Planning a Rescue

Meanwhile, far away from the events that had just occurred, Supido was seated in a meditation pose, while Ursus and Aquila were studying. Supido was on the floor, Ursus was sitting at a desk and Aquila was lying down on a bed. They were in a small wooden structure where they usually go to study after training. No one aside them knew of the location, or at least they thought so. It was on the outskirts of Mua, their town, hidden behind an abandoned house. It was built by Supido as his place of quiet, and eventually it became Ursus' and Aquila's study halls.

There was a knock on their door. Aquila and Ursus exchanged looks; no one was supposed to know that place existed. The knocks on the door grew louder, but none of them went to the door. The noise grew louder, and louder, and then suddenly died. Aquila walked slowly towards the door, and Ursus got off his seat. The door broke out of its hinges and fell out of the blue. A figure rushed inside and was welcomed by Aquila's feathers. The person kept dodging and Ursus leaked and arm and threw a punch at her, but the stranger used it as a post to somersault gracefully and land before Supido. His eyes were shut throughout and he did not move an inch despite being aware of her presence. When she landed before him, she fell to her knees a second later.

"You just blew your cover, Mel," he spoke.

"I need to tell you something urgent," she replied.

"Mel?! What are you?" Aquila was shocked.

"Holy shit! Mel!" Ursus exclaimed.

He stood with Aquila behind Supido, staring in disbelief.

"I'm an amaroq, and I know Aquila is an eagle amen, Ursus is a bear amen and you Supido, are a wolf amen. I don't have time to explain, but Heat was captured by Deucalion, and he needs your help."

"Why would an amaroq tell us that Heat is captured by other amaroqs? Why should we believe anything you say?" Aquila asked.

"No offence, but I don't need you or Ursus to believe…I only need Supido to. Heat managed to give me this address before sacrificing himself to save me."

"Wait, Heat gave you the address?" Ursus asked. "We don't believe-"

"I do," Supido broke his silence.

"What?!" Ursus and Aquila asked in unison.

"She's been with Heat a lot, they even live together. If she wanted him dead, he'll already be dead. Besides, inviting me to a place with tons of amaroqs is not good news….for them."

Supido finally opened his eyes, unveiling his yellow wolf iris.

"You can't seriously believe a word she said right?" Aquila asked Supido.

After Mel's news, Supido asked her to go to the site of Heat's capture, while he went with Aquila and Ursus to Ur-tir'ak.

"I actually do," Supido replied.

"You're kidding," Ursus said.

"Did any of you two see her face?"

"I do recall that her eyes were watery."

"That was not the face of someone who was trying to set a trap."

"Supido, someone as logic oriented as you couldn't possibly just use that as your basis."

"You're a girl, Aquila. I expect you to be the one who believes her because of that. Even if it's a trap, the greatest asset of our side is missing, and we're gonna find him. I'm taking the lead to Ur-tir'ak. See you guys there."

With that, Supido transported away.

"What is wrong with him?!" Aquila directed her rhetorical question at Ursus.

"Supido knows something we don't."

"And how do you know of this?" Shishio asked.

He was standing at ease, looking out his window. Shishio had risen out of his seat after receiving the news of Heat's disappearance; he was worried about what that could mean.

"I had an informant track Heat after his brawl with Ursus."

"And this source can be trusted?"

"Yes. I headed over to Heat's home and found out that he never showed up…ugula, I believe this is a task for the Track Division. We can swiftly determine his location and get him out."

"Are you sure that you would not need any assistance from the Ground Division?"

"I am."

"Then the mission is yours. Supido Lupus, you are going to lead the Track Division to rescue Heat Fury."

Supido did his bow of respect and walked to the door. Then he paused and asked, "Permission to make this a Dark Phoenix Operation."

"Granted."

Supido walked out of the office with a smirk after hearing what pleased him.
