2 chapter2:Death comes in many shapes P2

In the year 2027, on a dark road, the clock struck 3:00 PM.

Echoing through the air were the terrified screams of a young man, merely 22 years old. At his age, most people would be heading to a bar, ready to have a good time. Unfortunately, our protagonist found himself trapped in a dead-end situation. How did he end up here? Let's rewind a few minutes and find out.

Gasping for breath, he murmured amidst his panting, "I... I may have overlooked something crucial... an important detail."

"I never anticipated my stamina would be this abysmal. Could it be the chain smoking? No, there must be another reason," he contemplated.

"Regardless, that monstrous creature is closing in on me. I must find a way to distract it..."

And just as he voiced his thoughts...

"A deafening screech pierced the air!"

"Well, speak of the devil," he mumbled under his breath.

"Wait! There's an alleyway nearby. If I can reach it, I'll be able to cut my running distance in half, getting to safety much faster," he realized.

Without warning, a sharp object whizzed past him, narrowly missing his head and striking a nearby streetlight with a resounding clang.

"Damn it! That was too close! No time to overthink. I must make a beeline for the alleyway. The confined space will limit the monster's attack range," he resolved with determination.

Desperate to divert the creature's attention, he hurled a trashcan in its direction. However, rather than deterring the monster, it only fueled its rage. Letting out a thunderous roar, the creature started slashing wildly at Noah.

"Almost there," Noah encouraged himself, catching sight of the alleyway entrance just seconds away. It was his ticket to the nearby gas station and safety.

With each swing of the monster's claws, Noah sprinted at full speed, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Almost there!"

Finally, he reached the entrance of the alleyway, breathing a sigh of relief. But his relief was short-lived as he noticed something peculiar.

"What in the world?"

To his dismay, he found himself facing a dead end.

"Oh no!"

Before he could react, the monster lunged at him, its claws slashing his upper arm deeply.

"AHHHHHHHH!"

Noah cried out in agonizing pain, clutching his wounded arm tightly. With his back against the wall, he desperately scanned the surroundings for any means of survival.

"This can't be happening! I need something, anything to help me escape," Noah muttered, trying to keep panic at bay.

And then, amidst the chaos, he spotted a glimmer of hope—a fire escape ladder. If he could reach it, there might be a chance to evade the monster and tend to his wound.

With newfound determination, Noah seized the opportunity. As the monster charged towards him, he swiftly evaded its grasp, causing it to crash into the wall with a resounding thud.

"Yes! This is my chance!" Noah exclaimed, his voice filled with a mixture of relief and determination.

Without wasting a second, he raced towards the fire escape, deftly unlocking it, and began ascending the ladder with urgency.

The enraged monster roared in frustration, slashing at the fire escape with futile rage. But Noah had already made it to the second-floor window, propelling himself through it and into potential safety.

Noah found himself in a kitchen, frantically searching for alcohol to disinfect his injury.

"I need to find some alcohol... Maybe in the cabinets," he muttered.

Rummaging through the cabinets, Noah eventually discovered a bottle in the upper right one.

"Got it! Now I just need to..."

"KRERREEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!" A bone-chilling roar echoed from outside the window.

"No, give me a break!" Noah exclaimed.

Hastily pouring alcohol on his arm, he hurriedly left the kitchen, only to find himself in the living room. He rushed to the window, hoping to spot another fire escape ladder, but none was in sight.

"Skreeeeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaark!" The monster's roar reverberated through the living room.

"Damn it! It's either the monster or falling," Noah contemplated.

"Forget it! It's time to jump," he resolved.

Before he could leap, the bedroom door swung open, and the monster charged towards him.

"To hell with that!"

Noah leaped out of the second-floor window, landing on a car that broke his fall.

"God damn it! Everything hurts," Noah cursed, feeling the pain throughout his body.

From the apartment, he could hear the monster's angry roar, furious that its prey had eluded it once again.

"I better start running before it follows me. The gas station should be in sight soon," Noah said, gritting his teeth against the pain.

Noah pushed his battered body to run as fast as he could. In the distance, he heard the angry roar and the sound of something crashing into the concrete street.

"For the love of God, couldn't you have waited a few more minutes?" he grumbled.

The monster rose to its full height, assumed a running stance, and dashed towards Noah, roaring and slashing wildly.

"Almost there... Just a little bit more," Noah gasped, panting heavily.

After what felt like an eternity of running, Noah sighed in relief. "Thank goodness it exists in this damn copy."

"But I can't relax just yet; the monster will be here any second," he reminded himself.

"Alright, let's grab the gas pipe and take down that ugly monster."

A distant roar could be heard, and the heavy but fast footsteps of the monster approached Noah.

Taking a deep breath, Noah gripped the gas pipe in one hand and his lighter in the other.

"COME AND GET SOME, YOU UGLY MONSTER!"

Enraged by Noah's taunts, the monster intensified its approach, attempting to strike him with its claws. But Noah swiftly ducked, allowing the attack to miss.

Seizing the opportunity, he shoved the gas pipe into the monster's roaring mouth and began pumping, simultaneously flicking the lighter.

"GET F*CKED, YOU STUPID MONSTER!"

To his dismay, the lighter failed to produce a flame.

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Noah exclaimed, filled with anger and panic.

In retaliation, the monster slashed at the arm holding the lighter, inflicting a deep wound.

'Slice!'

'Thud!'

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Noah howled in pain.

Before the monster could strike again, Noah struck it in the face with the gas pipe, causing it to stagger. Taking advantage of the momentary disorientation, he splashed the monster with gasoline, prompting it to roar in anger and resume its attack.

However, Noah's battered body could no longer endure the onslaught. He collapsed to the ground, narrowly escaping the monster's slashing claws. Instead, the monster struck the gas pump, causing gasoline to spill out.

While the monster was momentarily stunned, Noah crawled towards the lighter, praying fervently for it to work this time.

"Just a bit more... I refuse to die like this. I'll take this damn monster with me if I have to," Noah thought, determination burning within him.

Noah reached the lighter just in time, as the monster regained its composure and turned towards him.

Noah ignited the lighter.

"Clink."

The flame sizzled into life.

"I'll see you in hell, you ugly monster," Noah declared, his voice laced with hatred.

With all his strength, he threw the lighter at the monster.

"Kaboooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!"

Noah could hear the monster's dying cry as his vision began to fade.

"Serves you right," he chuckled weakly before succumbing to unconsciousness.

Year 2027, April 4th, 3:15 PM, on the side of the road near a gas station, the scene was filled with flashing police and ambulance lights. Paramedics rushed to the ambulance, carrying a stretcher.

On the stretcher lay a partially charred body, with one arm missing and injuries all over. Miraculously, the body still clung to a thread of life, though it was fading fast.

Faint, shallow breaths escaped Noah's lips.

"Ah, finally, it ends. No more suffering, no more pain," he whispered.

"I wish that in any future life, I'll be strong enough to live freely," he mused, a hint of humor in his voice. "Who knows, maybe I'll even become a Saiyan."

In an inexplicable twist, a voice spoke in a divine language, "Your wish has been granted."

Noah chuckled weakly. "I must be going crazy," he thought, before his consciousness slipped away.

The sound of a steady, continuous beep filled the air.

Year 2027, April 4th, time of death: 3:18 PM.
