2 Chapter 2- life in Rick verse 100 years after canon

I was born year 2121 on the earth like planet around proxima centauri ( the closest star to earths solar system ) now called New Gaia by its main human inhabitants in the capital city of New New york.

I was named Coeus after the Greek titan of curiosity and intelligence due to my unbridled curiosity since an early age and because of the on going fad of the modern people naming their kids after ancient deities.

To be fair I was indeed a curious little boy. I mean Who wouldn't be curious when they are thrust into a new world after all.

As you may have already guessed I have recollection of my previous life on the planet called earth, living in the 21st century in a different universe as a different person where my current reality was considered fiction.

I don't know how I still remember, perhaps it was because of my photographic memory in my past life or perhaps divine intervention by a god or something but I still do remember so that was all that mattered to me.

I still remember the day I read about 'Rick Sanchez the greatest mind ' in a history book when I was about 6 years old .

At first I thought it was a joke but to learn it was true and it was the actual history of the world I was in, left me baffled and questioning my sanity.

After some time though I gradually came to accept my new reality as real ,well not some satire comedic TV show. Fortunately I was a causal fan of the show in my previous life.

So I knew a bit about the universe, and that left me terrified . I was too powerless in such an universe where weird Aliens roamed around with their unknown technology and powers, where apocalyptic events happens on a daily basis and where a mad man goes sorry went around simultaneously saving and destroying the galaxy with his grandson in a UFO shaped spaceship.

I was scared you know and I didn't really know what to expect.

After all Human Society has changed so much compared to what I once knew hundred years ago in a different reality. For one thing humans are immortal now.

Technically.

When some one grows older or they become sick or for whatever reason they decide they can now design and make their own clones now. After growing the clone to a suitable age or whichever age they prefer using cloning technology, they can then transfer their consciousness to the clone and live again in a new body.

This practice has become so frequent that gender as well as racial identity has become a meaningless arbitrary concept now.

You can wake up one morning a beautiful woman of any desent and then go to sleep a handsome man . People changed their bodies as they changed their clothes these days, according to their mood.

However this was not the only change that society had gone through .

The most significant change I felt for me was the changes in human reproduction process that have occurred through out the century. Because the processes, from the conception to birth of a child being done artificially, sexual intercourse for reproduction has become pointless throughout the years. Love at least romantic love that I knew once before has become non - existent in modern society.

However a good thing that came from artificially reproducing humans was the advantage of having designer genes . Nowadays most humans have unusual looks that were quite uncommon a hundred years ago . Though people looked very pretty many have decided to add certain features to their bodies.

A Friend of mine had added deer antlers to his head on one occasion, it was weird. Another friend added cat ears on her head . However the most common change most people adopted though was sporting different coloured hair and eyes than people a hundred years ago.

I for one have long dark blue hair with rare green strikes mixed in them with green and blue heterochromic eyes to match my hair. I decided on this particular mix after trying out my options and liking this look the best.

Before you ask, I did try my hand at being a woman at one point but after experiencing this one and my previous life most of it as a man I was more comfortable being a guy . Who knows though in the future I might change my mind.

Like all my peers I was born with what scientist these days call ' perfect genes' . Because of these perfect genes, in addition to having beautiful looks my cognitive and Athletic abilities were significantly improved compared to my last life . My body's capabilities were further enhanced when I was age 15 when I joined the military.

In my desperation for peace of mind after finding out where I was, I searched for anything that could help me relieve my anxiety of the situation I was currently in. At first I wanted to use Ricks signature portal technology to escape this terrible reality in its entirety but I later found out that day Ricks most dangerous inventions were being horded by earth alliance military defence force . I was devastated by this news at first but whoever says you get everything handed to you in life.

So to get power and safety, I like any other reasonable person joined the military at age 15 .Like all the recruits who joined the earth military after WW3, I also got a super soldier serum.

This serum which was very similar to captain America's serum in the marvel movies btw was developed during world war 3 and has been used by military personnel ever since. Every newly recruited soldier gets a dose after joining the military in service to defend the human alliance, so when I obviously joined the military the first chance I got i was effectively turned into a super human by this universes own version of super soldier serum. This serum however was without the personality altering side effects of the captain America serum version.

The effects of the serum were as followed. My already good physical capabilities magnified. My already significant cognitive abilities became so much better.

I had better perceptions now , I could process information quicker in general and also I had an improved version of my photographic memory to the point I can recall minute details and sensations I had in my previous life. My senses improved very far beyond a normal human it could be described beast like. Along with this came an enhanced agility , strength and stamina .

I was glad I was a super human now but this universe wasn't safe for even super humans like myself.
