'What's the percentage of all the lands and waters?'

Most of those questions are referred to in books, but Ribius and Mallo both won't tell me a single hint about what book it is, so it's very hard to figure them out. I am currently trying to solve these questions.

All of this, and I didn't even start the Eastern, Southern, or Northern countries and seas. In my past life, the oceans were divided into 4. Here, in this world, they were divided based on territories. That's why the Hesura ocean of the West is the second-largest, only after Illvense. Hesura is so big because it surrounds Bai Han, the largest country in the Western area.

In my other life, Bai Han would actually be considered a continent. Although, even after Sever took control over Evertine, it's not Sever's territory yet. If it were, then it would be the absolute largest Western country.

Aside from that, Illvense is definitely the largest ocean in the Western area. That is only because there are two lines. One line separates Evertine, Neresole, and Sever's ocean, and the other line separates Bai Han's ocean.

Illvense is in the middle of those lines, and it has more water and space and even depth than the others. And Quavar is above that ocean, making Quavar's most common food to be fish and other seafood creatures.

I heard the door creak. My head shot up to see who came in. "Why're you in here?" A deep, clearly annoyed voice spoke. "It's quiet in here!" I exclaimed with my hands in the air.

"*sigh* Fine..." Hehe, Mallo is way too soft on me. That'll come back to bite him in the end- Just kidding! I love Mallo! And Ribius! And da-* .....

....

What was I about to say? I... forgot... If I forgot, that means it wasn't important. I shrugged. I didn't know that Mallo was staring at me intensely.

"You're doing your work?" I nodded at his question, removing my hands from the paper so he could see.

He went back to reading his newspaper. "....Hey, Mallo." He tilted his newspaper so he could look at me. "Could you tell me about King Sevelion I and King Evelion?" I asked with an adorable look on my face.

He sighed and placed his newspaper on the table. "When did you find out about them?" I looked at my question scroll. "One of the questions mention both their names... Plus, I've read about them a lot," He nodded slowly at my answer. "But I never heard the full story."

He propped his chin in the palm of his right hand. "125 years ago. When the Ancient Quavs conquered the village of Sivilia, there was a specific order in Seveli." I tilted my head. "Seveli?" He nodded.

"Seveli was the former name of Sever and Evertine. They were both one country." I leaned in forward. "Seveli was ruled by King Hannes, King Sevelion and King Evelion's father. Before King Hannes died, he divided the land equally between his two sons. Since King Evelion was older and was the crown prince, he was supposed to have the entire land, but King Hannes decided to let both his sons inherit the land." He placed his right leg on top of the other.

"He divided it based on his sons' good doings. King Evelion did more than King Sevelion, so he got a slightly bigger land. After King Hannes died, King Sevelion decided his land was too small and threw a war. It backfired though, and many of his people died as a result."

"What? I didn't know that... But... King Sevelion and King Evelion are brothers?" I questioned with concern and sadness. "So? When they're all blinded by greed and royalty, they don't care about family." I looked down.

"I would never do that. Why would anyone try to take their brother's land?" I clenched my fists. "Expanding their territory." "But what would that help with? Even after expanding their territory, getting money and population, what will they do?!" I yelled. It was very confusing to me.

"Taking over the world." "Why though?!" He shrugged. "It's not like I've ever wanted to take over the world." I dived deep into my thoughts. "I heard... he killed himself." Mallo shook his head.

"Lies. He was killed. By his brother's command." I looked up at Mallo in shock, my eyes widened. "Sevelion ordered Evelion's soldiers to kill their king." "Why would they kill their own king?! And, he had magic, right? How did they kill him?!" My anger took control of me now.

"Alyth, they were in no position to refuse. They couldn't refuse, or else Sevelion would kill them, and they had families. One of them snuck up on the king and stabbed him in the back. The king probably sensed it, but he didn't dodge."

"Why?" I questioned, anger clearly shown on my face. "He loved his people, and he'd rather die than let any of them get hurt." I looked down on the question scroll.

'Why did king Evelion commit suicide?' ...*scoff*

Tears rolled down my cheeks. "He... was such a good king." I wiped my tears with my sleeve. "And? What happened after that?" Mallo smiled at me.

"The people of Evertine knew that their king didn't commit suicide, but that's what it said in every book. The old people in Evertine died, and the truth died along with them. Sever still can't have Evertine fully, but Evertine is its territory. King Sevelion II is ruling over it, even though it isn't supposed to be his land. King Sevelion married the crown princess of Neresole, Jihivala, which not only granted an alliance between Neresole and Sever, but also a wife, meaning an heir." I nodded.

"They had three sons. Wertin, Arwin, and Vihole. Vihole became a knight and fought on the battlefields, Wertin became the first chancellor of Neresole, and Arwin married a noble from Sever. Wertin and Vihole were killed young. Arwin had two daughters, crown princess Kyuana, and princess Rihana. Princess Rihana got married off in Neresole, and princess Kyuana became the queen. Princess Kyuana had a son named Sevelion II." The current king of Sever and Evertine!

I went into deep thoughts again. The chancellor of Neresole, huh? He was scum. Thank god the black knight killed him. ...

...

...

...

"Mallo?" "Hm?" ... "How come you know about this?" ...

"...Long story. I'll tell you later." He said. I nodded.

"Alyth!! It's your turn!" Ribius yelled while coming into the house.

"Okay!"

___End Of Chapter 13___

HEY!!! I am sorry, I am so so so so so so sorry! I have so much school work, I got stressed for a while, and many things happened, but I am still alive and see, I was working on this chapter for so long! Some things might be confusing, so if you don't understand something, please make sure to ask me!

Oh, and, Alyth still doesn't remember her father, Angyar, because of Mallo's spell! Mallo's spell is effective until she sees Angyar.

Oh, and, the star was when Alyth was saying that she loved Ribius and Mallo and her da-. Daddy, obviously.

Currently, I am working on a chapter (Not from the story) that will include every single info point from the start of the story up until now, and the mysteries that haven't been solved. This includes every single name mentioned, species, and so many other things! I will try my best to make this story seem as believable as possible! I even drew a map! I haven't published the info point chapter because I am working on it, and the exact date of it will be announced laterrrrrrrrrr

Also, I am going to make character profiles! I am going to add links so you can have an EXAMPLE of what the characters might look like. I don't own a single of the pictures in the links though. I will try my best to write everything in detail! I also haven't published the character profiles yet, but I will make some! The exact date of when it will be posted will be announced later!

The info point chapter and the character profiles will constantly be updated whenever I write a new chapter!

Thank you guys so much for reading this crap! I will try my best to make it more interesting!

When I reach 30 chapters (end of the first season), I will probably have a three month or so hiatus.

But either way, I take so long to write because the lack of motivation is getting to me. My family cheers me on of course, but they never read the story, so I am always hoping that at least one person will comment and tell me anything, even if it's hate!

BYEBYE!!!

Have an idea about my story? Please comment on it and let me know, I need to hear your opinions!
