The Accidental Encounter Pt.1

<Asher >

I walked towards the girl, who seemed to have no plans of letting this slide any moment soon. When I reached near them, the girl turned towards me and for the first time in a while, I felt a tingle in my chest. I couldn't help but admire her.

'She's beautiful' was the only thought that came to my mind the moment I saw the girl up close. Her wet dark hair with a few strands clung to her face, her angelic features, and her hazel-green eyes were mesmerizing. But soon, all the admiration went down the drain when another thought crossed my mind and that was how my father will kick my ass if I don't arrive at this very moment.

"Are you the boss?" she spoke sternly as she examined me with her contempt gaze. I coughed, getting a little self-conscious. I regained my composure in a second before speaking,

"Pardon us for our mistake but you are overreacting and are consuming too much of our time, Miss" I spoke without giving it a second thought as the girl seemed bewildered by my statement. Strange.

"E-Excuse me, What?" she asked in a state of shock.

"I said, you are overreacting" I again spoke. Maybe she didn't hear before? I looked at Logan and his expression spoke as if I had added oil to the fire and he was cursing the day he agreed to be my secretary. Why did I decipher it so easily?

"H-He doesn't m-mean it-" Logan said but I cut him off, "Oh no, I do actually mean it. We are already late and now she's just making everything worse" to which the girl's mouth dropped. I mean, it might be my last day on earth and she is only increasing the chances of it.

"You are not helping!!" Logan suddenly exclaimed, startling me, and turned towards the girl who seemed in a state of shock, "H-He really doesn't mean what you are thinking. You're probably taking it the wrong way" Logan tried to explain but it seemed to be going in vain. I don't understand what is he trying so hard to explain.

I had enough now, "Listen, here" I pulled out a bundle of money from my coat pocket that I always carry in case of emergencies as such and placed it on the girl's hand, "Take this as compensation for your dress, you can dry clean it or you can buy the dry cleaning shop and do it by yourself or just buy new clothes. Do whatever you want, okay? Now, excuse us" and with that, I turned to leave, thinking the matter is solved.

After a few steps, I heard the girl, "This crazy man-" but ignored it and continued to walk when suddenly a force pulled me back, causing me to turn around. It was the girl. She seemed angry.

She held my hand out and slammed the money back in my hand as I looked at her confusingly, "I don't need your stupid money or your useless apology. Keep your damn money. And you know what?" She looked towards the coffee in her hand, "My coffee is already ruined so..."

She looked at me and for some reason, I had a bad feeling. Without wasting any other second, she opened the lid and emptied the whole coffee on me. The next thing I knew, my suit was ruined, with a huge coffee stain over my beige suit jacket and waistcoat.

"Now it's equal," I heard her say as I slowly looked up, in a state of shock. She turned around and her wet hair struck me right at my face, causing me to stumble back but I got held by Logan. That felt as if I was struck by knives. She walked away from there while I was still processing what happened. By the moment I regained consciousness, she had stopped a cab.

"Did she just?...Is that woman crazy?" I exclaimed when I saw that girl getting into the cab. She got in the cab and drove away, leaving me thunderstruck. I turned to look at Logan with my staggered expression maintained, only to find him holding in his laughter and amusement.

He looked at me and soon his smile faded. He cleared his throat, "So...Should we head to the dinner first or go shopping?" Logan asked as I looked at him in disbelief.

"That stupid jerk. What does he think of himself" I mumbled while taking off my shoes as I recalled the incident I just encountered, "I'm home!" I announced before entering. I was heading straight towards my room but stopped in my tracks when I saw two humans totally invested in playing Jenga.

"What are they doing?" I asked myself, "I'm home~," I again said. Both Hernan and Abigail hummed in response, earning a scoff from me. What is this? I encountered such a horrible accident and look at them, not even sparing me a glance.

"-cough cough-" I fake coughed, attempting to gather their attention, only to earn no response, "....-cough cough-...", I again coughed, still earning no response.

"..."

After a moment of silence, I fake coughed dramatically and as a result, I ended up coughing for real.

"Drink water, Aurora," Abigail said as she carefully took out a Jenga piece, placing it on the top as I satisfied smile formed on her face.

"Wha-...Hey!" I finally had enough, "What is this behavior?! Your sister comes home after encountering a terrible accident and this is what she gets? Not even a proper greeting? You both are getting really out of hand! This behavior is not allowed! Not in this house at least" I exploded and said everything in one breath, fully aware that both were innocent but I couldn't help it and my emotions took the best of me. Both the kids were startled by the sudden outburst.

"C-Calm down, Rora," Hernan said, trying to calm me down who was literally fuming. "Y-Yeah, calm...wait? Accident?" Abigail realized and soon her gaze shot to me as she took in my appearance which was not very good. She jumped from her seat and ran towards me.

"What happened? Are you okay? Why do you look like this? Are hurt anywhere? Let's go to the hospital!" Abigail panicked, not giving me any chance to speak.

"Lis- wait! Abigail~!" I struggled to speak whereas Abigail started to drag me and on the other hand, Hernan was dumbfounded, "Abigail! Stop! Listen to m-" I stopped mid-sentence, "You're crying?", I questioned and upon hearing me, Hernan also rushed towards us.

"Why are you crying? Abi~" I engulfed Abigail in a hug, "I'm okay" I whispered and looked towards a worried Hernan. I gestured to him that it was okay but it was really to no avail.

"We have already lost our parents -sniffle- I don't want to lose you as well" and Abigail finally broke down, leaving me helpless. I was careless. I could've been more careful.

"I'm not going anywhere, okay? Calm down" I patted Abigail's back. "Abigail~ Honey," Hernan said as he held her hand and we stayed in the same position.

After a while, Abigail finally calmed down and I was finally able to explain why I was in this state.

"...And that jerk, threw money at my face! And then said 'Get some new clothes since I can clearly see that you need them'" I exaggerated and said the words he clearly didn't say but that is what my brain processed, "But I'm also me, I threw it back at his face and said I don't need your filthy money and then, I left from there, flipping my hair in style" I acted out the hair flip.

"Woah~ Rora" Hernan clapped, obviously admiring my courage. "Amazing, Sis! You must have looked so cool!" Abigail exclaimed as I had a smug look on my face.

"Of course~" I again flipped my still damp hair, "Oh? I forgot to tell you!" I suddenly remembered. "What?" both Abigail and Hernan got confused. I smiled mischievously.

"I..." I said, creating a dramatic ground as the younger ones listened attentively, "...Leave it" I got up as the younger ones whined, making me laugh. It is always fun to tease them.

"It's nothing important. I just got the job" I said casually. "Oh~ You got the jo-..." Hernan stopped in mid-sentence as it seemed as if my words again repeated in his head.

"..."

"WHAT?!"

Both of them shouted at the same time, startling the heck out of me. "You got the job?!" Abigail asked excitedly as she held me from either side of my arms to which I nodded with a big smile.

"Ah? Ahh!!!!" Abigail squealed. "She got the job!!" she turned towards Hernan, "She got the job!" Hernan also exclaimed.

"She got the job! She got the job! She got the job!" both started to sing and dance in circles whereas I was just smiling like an idiot, watching them all happy.

"Okay! Okay! We'll celebrate soon. I haven't even changed yet. Let me clean up. it's almost nine" I said, and upon hearing that Hernan turned into a stone, "What did you say?" he asked.

"That I'll go clean up?" I got confused.

"No, after that!"

"It's almost nine?"

"I'm dead. I have to go!" Hernan turned to Abigail as she also acted as if she remembered something, "Oh my God! How can you forget this?! Let's go!" And with that Hernan leaped towards the door, followed by Abigail.

"Wait a second. What's going on? Where are you going?" I asked, following the younger ones to the gate. Abigail looked at me, "Jungsoo has a plan with his family and this idiot is late" she said as I just shook her head.

"How careless," I spoke. Hernan rolled his eyes, "You're right! So careless! I'll be leaving then! Bye!!!" and with that, he ran out of the house.

"Be careful on your way!!" Both me and Abigail yelled as we turned towards each other before bursting into laughter.

"You are as worried about him as I am," Abigail said. I shrugged,  "Can't help it. He is also like a little brother to me. I'll go freshen up and then we'll have dinner" I said and kissed Abigail's forehead as she smiled and nodded.
