3 Chapter 3: Emergencies

- I'm sorry - Lucia told me - I had no idea what had happened to you.

- Don't worry - I said - I'm used to being asked those questions ...

I could not complete the word "questions" because I heard the doorbell of the house.

I opened the door and found out it was Liz. True, I did not tell you how I met her and the others.

You see, it all started when my older brother and I recruited young men like us to carry out a robbery. But we weren't going to steal anything from anyone. We were just going to raid a factory to print banknotes, and thus obtain money, because years ago, the government had scammed my parents, and had left them bankrupt. Therefore, we went to our uncles' house, and they took care of us. But years later, when my brother and I were 30 and 29 respectively, our uncles were killed in a car accident.

Therefore, we had had an unfair life. It is for that reason, my brother and I had planned a robbery of the National Banknote Factory of the Country.

We had recruited 10 young men for our heist, and each of them had almost nothing to lose.

They were called:

- Liz

- Alicia

- William

- Emily

- Janeth

- Nick

- Mark

- Christian

- Robert

And John, they 10 were my new family. That's how I explained what the plan would be like, and how it would distract the police so that they could focus on other things than the robbery.

We managed to obtain more than 30 million dollars. But we suffered 3 losses, Christian, Mark and my brother called Matias. They were shot to death by the police, giving the others and me a chance to escape with the money.

And how did I meet Lucia? Well, she was the inspector in charge of the heist operation. But one day, without her knowing that I was the leader of the robbery, I met her in a coffee shop that we both visited almost daily.

And well, we had become a couple, despite being on opposite sides.

And how did I convince her to be in mine? Well, one day she captured me, but in a place that was far from the police, but I managed to escape her capture and then I had to confess the truth about why we did all that. I told her the story of my life, from my birth to the present. And I made her see reason.

She had joined our side. And I promised her that I would make her happy.

I was glad that she was my friend, I would give her the life she wanted with me. We lived in a house, which was near the sea from the beach.

And after I told her my story, Liz rang the bell, and she told us that the police had captured Robert.

How did she manage to have contacted me?

Well, during our escape, I gave them a number in case things got ugly for each of them. But Robert and Liz were a couple, and they left together.

Therefore, I knew that Robert sacrificed himself so that Liz could escape and come to me.

It is for that reason that I told him:

- Quiet - we are going to rescue him

- How? She asked

- Doing the best we know how to do. We are going to steal the national gold reserve from the Central Bank of the Country. We have to summon the band. We are going to come back. But this time, we are going to be big.
