Transformation Day

"Today is transformation day; there are certain things you need to know before that. First, everyone has an ultimate transformation that is often not an all-animal form. This state greatly increases power. There are also alternate forms that you can turn into depending on your situation or aim. For example, members of the Radio Unit of the Tracking Division can turn into cubs or other form of youngsters to get through enemy security easier. The alternate forms are much faster and easier to transform into. Your first lesson, people, would be alternate transformations."

Instructor Noel was speaking a group of trainees of which Heat was part. She was a slim, gorgeous, youthful lady with bright green eyes. She had long blonde hair and was significantly taller than Heat. She wore a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie while holding a notepad and a pen.

Heat watched as everyone but he began to separate into groups.

"Heat Fury, hello once again."

She approached him.

"Again?"

"Yes, I'm Noel. We met yesterday to check your spirit energy growth."

"Oh, right, that was you. Hi."

Noel smirked, seemingly amused at his confusion.

"Your training is separate. You will be training with Kisuke, go that way."

She pointed him in a direction away from the others.

Heat smirked. "Hmm, respect for the higher life form I see."

"Let us not draw conclusions, shall we?"

Heat looked at the speaker; that was his tutor. He lifted his head to see the person's face. He looked like a far-east Asian in his latter thirties with a scar on both sides of his neck. Just like Shishio, and unlike every other person he had seen here, this man was dressed as a white-collar worker. He wore a black long-sleeved shirt with a pair of black trousers.

"Did you ever play basketball?"

"I do not entertain myself with silly human activities."

"How did you get those scars?"

"They were given by something called the White Death. Maybe someday you will meet it too. You were brought here because, you are supposed to master this technique faster than anyone else. Your power-"

"Yeah, is very necessary to end his war early and once you start school again, we wouldn't be able to meet you a lot. Come on, everyone says that."

"Actually, I wanted to say your power is intriguing because you learn very fast and your spa's growth is unexpected."

"Oh, okay then, hehe…my bad."

"Feel free to feel stupid; it's the human in you breaking free. My name is Hatake Kisuke, your new and to some extent, private teacher. I believe you have been briefed on the types of transformations and are ready to begin, because I do not do theory – I also do not tolerate sheer stupidity."

Heat stared at him carefully but kept silent.

"Transformation is one of the easiest techniques used by amen. If you cannot transform, you are not an amen. I expect you to master the basics by the end of today."

Heat did not even bother saying anything, whether an objection or agreement. He decided to simply go along. He followed Kisuke into a room.

"Where is Heat?" Supido asked Aquila.

She was sitting on the floor in a small, empty room with her legs crossed and an eagle perched on her right shoulder. She did not respond to Supido's question.

"Animal synchronization eh? She's supposed to have been done with that already."

Supido left the room and went to the training grounds. He looked around and walked to Noel.

"Noel, where is Heat? Wasn't he supposed to learn transformation with you?" he asked.

"He's with Kisuke, they are accelerating his training. What're you doing out of your quarters?"

"It's urgent. Are you guys that desperate to make him powerful early?"

"More importantly, I heard your last mission was a success. Congratulations."

"Your sister was not supposed to mention it—it's top secret." Heat sighed. "Thanks anyway."

Supido walked away from the training grounds.

He walked towards a room with a black door and no handle. Supido placed a finger on the door; an explosive force blasted from it and forced the door open. When he entered, he heard a loud hissing; its source was a glittering, black surface reflecting light in the room. It had a white flame symbol and scales that seemed to be in continuous up and down motion.

Supido took a step forward. "Heat."

The creature rapidly turned and grew several inches, looking Supido in the eye. He could see his reflection clearly in its red eyes. Supido smirked. He tapped a red diamond shape between the snake's eyes; a strong force blasted from his fingers and flew it across the room.

"In just a couple of days, that's fairly impressive."

Heat transformed back.

"Ouch."

He rose to his feet. "Let's go a couple of rounds."

"Yeah…no. You're still far away from my level, and I mean Earth-moon kinda far."

Supido pulled a chair and sat on it.

"Remember your friend Zainab? Walk to the park, heterochromia half Jewish girl?"

"Yes – wait, how do you know all that?"

"She's in danger."
