37 Inject Helen with CH-24.

Ava chuckled and replied, "Now, that should be enough to prove that it's safe."

John nodded and asked, "So when can we inject Helen with it?"

Ava glanced at her watch and remarked, "After 25 minutes, as normal humans, we need high energy when serum is injected."

John scanned Ava from top to bottom and cautiously asked, "You're not a normal human... wait... sorry for asking." He quickly revised his sentence, recalling Ava's ability to crush the revolver with her bare hands.

Interrupting them, Helen pointed at John and Ava, exclaiming, "You two, stop ignoring me! John, you're not even considering my opinion."

Attempting to persuade Helen to inject CH-24, John resorted to emotional blackmail. After 20 minutes of argument, Helen reluctantly agreed to inject CH-24. Meanwhile, Ava freshened up and changed her clothes.

Shortly after, the doorbell of the mansion rang. John reached for the gun, but Ava intervened, saying, "Calm down, it's just the delivery guy." She went outside, received the delivery, and paid the guy, tipping him an extra $50. With a smile, the delivery guy left.

Returning inside, Ava noticed John still holding the gun. She placed the carry bags on the table and requested, "John, could you please put that gun away?" John nodded and stowed the gun.

Ava retrieved three lunch boxes and three plastic cups filled with orange juice from the carry bag, saying, "Here's some salad and orange juice. Finish it, and then we can proceed with the injection procedure."

After finishing dinner, Ava retrieved tablets from another carry bag and addressed Helen, saying, "Helen, take these four tablets of spirulina, then one of amphetamine, followed by one tablet of thiamine, 2 minutes before I inject you with CH-24." Helen nodded while John held her hand.

Ava looked at them and remarked, "Well, we have to do this procedure in the bathroom. I don't want Helen to vomit in the hall of my new mansion."

John looked at Ava and asked, "What do you mean by vomit? Is it harmful for her?"

Ava shook her head and explained, "Not at all. It's safe. She will vomit because all the defective cells might be excreted from her body, or they will come out through her skin."

John nodded, while Helen appeared scared by Ava's description.

John, Ava, and Helen entered the bathroom. As Ava instructed, Helen took the tablets in order. After 2 minutes, Helen felt her blood pressure rising. At the same time, Ava injected Helen with CH-24 in her right arm. Purple veins appeared on Helen's right arm. After 5 minutes, Helen got up and started vomiting into the basin, breaking it with her uncontrollable strength.

Ava tapped John's shoulder, saying, "Take care of her; she might need some rest after going through that procedure. Afterward, meet me in the hall."

After bulking up, Helen felt mentally exhausted but physically empowered. John told Helen to rest. As Helen slept in the bed, John looked at her face and was shocked; she now looked like she was in her 20s.

John prayed that it's not a dream as he stroked Helen's hair. After confirming that Helen was asleep, he went downstairs and saw Ava playing a video game on her phone. He thought, "She looks like a normal person now," as he remembered the events from four hours ago, shaking his head.

Ava turned her head and looked at John, asking in a devilish tone, "So, John, are you ready to sell your soul to the devil?"

John's eyes widened. "What?"

Ava chuckled and said, "I always wanted to say that line."

John sighed and said, "You made me believe for a second that you're a devil."

Ava started laughing, "Hahaha... Really?"

John nodded and asked, "So, now that you have my loyalty, what's your next plan?"

Ava looked at John and said, "Before that, Mr. Wick, which serum would you like?"

As Ava took out the Extremis serum in her hand, she continued, "I personally suggest taking both, which will give you the strength to take revenge and the lifespan to spend with Helen."

John nodded at the word "revenge," as he was not going to leave the people alone who attacked his wife.

John said, "Then let's start."

Ava and John moved to another bathroom as the last one needed some cleaning. Ava took out tablets and gave them to John, saying, "Eight spirulina, then one amphetamine and one thiamine. After that, get inside that bathtub filled with cold water."

John looked at Ava and asked, "Why is my procedure different?"

Ava replied, "Well, John, your serum is also different."

John nodded and took the tablets, then got inside the cold water. As John's blood pressure increased due to the cold water and medicine, Ava injected John with the Extremis serum into his neck.

After that, red veins started appearing on John's body as he gritted his teeth, feeling the pain while the cold water started boiling. Ava was waiting for some more reaction, but she got none. After 15 minutes in the bathtub, John was breathing calmly as the pain had subsided, and 20% of the water had vaporized.

Ava looked at John hastily and said, "Wait, John."

But as John stood up and walked out of the bathtub, small cracks appeared on the tiles he stepped on. Ava looked at him and said, "You have nice control over your body for your first enhancement." After taking Extremis, Ava broke her whole bathroom.

John examined his own body and said, "It feels so unreal, as if this body isn't mine."

Ava took a sharp knife and slashed at John. He defended himself using his hand as Ava made a large cut on John's hand. John shouted, "What was that for?"

Ava put the knife back and said, "Look at your wound."

John looked at his wound and was shocked as it healed at a visible speed to the naked eye.

John turned to Ava and said, "But how?"

Ava then explained to John about regeneration power, stating that it grants the human body the ability to heal and regenerate from physical damages, deformities, and even psychological damages. This also includes the regrowth of severed limbs in a very short timespan.
