An Act of Generosity

Is sex enough? Can it evolve into love, or will a generous act return to kick Rob where it hurts? Robert may be gay, but he's a responsible adult and a dedicated businessman. Chapter 21

Lee cut those thoughts dead. He’d need that bed when Rob found out what troubled him and kicked him out.

“I’m fine, just tired.”

Rob nodded. “Okay. Because you look worried lately, and if there’s something you need to talk about, you know that you can talk to me, right?”

Great, so Rob noticed. Wear his heart on his sleeve, or what? “I know I can…” Lee swallowed, his throat giving a little click as he did. “I know I can be…honest with you.”

“Okay then.” Rob went back to checking the alarm clock, but not before pausing and sending what looked like a calculating gaze Lee’s way.

Lee lay down, but he couldn’t get to sleep. He lay for some time before he heard Rob sigh and felt the man reach over him, pulling him into an embrace. Not knowing why, for a second Lee resisted, before he relaxed, allowing Rob to offer him comfort. Rob planted a kiss on the side of his forehead, and Lee at last closed his eyes.
