Chapter 22. Slime Rain

Ten minutes after the urgent quest broadcast.

The Adventurer's Guild was full of adventurers in no time. In the bustling 

guild, many adventurers, including myself, are looking out the window.

The scene outside the window was...

"Kyukyu!" 

"Whew!" 

"Kyukyu!"

A mysterious phenomenon was occurring, with a large amount of slime falling from the sky. Slime rain is a weather phenomenon in which slime rains down like water.

"What does this mean?"

I don't understand how much slime affects the weather, so I can't help but ask Lucia next to me.

"I've explained before that slimes are magical creatures born from puddles of water or something, right? A high concentration of magical power accumulated in the rain clouds, and the rain itself turned into slime. It's a common extreme weather here."

"It's ridiculous."

Maybe it has something to do with what Lucia and Noelle said earlier, that I'm useful just by being here.

Just as I was about to get more details from Lucia, the voice of a guild official echoed in the Adventurer's Guild.

"Thank you, Akira, for joining us! The quest is to exterminate and repel the slimes that fall on the town with Slime Rain. The order rank does not matter, so please join as many adventurers as possible! The reward is 5,000 mina per person. From there, you'll get an additional reward of 2,000 mina per slime!"

5,000 minas just to join. And 2,000 mina per slime is a pretty good deal.

After all, with slime raining down, if you are skilled, you can defeat 10 or 20, maybe even more than 100 slimes.

"I'm going to kill the slime!" 

"I'm going to make about a million minas!"

The excitement of the female adventurers increased with this good deal, and they were all shouting triumphantly. We must make money by killing slimes so that we don't lose to them.

"Alright, Lucia, Noelle, let's come up with a plan to kill as many slimes as possible!"

Just when I was getting excited.

"Is Akira here?!"

For some reason, I heard a guild staff member calling for me.

"What? Me?"

There are so many adventurers here, and I don't know why I'm being singled out.

I looked at Lucia and Noelle in bewilderment, and they nodded in agreement.

 "Akira's role is finally revealed!"
