Chapter 38 : Foreshadowing
"I WILL BREAK YOUR SPINE IN TWO!!" Carol yelled in anger while flying around and throwing wild punches toward Noah. Her chin bore a deep red fist mark, fresh and vivid to anyone to see.
Her eyes blazed with wrath, determined to pummel Noah's arrogant face into the ground. Meanwhile, Noah skillfully blocked every attack, using his legs to deflect her punches while folding his arms in front of his chest.
"Oww, looks like the little toddler is throwing a hissy fit because she got tricked. How cute," Noah taunted.
"Does stupidity run in your family, by the way? Because, hot damn," he continued, mocking Carol's actions. "What the hell were you even thinking? Htrae? That's Earth spelled backward, you dumb brainless bimbo."
"Argh! Shut your damned face!" Carol cursed angrily, her fists infused with even more power as she launched a fiery barrage of punches at Noah.
However, Noah remained unfazed, effortlessly blocking each punch with his legs while smugly staring at her. Carol had never experienced such humiliation before.
Since gaining her powers, her fights had always been one-sided. She was always the one delivering the beating, and no one had ever treated her the way Noah was treating her now.
She was an unstoppable force of cosmic energy. How was it possible that she couldn't even touch the man in front of her? Carol felt like she was facing an untouchable titan, unable to land a hit.
She was overwhelmed with frustration, irritation, and, above all, rage.
Carol abruptly stopped her punches and unleashed a massive fire beam at point-blank range towards Noah. She was sure this attack would hit him. However, when the beam was just an inch away from Noah's face, he disappeared into thin air.
Before Carol could register what had happened, a powerful axe kick struck her shoulder, sending her hurtling towards the ground like a comet. The impact created shockwaves that rippled throughout Nevada, leaving behind a massive crater.
Noah descended slowly, landing at the edge of the crater. As his feet touched the ground, a burst of energy erupted from within the deep crater. Carol, as if teleported, suddenly appeared in front of Noah, her fiery fist a mere inch away from his nose.
With remarkable anticipation, Noah effortlessly dodged Carol's lightning-fast strike by slightly leaning his upper body backward. Seeing her punch miss its mark, Carol immediately slammed her elbow into Noah's neck, aiming to inflict as much damage as possible.
But unexpectedly, Noah's tail, which had been wrapped around his waist like a belt, moved like a snake, swiftly grabbing Carol's arm and stopping it from moving further.
With his body bending backward like a character from Jojo, Noah exerted power into his legs and upper body, and with a swift motion, he headbutted Carol in the face.
(Swoosh)
(Booom)
Carol was sent flying several kilometers into the heart of the desert, her hands digging into the ground as she desperately tried to slow herself from flying away. But despite her efforts, she left behind two long lines in the ground, evidence of the impact.
Covered in dirt and dust, with her long blond hair obscuring her face, Carol slowly stood up. Between the strands of hair, two crimson eyes blazed with anger and humiliation. She leaped into the air, closing the distance between her and Noah in an instant.
Carol stood directly in front of Noah, glaring up at him and stabbing her finger into his chest. She spoke with a mixture of anger and frustration, demanding answers.
"You think this a joke, huh? Or is this some kind of sick fetish you like to do? "
"Hmmmm?" Noah slightly moved his head to the side with questioning look on his face and a small grin.
"Don't act dumb you asshole!! Other then the first attack that sent me flying, none of your other strikes ever hit me!!"
Upon Noah's grin widened, displaying the utmost savagery. "Ho hoo, it seems like you aren't completely useless after all."
Carol's was true—every time Noah had been on the verge of landing a hit, he stopped just inches away, unleashing a powerful blast of air pressure that sent her flying.
He never truly damaged her, Noah just stood there and just defended effortlessly against her attacks!!
When they started fight she thought this guy just toying around with her.
But now that she saw this Carol understood something that made her fume with anger.
This guy doesn't even see her as an opponent!!
That why stood in front of him demanding an answer.
Why isn't he attacking her?
Why is he only defending?
Why...
"Why aren't you taking this seriously?" Carol growled, gritting her teeth in anger.
"I do what i do to simply break you arrogance " Noah declared with a tone that could make the dead feel the chill in their bones.
"What?" Carol exclaimed
"Sorry, I guess I have to explain it further. Since the first time I set foot on this Earth, hundreds of mortals have come to challenge me. From wannabe heroes to devil worshippers and even some mobsters."
"All of these people, including you, had one thing in common. They were arrogant."
"And why wouldn't they? Each one had reveled in their unchallenged existence until I shattered their illusions. So, i wouldn't blame them for possessing an arrogance that matched their egos."
"After all, none of them truly comprehended the force they were up against. It was only through the might of my power that their arrogance crumbled, reduced to mere dust in the face of my might."
"But you, you saw it, didn't you ?"
"You caught a glimpse of my true abilities when first you entered the restaurant. Yet, in your arrogance, you still charged forth, guided by the foolish belief that you could handle me, even if what you witnessed wasn't an illusion."
Noah's gaze bore into Carol, his eyes gleaming with a chilling intent as he continued
"Don't get too cocky, human! I don't know where you found the courage to face me after what you saw, but rest assured, I will shatter your arrogant spirit piece by piece."
You will remember me as your worst nightmare, haunting your every waking moment. You will wake up in your bed, covered in cold sweat, remembering today's fight. That, I promise you."
Noah's menacing words triggered a startling transformation. His eyes turned wild, and his muscles swelled with power. A sense of chaos and destruction emanated from him, creating an overwhelming aura.
Sensing the Dangerous primal aura, the remaining animals that were still around fled in fear. Their instincts kicked in, urging them to escape from the heart of the desert, where a monstrous presence defied all comprehension.
Now these are responses of brainless animals who don't know better other than eat and sleep.
Yet, defying her own human intellect, Carol reacted in an idiotic manner.
She took a deep breath, leaned forward, and forcefully spat a mouthful of saliva into Noah face.
"Bring it on you stupid Ape." she said, while jumping back to make some distance between both of them and taking a fighting stance.
In her mind she was fully confidant in beating the man in front of her, after all she didn't even use her full power yet!
She is unbeatable!!
She is Captain marvel!!!
She will bea....
But then, as if time itself had slowed to a crawl, Carol witnessed Noah materialize in front of her, his eyes ablaze with a crimson hue. With a swift and devastating motion, he pulled back back his fist and delivered a bone-crushing blow straight into her abdomen.
He punched her so hard in fact that one could see the imprint of his fist on the other side of her body
Agony seared through her as she felt her organs and muscles rupture then she heard the sickening sound of her spine snapping in half like a fragile sugar cone.
The next thing she knew, she was unable to move and laying on the scorching ground of the Nevada desert while suffering the most agonizing pain she ever experienced in her life.
And standing over her, one could see Noah looking down at her with face covered in shadows, and eyes full of killing intent.
