9 Chapter 9 Making Friends

After the knee was taken care of, Katie expressed her gratitude and prepared to leave with the dinner plate.

She has not adapted to campus life, and now she behaves sensitively and humbly.

Mike shook his head when he saw this, pushed his dinner plate to the opposite side, and said, "Katie, if you want, you can eat here."

"Really, that's great!" Katie responded loudly in surprise. She looked excited.

You must know that in the animal world, being willing to share territory is a sign of "acceptance" and "friendliness."

But soon, Katie realized that this was not an African jungle, and her previous reaction was too exaggerated.

In order not to scare the boy next to her, Katie calmed down and explained in as calm a tone as possible: "I mean, you are such a good person."

In the girl's perception, complimenting the other person is also an expression of "goodwill."

It's just that in Mike's "perception," being recognized as a "good guy" by a pretty girl is not a good thing.

However, because of the cultural differences between different places, Mike was able to understand what the other party meant.

"Thank you for your compliment. You are also a 'good person'," Mike replied seriously, then smiled, and with the girl's puzzled expression, he sat down opposite and continued to enjoy his lunch.

This move is called: defeat magic with magic.

Over there, although Katie didn't know why Mike praised herself as a "good person," she could already feel his friendly attitude.

This was the girl's first time having lunch with someone at school, and she felt wonderful about the experience.

Under the warm atmosphere, Katie felt that she should say something more.

She looked up at the handsome boy opposite and saw the rich food piled in front of the boy. She praised again: "You have such a big appetite~"

You must know that in the animal world, only the strongest animals can have rich food and a better appetite.

In the minds of girls, complimenting someone with a "big appetite" is a very high compliment.

It's just that in civilized society, "big eaters" are usually associated with "overeating."

Mike stopped his knife and fork, looked up at the girl opposite, and saw a sincere look on her face.

This girl doesn't seem to know that her sincere "praise" will cause trouble for others.

"I've been growing recently," Mike explained in a nonchalant manner, and gave the girl a special look before continuing to eat with his head down.

His subtext: Well said, but don't say it next time.

It's just that Mike overestimated the girl, and now Katie doesn't have the ability to read other people's eyes.

Sure enough, Katie saw that what she said got a response again. Her desire to communicate was suddenly aroused.

She secretly glanced at Mike's handsome face and continued to chat: "Which class are you in? Why haven't I seen you in school before?"

Mike didn't even raise his head this time. While grabbing the seafood risotto and talking casually, he said: "I'm an eleventh-grade transfer student. I just came to report today. It's normal that you haven't seen me before."

Mike ate the seafood risotto with relish. Not to mention, although this school cafeteria is a big pot of rice, the portions and taste control are okay.

At least this seafood risotto is to Mike's liking.

On the other side, Katie, who was talking about herself, didn't realize that Mike was perfunctory with her.

When she heard that Mike was actually a transfer student, she was a little happy at first, and then shared her experience with deep sympathy: "The life of a transfer student is very difficult, and the change of environment can make people uneasy. There are also new teachers and new classmates, all of whom need to adapt slowly over time..."

The girl with a strong desire to talk almost revealed her entire journey as a transfer student in the past two weeks.

At this time, Mike on the opposite side had already begun to enjoy his giant beef burger.

The taste of this burger is pretty good, especially the patty in the middle, which is thick and tender.

Over there, Katie, who was talking about herself, didn't need Mike to answer. She changed the topic and talked about the place where she once lived: "Did you know that Africa is the area with the most wild animals on earth? You can see elephants, rhinos, lions, hippopotamus, giraffes..."

Seeing the girl's energetic expression when she explained about Africa, Mike gnawed on an apple and nodded in agreement.

After introducing the animals, Katie talked about the local tribal culture in Africa.

In the end, the girl "showed off" with some pride: "My family has a collection of Zulu and Maasai handicrafts. They are souvenirs given to my mother by the locals. If you are interested in them, I can take them to you. Come and visit my house."

After some talking and communication, Katie regained the youthful vitality that a sixteen-year-old girl should have. Most of the awkward feeling she had before was gone.

Mike also finished his lunch at this time. He put away his plate and said, "It's very interesting. I will definitely go and see them next time I have a chance."

After that, Mike emptied his plate and left.

"Wait~" Seeing that the other party was about to leave, Katie subconsciously picked up the dinner plate and followed him.

However, she was just chatting and barely touched the food in front of her.

Growing up in Africa, she developed the habit of not wasting food.

So between leaving and not leaving, Katie finally chose to stay and finish the food.

Facing Mike's retreating back, Katie's eyes were a little wandering at first, then she smiled brightly and said, "We have been chatting for so long, and I still don't know your name?"

"My name is Mike Quinn, and I'm very happy to chat with you," Mike replied politely and prepared to leave.

Looking at Mike's back, Katie suddenly felt a little reluctant. She shouted again: "Mike~"

Mike, who had just taken a few steps, rolled his eyes: Why are you acting out an idol drama for me?

This time, Mike decided not to leave. He walked back calmly, put the plate on the table, looked at the girl, and said, "Tell me, is there anything else?"

Katie didn't notice Mike's impatience. She said coyly: "Well... we already know each other's names. So are we friends?"

"Of course~" Mike nodded and asked again: "Is there anything else?"

Mike confirmed. Answer: Katie, who has her first friend in school, is so happy now.

She covered her cheeks that were flushed with excitement and said, "No, Mike, we'll see you next time~"

At this time, Mike unexpectedly saw several light balls popping out of Katie's body.

[Memory attribute +3], [Logical thinking attribute +3], [Skin attribute +1]...

The other party had been talking to each other for so long, but not a single light group was produced. As a result, just because she agreed to be friends with her, she generously contributed the light group.

Mike: This girl deserves a deep friendship.

After attracting

the light ball into his hand, Mike showed a smile and said: "Okay, see you next time~" ...

At the same time, following the guidance of Carnegie's book "How to Win Friends and Influence People," he failed to hand over My friend's little Sheldon was returning books to the library.

It happened that here he met Dan, a Vietnamese classmate who also had no friends.

Both of them liked to explore the universe and rockets, so they hit it off and became each other's first friends.

Afterwards, the two of them enjoyed their lunch together in the library.
