First mate

Lucius looked at the two and thought of something. He walked towards Byrnndi for a handshake.

Byrnndi smiled and took his hand for a handshake, too. Lucius immediately smiled as they shook hands. Only he knew why he smiled.

He had an ability that no one knew about. He never talked about this ability to anyone, not even to his closest kin. Besides, it wasn't worth talking about in his original world.

He could copy skills from someone he comes in contact with.

In his previous world, he didn't have many people to copy from. He also never gives any importance to this ability.

But who would have thought that this would be his best power in this world? He could not only copy the skill but also the mastery of the person over the skill too.

But he could only use this ability once a year. But to him, time was just a number.

Right now, he was smiling because Byrnndi had already eaten his devil fruit. So he copied the "more" power.

Lucius immediately feels that a new type of skill was added to his body, and he also gets all the information and Byrnndi's mastery over the fruit.

He also shakes hands with the Byojack too. After that, they started to chat as Lucius listened to the brothers' stories, and he also told them some of his past adventures in the sea from the old world.

Suddenly Byojack said, "I want to go to the sea too, but.." Lucius understands his meaning. He had a weak body, which was not suitable for the sea.

Byrnndi patted his brother's shoulder and said, "We will go to the sea brother after I become a little stronger."

Lucius looked at the brother and said, "Then join my crew. I am thinking of making my own crew and setting sail. I can train Byrnndi and with our power, together we can face almost everything."

They looked at each other with shock. They had felt his aura, and they were sure that he was strong. With his help, Byrnndi could grow faster, and they could also set sail easily.

They looked at Lucius and said, "Then, accept us as your crewmate, captain."

Lucius looked at the brothers and smiled. He now has his first mate and a powerful one, too.

He laughed and said "Wait" he walked to the side of the beach and opened his bag. He takes out a wine bottle and walks towards them.

He opened the bottle and took a sip first. He then passes it to Byrnndi and asks, "My crew is different from others. I want you to join me as a brother. To whom I can turn my back without any care. Are you willing to join me and become my brother?"

Byrnndi stood up and became serious. He took the bottle from Lucius' hand and said, "I am willing to." And drink from the bottle.

Byojack also stood up and took the bottle from Byrnndi's hand and said, "Me too." And drink a little from the bottle.

Lucius smiled and said, "Welcome to Viking." They both also smile.

Without the world knowing, a storm bigger than future Rock pirates could bring has just formed.

~Flashback end~

"Ho! Just one month, and you think you can win against me?" Lucius asks Byrnndi.

Byrnndi laughed and said, "I won't know until I try."

Byojack shouted out to his brother and said, "Stop embarrassing yourself every day, brother."

He was sitting underneath a tree and drinking coconut water and chilling. He wasn't suitable for the fight. But he had great ability in information gathering.

Lucius laughed, hearing Byojack. Byrnndi's face turned red hearing his brother. Lucius then said, "Okay, come, let's see how much you improve."

Byrnndi didn't wait and instantly used his fruit power to increase his speed and run towards Lucius.

He made a fist and attacked towards Lucius's face. Lucius tilted his head to the side and kicked his stomach as he increased the speed of the kick.

Byrnndi wanted to avoid it, but he was too close to avoid it. Lucius's kick made contact with Byrnndi's stomach and sent him flying back to where he came from.

*cough* *cough* "Captain, why did you use so much force? Do you want to kill me?" Byrnndi complained as he coughed out all the dust he had just eaten.

Byojack rolled his eyes, hearing his brother, and continued to drink his coconut.

Lucius laughed and said, "I told you to use your head when you attack. Don't just use muscles. With the right technique, someone weaker can win against someone stronger."

Byrnndi rubbed the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. Because of his devil fruit power, he didn't face any challenges until now.

But his captain was also fast like him.

Lucius then asks, "How is your target practice going?" Byrnndi stood up and said, "It's a lot better than before."

Lucius nodded and said, "Your fruit is made for gunfighting. You can become an unstoppable force if you master using guns and fruit power together."

Lucius imagines him firing a bullet faster than anyone could react or a cannonball like a bullet.

The kinetic energy behind the speed or mass would be so much that every one of his attacks would be like a meteor hitting on Earth.

Lucius then said "Okay let's continue to spar. Your hand-to-hand combat needs a lot more practice. And stop using the fruit power until I tell you to use it again."

Byrnndi nodded his head and again started to spar with Lucius.

Byojack looked at his brother and their captain's spar or more like his captain beating the hell out of his brother and continued to drink.

Lucius already told him that he would buy him communication snails so that he could increase his proficiency with them.

Lucius also finds out that he is like a hacker from Earth. He could use snails and hack into marine communications and give them updated information about everything.

His skill would be very useful in their journey ahead.
