6 (Rewrite)Negotiation and action.

<General perspective>

[05/02/2001]

Inside the office in Washington, D.C., the President, Secretary of State, Director of the CIA, and the representative selected for the negotiation were gathered, all set up for the impending call with the anonymous figure.

"Only 5 minutes remaining until we receive the call," the President announced with a sense of urgency.

"Yes, Mr. President. According to him, the meeting will start at 2:00 PM," the Secretary of State affirmed.

"Do we have the capability to track his location from the call?" the President inquired.

The Secretary of State shook his head regretfully. "No, sir. We've exhausted all efforts, but we couldn't trace him."

"If this person is acting alone, perhaps we should consider recruiting him for the CIA," the Director of the CIA suggested.

"Before we proceed with anything, we need essential information about this person. We don't even know his name," the Secretary of State pointed out.

"Yes, that's the best course of action," the President agreed.

Before they could delve deeper into their discussion, the representative interjected, "Mr. President, the call has been connected."

With a serious expression, the President nodded. "Then let's begin."

The familiar voice of the anonymous figure echoed through the room, "So, Mr. President, did you understand why I asked you that question yesterday?"

"Yes, Mr. Anonymous, I understand," the President replied solemnly.

"And what is your decision on this matter?" the anonymous figure pressed.

The President leaned forward. "What are your demands?"

The anonymous figure chuckled. "Getting straight to the point, I like it. My demands are nothing much, just a request for help."

"What kind of help do you need?" the President inquired.

"I don't have a specific need at the moment, but my request is directed to the Director of the CIA," the anonymous figure revealed.

The CIA Director furrowed his brow. "What do you want from me?"

"Oh, you're with Mr. President! Well then, what I want is a one-time promise from you. A commitment that the CIA will help me unconditionally, as long as it's not immoral or unethical," the anonymous figure explained.

After a moment of consideration, the CIA Director responded, "Okay, you have my word. The CIA will assist you unconditionally, provided it remains within ethical boundaries."

"That was quick," the anonymous figure remarked with amusement. "Can I have a number to reach out for help?"

"Write down this number: ********890. It's my private line for situations like this," the CIA Director provided.

"Thank you. The remaining file has been transferred. You can check it. Goodbye, and remember, this won't be our last conversation," the anonymous figure concluded before abruptly ending the call.

The CIA Director attempted to stop him, but it was too late. The line had been disconnected.

The President sighed. "So, Operation Neptune Spear begins now."

Meanwhile, in the perspective of the protagonist:

I sighed in relief. That was close. Thank goodness they didn't find out about me being a child. I think I need to work on my acting skills.

Life continued as usual in the following days. It's amazing to have someone who cares for you.

After a week, the President announced the capture of a total of 9,056 terrorists, including their leader, along with the implementation of new regulations for airport security and protocols. It's a relief to know that events like 9/11 won't occur in this world.
